W has woken me up early every day this week, and I had appointments Tuesday, Wednesday (which wound up being 3 freaking hours) and today. I'm very tired 😴

Looks great milano! We are at 86 with 68% humidity here, it’s going to be quite a sweaty soccer practice tonight! MH is going to be MIA for much of the next week & I’m already pre-grumpy about it. It's 13% humidity here and feels so crazy to me. I spend half the day drinking water, peeing it out, applying chapstick and squirting saline up my nose. rugger do you ever acclimate to this?! It's wild!!

Probably because I'm the most hydrated I've ever been 😆

Friggin lawyers man. I want to vent more, but, you know, lawyers. They muck up everything. It's so much easier doing business just in Vermont.

I can't even make this up. The family that rehomed Teddy after having him for only 6 days, texted me last night a super long sob story saying that her son is so heartbroken and ASKED IF WE WOULD GIVE HIM BACK! We've had him since Monday (tomorrow will be us having him as long as they did) and I've already had him to the vet to get caught up on his shots, microchipped him and registered him with out town. There's no way we're giving him back.
Thankfully, I took a screen screenshot her two (since-deleted) Facebook posts where she was desperately looking for a new home because they can't provide for him the way that he needs. I also saved every Facebook message/text message in which we coordinated plans/and again her intentions that they needed to find him a new home. Both her and I also signed a (albeit very basic) contract saying that we were transferring ownership of the dog to us. Not to mention, I paid them a decent amount - an amount that we both agreed upon. It wasn't what they paid the breeder, but it also wasn't a small amount. I sent her a very stern text response this morning explaining everything (contract, exchange of money, already registered him to our home/family). And that I’ve tried to be really kind, empathetic, and patient as I know this was a difficult decision, but texting me to guilt me like this is not acceptable and to please not text me about the dog again. She didn't respond.

Ugh mc13 that's so sucky. You did the right thing though, he's a part of your family now and if they were that quick to give him up I wouldn't trust them at all to take him back and give him the attention/care he needs. It wouldn't be fair to you and your kids, or the dog.

Like all of a sudden, you think you can take care of the dog after not having him for 5 days? I don’t trust that they would take him back then turn around looking to rehome him again in another week.

Not only that but taking him back because her son is upset is not a good reason at all. This has nothing to do with the living and breathing animal that had needs and all to do with the fact that she doesn’t want to help her son work through his emotions.

We did a zoom showing for my literal, actual dream house today. It was AMAZING! Then our agent spoke with the listing agent. They already have a slew of offers and said that for an offer to be competitive it needed to be 100k over listing price, plus some extra stipulations that could cost up to $25k. So. That’s a no can do.

We're in our 3rd hotel in 4 days. Supposed to be home tonight but the bridge to our state closed earlier this evening so we opted to skip sitting in traffic for an unknown # of hours waiting for it to reopen or drive 4 hrs the long way around, and got a hotel room. Coastal living! Lol. We picked the wrong hotel and I'm dying a bit inside but thankfully had red wine in the car and some gummies to get me through. This will be a very memorable mother's day, for sure.

This is my yearly PSA that I want to visit the east coast, specifically Boston! We studied the history of Faneuil Hall today for L's homeschool, and she's been doing her copywork from As I was Crossing Boston Common.

This summer, we're roadtripping to Boston, up through NH to ride the Mt. Washington cog railway to Acadia National Park in Maine then to Prince Edward Island for a few nights before heading back. I'm going to look for that book. We also plan to read Anne of Green Gables in preparation.

That obviously didn't happen. ETA The Boston Common book is illustrated by Arnold Lobel of Frog and Toad fame. L has memorized the glossary since she loves animals so much 😆

We're not leaving Canada but we're driving and camping around PEI and Nova Scotia next month and I'm so excited! For all the years I've lived here (16 this year!) I've been to PEI for a single day and only into NS to drive to the airport in Halifax lol. I live less than an hour from both 😅

I'm having a big internal tantrum over here. The girls' combo b-day party was scheduled for this Saturday morning, outside at a park. Well, Colorado is being very Colorado and ruining the weather. And our house is NOT set up to handle a dozen 8-10yr olds so we really can't move it here. Ughhhhh! I'm ready to cancel or postpone a month, but of course, the girls are not happy with that idea. It just makes me so annoyed that we don't have that bigger house with a basement that we've been looking for for almost a year. Mother Nature can suck it right now

Do you have a park district you can call and see if they have a room available inside?
I’d even try a YMCA or gym.

That's so disappointing, rugger. Could you postpone one week? Or maybe change the plan to going to a movie theatre or something else indoors?
