I thought of you all the other day when my cousin posted on SM she got a high five from Matt. DH just got a high-five from Matt also, a couple of days ago. He’s on a streak!

I caught my kids cold so I’m taking a few days off from my usual cardio. Today I did 20 minutes Disney bodyweight strength with Rebecca and a 5 minute core with Callie. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out for at least a walk/run.

Hi, all. Today I did Jess’s latest 60 minute boot camp. It kicked my butt, as usual. The soundtrack was so much fun though - lots of 90s pop. I also did Hannah’s 10 minute barre from hell. And that will be it for today. I’m making a yummy panzanella salad for dinner and I’m looking forward to that!

Not loving the peloton like I thought I might. Idk.. Let us help you love it. What type of music, personality, and difficulty do you find enjoyable for riding? We’ll find the perfect instructor for you!

Week 1, Day 2 of Road to Your 5K is done.
It was a 30 minute Core Bootcamp with Olivia and yes, I was very, very afraid of the core portions, but it wasn't horrible.
Since running on consecutive days and more than 3-4 times/week = me getting injured, I powerwalked vs running and still sweat buckets.

My life is pure chaos. And my first baby started kindergarten this week! But you're still my inspiration. I hit a 5-day streak on Peloton today, and a 26-week streak yesterday. That's half a year! Before school pick up this afternoon I got in a 20min 90s ride, 5min cool down ride and 5min stretch with Christine.
I've also taken a couple yoga classes with Mariana for the first time recently, and I like her.

Tonight I did:
10 min low impact with Ben 20 min EDM trap ride with Jess 5 min cool down with Jenn
I thought I was gonna be done after the first 10 mins because I was just feeling really blah in general, but then I ended up continuing my stack anyways. Glad I did because Jess always has the best EDM music and she is just such a fun and funny instructor. I just love her personality.

Back from Atlanta. The new stadium is great plus lots of restaurants, bars and shopping right outside. Got a ton of steps yesterday. The game was great, Yankees won, I had two delicious hot dogs and a gallon of water because it was a thousand degrees. ( What did I expect in Atlanta in August.
Today I did a 45 DJ ride with Robin. It was great. I enjoyed the music, all her conversation and the actual ride.

Today was ok until I finished off my Ben and Jerry's ice cream. With caramel sauce 😬
B: protein shake, coffee S: nature valley protein bar L: one bar, single svg rice cakes, single svg pack cookies D: think thin oatmeal with blueberries, cheese stick, honey roasted cashews, sunchips, ice cream with caramel sauce
E: 30 minutes elliptical
I did well just eating several nuts and not even a full serving of chips. Then the ice cream happened ugh.

My 16 miler last week also didn’t go as planned. It was supposed to be the last 8 at goal marathon pace which…. Lol. I may need to reevaluate if things don’t massively improve over the next couple of months. I only hit two- the rest were really inconsistent but all above goal pace. I also screwed up my nutrition by not bringing any… I realized about three miles in that I had only brought my water bottle but thought it would be fine…. Mile 16, instead of being at goal marathon pace, turned into a cool down mile. So I need to remember next time. I also missed a run this week because we were out of town for a couple of days. Ready for 13 tomorrow and hoping I at least hit my tempo paces later this week.

Got in a 2.5 mile run while I got my oil changed in my car this morning. It’s my favorite errand to do: I am able to use that wait time wisely and they can’t try to upsell me because I am not sitting in the waiting room. And , as expected, the run was so much better than Sunday.
We are now in Maine until Friday so I’ll be active but no official workouts. Food is indulgent and I’ve had some drinks, but it’s all been worth it so far!

No formal workout yesterday, just a 30 minute (snails pace) walk around the neighborhood with DS while he’s trying to get the hang of riding his bike. Today was 10 min core w/ Olivia, 10 min glutes & legs w/ Rad & 20 min HIIT ride w/ Cody. The Olivia & Cody classes nearly killed me so I’m thankful to be here & able to share this update with you all 😅

Hey y’all. I’m impossibly far behind but I’m going to try to catch up. So if you get some super late likes, that’s why. My whole family has tag teamed a cold to each other for the last week and a half and it has been the. worst. Luckily we had PCR covid tests that were negative so it’s just some other random sickness. But I’ve been out either being sick myself or taking care of my eleventy sick kids. I’m hoping I can get back out there in the next couple of days. My sister is trying to convince me to do a half marathon with her and I’m like, slow down, dude. Lol. But maybe I’ll get crazy and go for it.

I don’t get upset, but I do feel like Peloton is lacking in quality runs, so when someone like Matt doesn’t have a class for a while I get a bit annoyed because that means I end up repeating other classes. I am warming up to some of the other instructors, but I feel like it’s not the same for what I’m looking for. However- I don’t own a Peloton tread and I don’t plan on ever getting one, so I’m definitely not their target customer there and have no real room to complain. I do feel like there is tons of content on the bike and I’ve never had the same problem- I only repeat classes that were super fun and because I want to do them again, not because of a lack of a certain type of workout/instructor. I'm also here. The bike content is great! There is a ton to pick from all the time and I usually struggle on what to settle on. The running content is severely lacking though. There are days where only one or two new runs are added and they're 20 minute runs. If you go way back they had Matty, Selena, Becs, Wilpers, and Jess Sims for running and they all did 45 and 60 minute classes on the regular. Now we're lucky if one 45 minute class comes out per week and there's only ever one 60 minute class every few weeks. And they've added running instructors! Honestly, they need a few more running instructors and they need to beef up their running schedule. We do plan to upgrade to a peloton tread at some point and I'm going to be crabby if I spend that kind of money to only be given a single 20 minute HIIT run on any given day. Sorry. Super late. But this is actually really helpful. I don’t have a peloton but I’ve been thinking of paying for the app for the outside runs. But if there’s not a lot of content then I’m not sure if that’s the right choice. Hmmm.

Approach with curiosity, not judgement But often, if we eat enough during the day, we’re less likely to feel the need to snack/“overeat” at night.

Otherwise I would highly suggest Nike Run Club app for audio only running workouts. Excellent content and plenty of it!

We stayed at a hotel within walking distance. So many things to do before the game and then once inside, the new stadium is nice, lots of food options, not too $$ and plenty of stalls in the ladies room.

Slept in today. After work in the heat and humidity (real feel like 100+ I think) I am going to run. I don't know how far or how fast but I am going out. After homework and bedtime stuff I am going to do a yoga as well.

What you have listed isn't a whole lot of food- so 1) you likely had room for that ice cream 2) you might be able to control cravings better if you included a little more in each of your meals. You don't have much for fruits/veggies. Is this normal or just an off day?

Morning.
I woke up feeling stiff. I had a dream about feeling badly about my weight. I'm feeling very down about my body right now and it's apparently creeping into my brain deeper than I thought. Ugh, dumb. I'm just over it.
I ditched the run I had planned and did a 20 minute hip hop ride and a 10 minute light weights both with Tunde. Followed it up with a 5 minute core with Ben.
MIL is coming today because I have a dentist appointment again to get set up with Invisalign. Then she offered to take us out to lunch. Plus H has golf tonight and the kids and I always do take out on his golf nights. So my food will be a mess.
I don't know. I don't know what I need right now but I'm really struggling with my body. I need to make my annual appointment for next month with my OBGYN and I think I'll have them check my hormones and thyroid. Even when I'm on point my weight is creeping up still and I'm starting to really feel discouraged and very fuck it about everything.
Feel free to ignore my incessant whining.

You should not have to ask for a thyroid check at your annual. Ever. That is standard blood work. Make plans now for where you are going to eat. Eat breakfast, then plan our your other meals. Also you can get the kids take out and make something for yourself at home. You don't have to have what you get them.

It goes back to 2019 or something like that? They're just not releasing a ton of new content each week. There's plenty to keep you busy though. I'm only using it for the outdoor runs and stretching at the moment. Come cold weather I'll use the app for my treadmill runs as well (on my non-Peloton). I also picked up a great tip from here and use the walk/runs outdoor classes as runs. I just jog the walk portions and run the rest. It's opened up a ton of new class options for me. For $13/month, I find it worth every penny. I think you should definitely give the free month a try though!
