I only thought of it because it is on Bailey and Weber fixing it and they are focused on surgical residents and not Gen medical or OB or whatnot. I'm pretty sure you're correct because they kept mentioning the "surgical residency program" so I don't think it effects other residency programs in the hospital. Sometimes it feels like they're the only doctors in the hospital though. Like is the chief of surgery in charge of the whole hospital? Just the surgical department? It always feels like whoever on the show is chief is running the whole hospital, but is that really how it works?

I don't know. I'm always perplexed when they regularly treat patients outside their specialty. Like cancer, so much cancer and never a single oncologist to be found.

Each department has their own hierarchy and surgeons are rarely caught in the ER or non surgery floor unless they’re checking in on their patients on the floor. And lol to drs being at the bedside so much. It’s like nurses don’t even exist on the show. So much of hospital shows are lies, esp Greys take on covid, which is why I dropped watching for a good year.

They pretty much abandoned having nurses as side characters after that one that slept with Alex and the whole nurses strike thing.
At least in The Resident the nurses are still there, sometimes. Mostly just the main one now that Nic is gone.

Taking them to the bathroom? Sitting with them all night? Nope 🤣
