Well fuck. My dad has covid. He had the j&j shot, but it sounds like his cough and fatigue are really bad.

He’s not in great health from a lifetime of alcoholism (been sober for 10 years now), so I’m worried. He ::likely:: caught it from one of his young factory coworkers who got sick about a week after spending time at the iowa state fair. 😒🥺

My aunt has had covid for 2.5 weeks and isn't really getting better. She has had a bad case even though she was vaccinated. She has a couple pre-existing lung issues that I'm sure are contributing. She is like a second mom to me and I'm kind of freaking out.

She's in FL, so here's a big f**k you to DeSantis.

This is the disconnect: CDC keeps saying it's safe to have everyone in school because of the mitigation measures they laid out.
Buuuuuuut the schools aren't adhering to the mitigation measures.....

I think what really happened is the administration decided kids needed to be in school and the CDC said some stuff to make that happen but no one is going to challenge the schools about compliance with the CDC guidance because the administration decided kids needed to be in school.

I agree with this. NJ is offering state money to screen students. Our district isn't doing it. I emailed our superintendent last week about the free money and asking them to implement screening. So far....crickets. BOE meeting is next week so if I don't hear anything by then guess who is gonna be there asking about it. 

(The impression I'm getting is that our district, and probably others, think it is too much work to do 😡 )

Same. I'm giving our district to the end of the week to announce something because the state was really late in rolling this out and then I'll be contacting them.
