It is still raining here. I just went on an Amazon spree for last minute school things. I cannot believe summer is almost over and mostly that Charlie is going to kindergarten. I am so sad about it.

Oh guster, that first day of K is hard for everyone, although Charlie will do great! This summer flew by, even though there were no vacations. I can't believe fall will be here soon.

I'm super annoyed. My Jeep is still doing the same thing I took it in to be service for (besides the oil change and tire rotation). I'm going to call the dealership just down the street from my office and see when they can look at it. It's warranty, so anyone of them could fix it. But anytime I turn left, even a left curve, I get a warning on my dash, then my radio shuts off. I turn left a lot apparently because it's annoying AF.

He is so excited! It will be harder on you than him, I bet! I'm sure it helps having an older sibling that he has watched go to school every year.

He loved pre-school and he's super friendly so I know he'll be fine. Im just used to my little buddy being here. He has truncated days fir the first two weeks so we'll both get the chance to adjust!

I just did a big mask order for school. I can't believe Lue is starting kindergarten either!! It's going to be so weird with C and L in school full time and A in school most mornings.

Morning! Ds had his first day of school today, can’t believe I have a second grader, when in the world did that happen, I mean they were born like yesterday, right?!
Dd still had the dag of, which was great because she needed some time to recover from yesterday. Dh slept on the couch in order not to constantly wake dd2 and me up, but seems better now too. I hope that was it 🤞🏻.
Lovely quite morning with both my girls, I’ll miss those, although I’m full on planning on keeping dd1 home from time to time, it won’t be a structural thing, so it’ll feel different.

When did these kids get so big! I saw your pictures on FB of all of the grandchildren with your parents, and I couldn't get over how old C looks.

guster, wineallthetime, hugs to you both! I was a ball of nerves leading up to K. It felt so grown up even though he was in care full time since 13weeks old. I am sure they will both do great! When do you all start?

The puppy is driving me nuts this morning. She needs alot of attention in the morning and it's difficult with trying to work and getting C out the door. I ended up giving her a marrow bone and she is happily chewing. I think I am going to drive somewhere to take her for a walk later. She refuses to walk. I'm used to puppies pulling, not refusing to walk on a leash. I think it will be better not on our street so that home is out of sight out of mind. We will see.
Aside from that I don't have a ton of work to do so I'm hoping to read a bit. I'm not on my usual pace since the puppy arrived.

Will you be returning to teaching in the coming years with the kids both school age? Or relishing in the life of a homemaker?

S is back to school today. She started the day off in a great mood. Then had 2 seizures. Then had a sit down protest in the parking lot of the school. I had to carry her in with her latching on to me for dear life. 😬 but at least she looked happy in the pic we took for FB 😂.

Oddly enough, the preschool the kids went to asked if I'd like to work there in the future. They said I could start by subbing if I didn't want a commitment. I am firmly a high school teacher, but I love their preschool's philosophy (and their hours would allow me to get the kids to school and pick them up with some time to spare) so I told the director I would consider subbing next year.

M had started school today and drop off was insane. There was a news station there, which made it even worse.

That is basically how my sister re-entered the workforce after staying home with kids for 10 years. The preschool her kids went to asked her if she’d consider it because they had a last minute opening. Her kids went to the adjoining private school, so the hours and location were perfect. So she did that the first year, then did 1st grade, now teaching Kdg. Which was what she taught before she had kids.

It's a nice step in-- I don't think I'd want to go back and get ceritified for k-4 (I have my 5/6 extension) but you never know!!

If you are a teacher in the USA, you can teach 0-18? Over here those are different 4 year educations, one 0-4, one 4-12 and then a whole bunch of different ones 12-16 (each subject is a different four years) 16-18 is a masters.

Coworker emailed her daughters teacher for missed assignments during this week of quarantine. The teacher said everyone was in class and there was no quarantine.... Coworker is very confused, as am I. She sent me the email that the school sent her regarding the close contact and it really did seem like the class was going to be in quarantine. Idk what she's going to do now.

No, you have to specialize in a grade level and as the grade level gets higher you then specialize in a subject.
