My seltzers and gummies arrived today. Mh brought the box in and says "what the heck did you order from an elevator supply company?" I was reading this and thinking how good the sodas are and maybe I want one. Then I thought, “eh, I’m feeling pretty even, I don’t need one. Oh wait, that’s because I just had one!” I just drank one. I don't feel any different but had a pretty chill day to begin with so perhaps that is why I don't notice a difference. Tastes good though! I got the black cherry lemon flavor, that was all that was in stock.

Some good news!
My MRI showed spinal cord involvement that looks like it is likely lyme related (“signal intensity”), and more importantly there was NO mass seen to suggest anything worrisome like cancer.
So. To the neurologist, hopefully sooner than later, and with a lighter step.

Ok yay! I mean, obviously that sucks if you are having long term Lyme issues. But fuck cancer and all that. So I am very happy to hear that it doesn’t appear to be cancer. (Right? This is great news?)

I’m happy for you, ovenrack! You’ve been on my mind since you mentioned the MRI! I don’t know anything much about Lyme, but I hope the neurologist can give you good treatment options to help relieve your symptoms.

It must be a sign of the times that all the cbd things I want to order are out of stock. Almost like the whole world is going through something.

I think I just agreed to be jr chair of the pto. Which means next year I’m chair. Relavent to thread because this is a bad decision.

My SAD has already kicked in hard. I’m just down. I want to be outside and moving but my kids just want to play inside because our yard is small and boring. Going places is a chore and I find myself yelling a lot. I want to move outside of town so badly but it’s so expensive. My job sucks and I want to quit. I haven’t been at work! There’s a lot going on though so there’s a constant stream of communication from our union and management. I feel stuck.

I’m VP this year with the expectation to be president for the next 2 years. Surprisingly, it’s very low drama, but a ton of work. I also just started working again after 6.5 years of being a SAHM so it really feels like a lot right now. BUT I will say that it feels good to be active in the school and “known” by the teachers and administration. I helped out with picture day today and the kids were the sweetest. I’m hoping as I learn the ropes and we settled into the school year, it starts feeling easier.

Hugs snowmoon. I know that feeling of wanting to move locations and being stuck because of cost or other reasons. Everything is so damn expensive. 😞 I hope you can find some time to get outside or treat yourself. We’re always here for venting or commiseration.

TW for death
C told me that one her classmates shared with the class that both of her parents died in a house fire and only she and her brother survived. Now they live with their grandmother. I don't know if they were there when the house fire happened or not, but the girl did share some hand sanitizer that her mom had given her. Which means that the whole thing is very recent. My heart just breaks for that little girl and her brother.

That's so sad, mapleme 😞💔. A had a boy in her kindergarten class that had recently lost his mom, and I overheard on over of their zoom calls him sharing that they finished his mom's garden and bench area so he could talk to her whenever he wanted 😭 My heart just breaks for kids that lose a parent at such a young age

Good heavens mapleme, that's so rough. I guess this should be in the mental health thread instead of randoms, so I scheduled an appointment with doctor to talk about the possibility of autism. I'm going to have to go through it with at least two of my kids too. D especially had a shockingly un-emotional response to a friend trying to talk to him about a very emotional situation and it caused much pain and basically destroyed the friendship. He doesn't really have close connections with other kids. He was very late to the pretend play stage of development and still doesn't really go for fiction. He reads encyclopedias. He's gotten into some rough patches with other kids in gymnastics which I wrote off as him just being obnoxious and oblivious as boys can be. But all of these "quirks" considered through the filter of potential autism spectrum make me wonder. And of course, I no longer trust myself to be a good judge of "normal." N has some other things that are less concerning, but I still want to run by a medical professional. He can't make eye contact or talk normally when it's a serious topic. I wrote it off as the typical kid-embarrassed-about-being-called-out reaction, but again, I'm second guessing a lot of things. I don't know about S. He's 4. He's has the same 4 year old quirks his brothers had, which I assumed were just about being 4. But he's in preschool, so I can ask them to look out for things to get an outside perspective on him.

Four coworkers announced their pregnancies yesterday. FOUR. In addition to this hurting my heart, it’s also going to rock my work life. And I just feel so overwhelmed. Don’t worry, I’m bandaging myself with food and alcohol. Super healthy here.

tj, I’m sorry that happened. I totally understand how that could be so hard. At least with an email, you could feel your feelings and not have to put on a brave face in the moment.
