pootsen, was the olivia hip hop the most recent for outdoors? I did that yesterday and it was hard but good! Yes- I agree with it being challenging but I liked it too!

Thank you for all the positive comments, y’all know how to make a girl smile.
As for me today, I actually got hit with another fever MOTN that didn’t quit til midday today, apparently the booster really was working hard. But I’m pretty good now so I am going to do a stroller walk with the kids in a bit.

we drove a little farther today (MH is obsessing over "fall color") to explore and went on a short walk on a long hiking trail. We went just under 2 miles.
My Apple Watch has given up, my October goal is pitifully low (close move ring 13 days) and it also lowered my calories to close that daily move ring.
I'm doing REALLY well with my morning ease/calm routine, pretty good with water. Part of me feels like I've already lost October and should just wait until November is here and I'm in our new house (and DS will be in school and hopefully we'll get a treadmill right away). But I also feel like that's a bit silly.
I know we are just adjusting (MH working a more "normal" schedule so we don't have blocks off together) and this shall pass. I really just need to take the leap and get out there.

I just did the final workout in Week 3 of Road to Your 5k and OMG, it was beyond tough.
45 minutes of intervals with Adrian, including sprints with and without incline. And all active recovery so no walking breaks. But sorry, Adrian, I took the recovery I needed just to survive and my speeds weren’t anywhere near what he was calling out (i.e. 5 mph is my “I don’t feel like I’m gonna die running pace,” not my easy jogging pace). I will plan to do this one again in a month or so just to gauge progress.
I stretched on my own after as I knew I would need to just lie on my mat and remember how to breathe for a few minutes first.

I really just need to take the leap and get out there. FWIW, the thing that changed my life was moving away from the “all or nothing” attitude that I held for my first 30 years. I always felt like if I wasn’t perfect or close to it, why do anything? I’m at Disney now and I’m eating my face off and not exercising for 5 days and before I would have said fuck it, I’ll start in November because October is already lost. But I promise that’s not how it works! I’ve been running/working out and maintaining a 60 lb loss for almost 11 years now by getting rid of that approach. I’ll get back at it when I get home. Life happens, don’t beat yourself up. As they say in Peloton, progress not perfection!

I just ordered a Garmin Venu, and I'm very excited! I've been regretting not getting the Vivoactive music because my phone battery is toast. At the time I was thinking the music feature was pointless if I always carry my phone anyway, but wasn't even thinking about the battery aspect. 🤦♀️

If anyone has a CAVA they go to, what do you usually order? We just got one and I want to try it. I'd probably get a salad but I'm wondering what dip/spread would go with that.

I've always used my iPod for really long races, but I couldn't get it to connect to headphones so I took the gamble. After 5 and half hours it was down to 39% and I was shocked to still have that much left at all. I need to figure out the music aspect on my watch. I haven't even thought about it, but I have it and should try it out. H uses it and loves it on his.

I started worrying I'd need to go music free for the first 5-6 miles or so because I sure as hell don't want to do the last stretch in silence.

I usually get a greens and grains bowl with grilled chicken and falafel (warning though that their falafel isn’t the same as falafel I have had elsewhere, is chewier- I like it, it’s just different). I get arugula and brown rice, crazy feta spread, tzaziki, and hummus; pickled onions, whatever cucumber mixes they have (mine was out this weekend, oddly), tomato and onion, feta cheese… maybe some other stuff, I forget lol. And then lemon tahini vinaigrette. I will be honest, I have no idea what the nutrition facts for that is. But it’s delicious and really filling.

coconutbacon caer I mean, of course you’re right. I definitely get an “ideal” in my head (currently looks like a great outdoor location with enough people to not feel isolated but not SO many people etc etc) that’s hard to shake. I didn’t mean to sound so dumpy on myself. I am REALLY proud I’ve stuck with my other routines through this season.

I had a successful day toward my goals. Did a low impact ride with my own arms and light weights exercises added in. I was going to do the HCOTF workouts but I hadn't downloaded the new calendar and FB was down. So instead of just finding a core and leg workout, I called it a day. Oh well. Calendar is downloaded now.
Food was excellent today. I weighed and tracked everything and even had room in my macros for the cookie-to-go after my faculty meeting.

Also, H asked me this morning why I wasn't getting a gym membership instead of the treadmill since it would be cheaper (we have planet fitness right near our house). I told him that the issue isn't running outside, I actually prefer that. I ran all last winter and while it's not always great, it's nice to get outside and exercise. The issue is being able to run when my body is ready to go and not always having to plan around his schedule, the kids' schedules, naps, being stuck home with sick kids and no way to get out, etc. I want the freedom to run as much or as little as I want to, when I want to.
I told him if he wanted to sacrifice more of his "free" time to cover me so I can get out and run regularly I would happily forget the treadmill. He didn't say anything else after that.

Back after a weekend off. My hip needed the break. And it got a little different movement since it was nice enough to swim outdoors this weekend on our trip (I am being very liberal with calling it nice enough. It was like 70).
Scale will be screwy for a few days because I ate whatever. H looked relieved when I told him I wasn't taking either scale (body or food) and I had no intentions of tracking a damn thing. It was a nice break.
Squats went great tonight. Without my suit my hip is still a little iffy when I get toward the end range of motion (which is likely why I was told to stay out of that- oops).

I haven't been keeping up the last few days because of how much is going on in my life these last few days, but I just skimmed and I'm glad everyone is pushing on! Toenails and all!
This evening I did Jess King's live DJ ride and it was as fun and full of energy as you'd expect. Followed with a 10 minute core with Olivia that was just BRUTAL, and 10 minute glutes and legs, also with Olivia.

Had a not fun weekend of being sick with DD and then having to go get a Covid test for school and work. It was negative but we still didn't feel great yesterday so I took the day to recover.
Got up yesterday a bit later and it was leg day. I was very tired and everything felt incredibly heavy but No was not an option for me so just kept moving up in weights and managed to hit 5 more lbs on my squat for the final set. I did a ton of sets as was warming up and then kept adding weights. Hopefully next week I can do half at the previous weight and then half sets at this new heavier weight. My quads had the biggest pump for the rest of the day so that's always cool 😊
Started to move things in the basement and setting up some of my leg press. We need to set aside more time to get this done, just been busy.
My throat is still so sore and I have a cough, but it was push day today and I tried my best. More reps for dips today, went up 5 lbs for bench press, and military press. Three different exercises for triceps so they are feeling it too.
B: Oatmeal with egg whites, pb powder, and chocolate chips. L: Tuna wrap with pickles, apple. D: Chicken, potatoes, green beans
