MelanieCarmichael I feel like we’ve vacationed in all the same spots this year lol. We just got back from the lake area (some vacay stuff but mostly house hunting) what area is your rental? The lake felt WONDERFUL!!! newspapers what’s the motivation book you’re reading? lunarscallion oh I feel that!! If I can do one intentional thing everyday that will be amazing this month.

I did it, 14 treadmill miles done. The last three were woof, but I'm done. I do a variety of peloton runs for these long treadmill stints to try and not get bored. I did 45 minute intervals with Wilpers, 30 minute hip hop with Selena, 30 minute house run with Jess King, and 45 minute hip hop run with Adrian, because I like ending with eye candy. I also stopped with about 8 minutes left in the last run because I hit my mileage and noped right off the treadmill. I did my favorite 10 minute Robin stretch afterwards and I'll do some yoga tonight. Likely one of my favorite stretchy ones I keep bookmarked plus a short hip one, because my right hip is once again angry at me. Food has been and will be on point, minus leftover cake. Because I can. Way to kill it! 14 miles is no joke, and 14 on a tread?! You're a beast!

Hi there. Today I did a 30 minute boot camp with Jess and a 20 minute easy run. The boot camp was fabulous, as usual. I love her.
I was planning on doing leg day and a run tomorrow but I just found out that my DS has an appointment in Baltimore at 10am (1.5 hours away) and then DH and I are having our first date night in a looooong time, so I don’t know when I’ll fit it in. The appointment is 2-3 hours long but maybe I’ll be home in time to squeeze something in.

It’s my birthday today and I took a day off work, so I did some live rides and OMG Robin gave me a birthday shoutout! 🥳 I did: 10 min low impact with Matt 20 min live pop ride with Robin 20 min live 80s ride with Robin 5 min cool down with Ally Happy birthday 🎉🎉

I did back and biceps and core with my trainer today. I had a NSV too. So when I started training again with him in May, I was struggling through a 45 second plank on the bosu ball. Today I managed TWO 1 min 45 second planks on the bosu. Progress!

And woooow to that Reddit thread. I need to dig into it a bit more. I love everything about her crazy wedding week but I also see why it would have been obnoxious as hell to be another guest there. I really thought they would have bought the whole place out for how extravagant it was. I also would have been SUPER pissed if I had spent all that money to stay there and just was bombarded with someone else's wedding the whole time in my face.
Ally isn't my fave instructor by any means and I can definitely see her getting a little bride-zilla.

cnf - way to bust out 14 miles. I mean, there's a part of me that can't even comprehend double-digit miles on the tread. I think my max many, many eons ago was 6 and I pretty much wanted to run right off the tread the last 2.5.

I think my max many, many eons ago was 6 and I pretty much wanted to run right off the tread the last 2.5. This is the second time I've done 14 on the treadmill in my life. But given the fact that I'm solo parenting all week and need to get long runs in and can't get out with three littles, the treadmill wins. I could do them on the weekend outside, but I know H would be annoyed at the time commitment cutting into family time, so this is just easiest.

I got my workout in over lunch.
Week 6, Day 2 of You Can Run. This one was on the tread as Adrian was the instructor and I had his pretty smile and other assets to focus on.
It was another pace session with 4 minutes at 10k pace (I stuck with 12 min mph pace), 2.5 minutes of 5k pace (I knocked it down to 11 min), and 1.5 minutes of 1 mile pace (10 min). I wanted to be challenged, which I definitely was, as my breathing and heart rate showed, but wanted to be able to keep it up the whole time without stopping. I do love the treadmill for pacing as it's so much easier than constantly looking at my phone when I'm outdoors and while treadmill running always feels harder than outdoors, I like getting the full training experience.
I did a 10-min post-run stretch with Wilpers afterwards.
On another topic, I've been doing so much better with water this week as well as eating more whole foods and lots of fruits/veggies and less of the processed/junky foods. I got this granola from Costco last night and made myself a breakfast bowl with 1/4 cup of granola, 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt, and a cup of strawberries. It was so good and kept me full til lunch and fueled my run.

newspapers what’s the motivation book you’re reading? It's called "Stick with It" by Sean Young, a researcher in CA. The writing is a bit simplistic, but the principles he outlines I am finding helpful.

45 minute ride with Denis done. My heart rate wouldn’t go below below 176 almost the whole ride. Since I’ve been feeling like I’m on the verge of a panic attack all week this makes sense.
Food has been better.

Happy birthday notexactly! That’s awesome that you got a shoutout! cnf, wow 14 miles on a tread! I’ve never been a tread runner so that’s impressive! Trying to think kind thoughts to myself. I finally managed a morning workout and it was a disaster. After a great run 2 days ago, today’s was awful. Granted I was barely 12 hours out from that my ride last night, so I know I didn’t get the recovery I needed. Humidity was also at 80% which always means breathing issues for me, so all around I was a mess. I decided it wasn’t worth making myself miserable so I did a 45 minute walk/run rather than a full run, and instead I focused on making sure my breathing and HR stayed in safe zones. So today wasn’t my day. I followed that up with 20 minute arms, 10 minute core, and a 10 minute stretch. I also know the number on the scale doesn’t mean everything but I hit goal 1 of 2 on the scale today and I’m pumped!

I got in an easy 4 mile run today, and I walked another 4. I have PT again tomorrow morning, and I might try to get in my long run too. But I might just hold off until the weekend.

20 min glutes and legs with Callie - first class with her, I liked it! 30 min HIIT run with Matty- ran this in a hilly area to get an outside HIIT/hills combo and got 3 miles in. I feel a cold brewing so I'm glad I got that out of the way early in the day. Nice job on the long tread run, cnf! Brutal.

I really wanted to just go to bed but I hopped on at 7:45pm and did a ride. I did a lot of yawning during the warmup but survived.

Friday workout done- 10 min stair stepper, hour body pump class, and 30 min elliptical. B- an egg on sprouted bread with some cheese and fruit L- panzanella salad leftover enchiladas from my fav mex restaurant from last night. The plate came with two and I ate half of each so it's really just one enchilada. D- idk maybe Indian takeout.
Hope to get to the gym tomorrow am for cardio since I missed yesterday.

I am, however, annoyed at my peloton. It didn't save my ride data. I know it's likely user error on my part, I started it then hopped off like 15 seconds into the intro because the baby climbed up on something. I ended the class when I got off and went into my workout history to pull it back up and jump back in. It offered me start over or resume, so I hit start over. My leaderboard buffered the whole time and even though my metrics were showing on my screen they weren't showing on the leaderboard. At the end of the ride though the box on the right popped up and had everything, so I didn't think much of it. Hit view workout and it was all there. Toggled a couple of screens to look at other things then went back and it had all disappeared. The workout shows up in my history but says no data if I click it. I'm so annoyed. Reddit tells me I'm shit out of luck. I cleared my cache and restarted my bike before finishing the rest of my workout and all my data for my strength and stretch saved. So dumb.

ANDDD.... my husband quite the gym and ordered a Peloton, all before 9am today. I've resisted; I like the gym and my gym friends and I stare at a screen enough during the day. I just started taking a spin class at the gym. So I'm not sure how I feel about all this but I think it's good for him and he'll really use it. I also think my almost 13 YO daughter will use it. So I'll probably have questions lol.
