I just finished The Ex Hex. I loved it. It was such a cute and fun witchy rom com. Perfect for this time of year. I don't really understand why my library system doesn't have this in yet! Still shown as on order😒 That stinks! Hopefully it comes in soon. I don't think my library has it yet either, I got mine for BOTM.

Currently reading “It Happened One Summer.” It’s a fun and v v sexy romance with funny and likable characters, if anyone is looking for a palate cleanser.

I finally finished Apples Never Fall and I’m not sure if I liked it. I am satisfied, but maybe don’t see myself recommending this one to people.

I liked Party of Two a lot, although the ending was very cheesy. Which is on par with the others. It was a fun easy read.
I just started We Begin At The End.

I finished The Library at Mount Char. It was weird but I didn’t find it disturbing. Probably because it wasn’t so realistic. I did give it four stars because the writing was great and the message was good.
I’m starting Sometimes I Lie tonight

Any TJR fans are going to need to pre order Dava Shastri’s Last Day—it’s got Evelyn Hugo, Daisy Jones, and Riva family vibes. Very very good—I think it may also have some early release BOTM potential since it’s a debut author.

I finished Rebecca over the weekend and enjoyed it. And then watched Netflix's adaptation and by golly it was terrible. I also finished Big Little Lies and I think I liked the show a lot better than the book, maybe if I'd read it first I would have liked it better.
I started A Study in Charlotte on audio- Sherlock and Watson's grandchildren team up for sleuthing (this is YA), and Fates and Furies in print.

BOTM BOTY Final 5. I make BFF next month, so I do get to pick one, but the only one I haven’t read is People We Meet on Vacation, and romance is just not my thing. Blah. I don’t think this is a great top 5.

I have a feeling that this is going to be an UO but I couldn’t get into The Ex Hex at all. I tried for like a week but would read a few pages, get bored and set it aside. I finally gave up but maybe will try it again at some point.
I read Lisa Jewell’s I Found You when I decided to move on and it was ok. Not my favorite by her but a perfectly fine thriller.
I’m going to give Sophie Kinsella’s new one a try next.

I just finished The Death of Jane Lawrence. I really liked it. It was super creepy, very creative, and bizarre. The ending was a MINDFUCK and I’m so glad it was nothing I saw coming. The downside is that I am now too scared to go into the basement to finish the laundry 😂

I finished The Fine Print a few days ago and didn't really care for it. It was highly recommended on booktok so I feel betrayed, lol. Thankfully it was KU.
I'm in a slump again now and don't know what to read next. I still have Everything We Didn't Say and The Neighbor's Secret from BOTM that I haven't read yet. I started The Once and Future Witches but it hasn't grabbed me yet. I still need to read The Hawthorne Legacy but I was hoping to reread The Inheritance Games first. I don't know if I should try for an easy rom com to get me out of the slump or something creepy/witchy for Halloween season.

The locks won’t help in the book, but in real life it was comforting!

A preordered a bunch of Halloweenish books ages ago, so even though I’m now attempting to stick to the library, they keep appearing on my Kindle. Today I read Cackle. I started it thinking it was probably a romance, and didn’t read the description. It was not what I expected! I liked it, it was weird and I enjoyed the cadence of the writing.

I mostly enjoyed The Last Thing He Told Me, but the ending felt a bit lacking somehow. I gave it a 4/5.

Just finished Under the Whispering Door… 5 million stars. I honestly wasn’t really loving it at first, but it ended up being a beautiful story!

I noticed that my library uses Hoopla and downloaded it. I was unimpressed. Does the selection change monthly?

I finished Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney last night and really liked it. 4 stars. Not sure what is next . I'm The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell.

I started The Neighbor's Secret and then put it down when I got The Inheritance Games from the library, since I didn't want to lose my hold. So, both are "in progress" for me. I ended up really enjoying The Once and Future Witches but it is definitely a time investment.

I noticed that my library uses Hoopla and downloaded it. I was unimpressed. Does the selection change monthly? It depends on what they purchase and how many licenses per title they purchase. Smaller libraries will have smaller collections. I just pay for Brooklyn's e-card each year ($50) and use their ebook collection on Overdrive. It's saved me at least $400 dollars and/or wait times from my tiny county library e-book collection.

I'm listening to 100 years of solitude, and it's reminding me of all the books my brother tried to get me to read in high school. It's for my PopSugar challenge "been on your TBR list the longest."
Neon Gods just came up and I'm going to try to listen while doing chores this weekend.

I guess I thought the appeal of hoopla was there was no wait, but I thought the selection would be a little bigger than it is!

I just read an Isabel Allende book that reminded me I've had "The House of the Spirits" on my TBR list for a long time. (In English as I read it in Spanish back in college but definitely missed some of the plot). 100 years of solitude would also be in that TBR list for me.

Ours doesn't have a great selection but I will randomly find books I haven't been able to find elsewhere. I like that there is no wait for books. It also has some beginner chapter book series that my daughter likes so she uses it too.
