I must be a gluten for punishment because i plan on fitting in a good and hard 20 min outdoor run before grabbing the kids. I do plan on doubling down on my water intake and popping a nuun on my way to the run. I still can't believe how much yesterdays heat took out of me. I chugged water right after and had to wait to pick up kids, so naturally i went to the brewery next door and grabbed some fritos for the salt. and a glass of wine for my self care.
I am also lowering my expectations on my pace in this heat. I need to expect it to be slower.
Food: B: chocolate and strawberry protein shake S: greek yogurt with granola / plum L: grilled chicken salad with broccoli, onions and tomatoes. nectarine on the side S: bean burrito (these are turning out to be the perfect protein/carb combo pre run snack!) D: air fryer chicken over pasta and broccoli

Morning.
45 minute EDM ride with Jess King 5 minute core with Olivia Flash 15
Taking the kids to our local play museum today and it's huge, so I should get in some steps. Without a run or work my step count is much lower these days. At least I PRed the ride. Woof, lots of high resistance climbing.
Food should be good. I prepped stuff yesterday so I can try to do better today. Yesterday was a snack bananza for me and I need to do better today.

I'm in such a funk about life in general right now. I'm scared to death to send DS back to school. My own health is wobbly most days, mental and physical. We have this huge bee infestation out back that I need to have a professional check out.
It's making it really hard to get through my workouts, even though I still am.

AM workout done. 5 min stair stepper + hour body pump. The a/c was broken :/ Then I did the Les Mills sprint spin class. I had to leave 5 min early to take kids to school. I may try a 10-20 min yoga/stretch?
B- egg on toast with cheese and some veggies and fruit L- gazpacho d- shrimp and pasta for kids and idk for me. S- loving the rice cakes with hummus and cucumbers

Good morning. I finally caught up on some sleep last night and am feeling a little better. Today I did: - 10 minute barre with Hannah - 10 minute core with Rad - 10 minute arms toning with Emma - 30 minute Disney run with Becs (this was the cutest. She was having so much fun with it and so it just flew by)

I just got back from biking my kid to school! It's about a mile each way, and SO fun to be able to do that again. I now have the house to myself (to work in) until I go get my eyebrows waxed at 10.
I have a flash 15 ready to go for some point today, we'll see where that fits in to enjoying the quiet before I bike back to school for pickup.

MH used the tread last night for the first time in like a year? He did it under DD's username since he forgot his password, but she deleted the run right after. Girl is like nope, not under my name. 😂
He now wants to go get fitted for running shoes. Watch him exercise for a week and drop the weight like it's nothing. Men. 🙄🙄

Meanwhile, I did a 5 min warm up, a 20 min low impact ride, and then 10 min arms & light weights.
Honestly, my #s were awful and I did not feel like pedaling at all, but it was low impact and I just did enough to get my body moving. I also got a badge for 100 strength workouts, so yay.

Morning! I didn't check in yesterday but I got through the HCOF stack after a 30 minute 80s ride with Denis. He's such a dork, I love him.
I'm planning on doing the live Disney ride with Cody this afternoon, I know he was sick last week but I assume that's still on, it hasn't come off the schedule and he posted on IG a few days ago that he was feeling better.
I'll run tomorrow, I'm on week 3 of You Can Run (doing it all outdoors since no Tread).
Oh speaking of Treads though, did you all see that Peloton has announced a CPSC-blessed fix for the cheaper Tread, so those should go on sale in a month maybe? We are still going to hold out for the Tread+, though.
Taking the 7th grader over to get his ID photo taken and pick up his schedule for the first day of school in an hour or so. Then this afternoon I'll take the 2nd grader over to meet his new teacher and see the classroom ahead of tomorrow (she invited him to come see the classroom ahead of school starting because he has a lot of classroom-based anxiety, bless her). School starts tomorrow!!

Oh one more thing, I have FINALLY broken through the plateau and lost a couple more pounds. It's only three but I was stuck at one number for almost a year, so it feels like getting unstuck finally.

Today was the first day of school so it was a mad rush. I made it home from CF just before they woke up, so so at least I was home to help manage the chaos.
I'm so hungry today, even after my rest day yesterday. So far I've managed to keep it to my packed, high-protein snacks, but the calling of the Costco-sized bag of doritos in the break room is SO LOUD. I only have to hold out for another 1.5 hours.

First day of school here too! I immediately headed to the gym. So nice to have time to myself again.
5 minute warm up run with Jess 20 minute reggae run with Selena 30 minute Disney run with Becs
The Disney run was very fun, of course! I also walked the kids to school so my step count is already higher than it’s been in weeks.

I was supposed to donate blood this morning so I didn't plan any workouts for the day but the bloodmobile never showed up by the time I had to leave to go back to work. I ended up doing a 15 minute ride with Cody and a core workout.
Thanks for all the nice words yesterday as a sort of update I tried on a pair of jeans that did not fit earlier in the year and I was able to get them on and liked how they look so obviously something I'm doing is working Even if the scale doesn't show it.

20 min chest/back with Callie (I used 15s and 20s for this and was pretty happy about that!), 10 min light weights with Kendall, 10 min core with Robin, 10 min climb ride with Hannah C.
B - Trader Joes multigrain O's with strawberries, turkey bacon, fruit L - leftover catfish on 1 piece of bread sandwich + baked chips D - Skinnytaste Jamaican coconut shrimp stew S - pretzel, chocolate hummus, strawberries after dinner. Roasted bean snacks and a string cheese around 4pm b/c I was absolutely starving for some reason. Don't usually do the afternoon snack.

Evening all! Biked 7 miles today. Planning on doing a ride early tomorrow since I have biopsies scheduled and probably won’t be able to work out for a few days. I’m a little nervous with my family history of skin cancer…😕 CurlieWhirlie thanks for posting about the basic tread update, hoping to order when sales are back on. beerlover your soreness after weed pulling had me nodding…this morning I woke up super sore and thought maybe I was getting sick until I remembered I played a bunch of badminton yesterday. Go figure. shesellscshells hope your family is feeling better soon. Rusty Red ❤️ Totally understand personal life sucking the life out of workouts. I’ve been going through some stuff with family too and it’s just…hard.

30 minutes on the elliptical today. I was intimidated by the weight lifting circuit, I get self conscious. I’m going to try a woman’s only section of the gym next time.
B-Plain oatmeal with frozen blueberries
L-Leftover tortellini soup
D-Korean beef over brown rice
Snacks were mozzarella cheese and two pieces of dark chocolate. I had a dental appt this morning so I was numb half the day.

This week has not really gone according to expectations. All of us are sick (most likely just a cold), but I also found out one of the kids was exposed to COVID last week, so it’s been a whole thing getting everyone tested. 😑 So far 3/5 negative, results on the other 2 expected tomorrow. Between coughing and holding a fussy baby more than usual, one of the muscles under my shoulder blade is really hurting, so I’m going to have to try to stretch and work that knot out. So I guess my revised week goals are survival and less pain? Ugh so sorry. I hope the other two tests are negative and that you all get some rest and feel better ASAP!

I created a stack of running classes this morning and I made it through 2.5 miles with significant technical difficulties. I accidentally started the first class in the web browser and couldn't lock my phone and continue playing it, but luckily it was just a 5 min warm up. Then I switched to the app for the next class which went fine, but then the next run in the stack didn't show up when it was over. So I went back to the web browser and played it from there but it kept skipping around and finally backed out so I did about two min of that. So then I just picked a cool down run in the app and called it a day. If I wasn't so intent on hitting my century run for my bday in a few weeks, I would have just switched to Spotify.
I ended up walking several times to figure out the phone which messed up my pace, but overall the run itself was decent aside from persistent menstrual cramps. I do think the combo of my body needing more time and the weather were the culprits for my tough runs in July, because I've been doing much better this week.

first week of school for the kiddos and h has been oot since saturday. i am wiped and exhausted. I have no time to fit in my running/training. it's too damn hot between 3 and 5. oh well. at least my eating has been on point all week, right?

Hi everyone! I come back and forth over time here.
I have recently started getting into kettle bell moves and am going to do like kettle bell sport style stuff. I got really sore hamstrings on Monday when I started so I didn’t do Tuesday then yesterday I did more. My husband rolled out my hamstrings last night and I was practically weeping.
It feel so much better now though.
I’ll be doing more today, swings and triangles and I did some deep squats last time and I think I’ll do it again. It’s really fun doing it this way. It’s weight heavy but cardio ramps up so I love it.
I don’t track food at this time. I likely will have a protein shake some berries and yogurt and chicken for dinner with veggies and maybe salad. And a mug of Breyer chocolate ice cream because I love it.

3 mile run this morning. It felt good and I’m glad I got it done. I definitely wasn’t feeling it when I started, but I’m so happy I did it.
Good luck to everyone transitioning back to school. I go back to on Monday, but my kids don’t start for a few weeks.

Morning.
45 minute marathon race prep run with Becs for 5 miles and a 10 minute post run stretch with Robin. I still have a 20 minute yoga stacked for tonight. That's it for me today.
The kids and are going to Syracuse Saturday through Monday and my parents said I can take the time to do my long run Sunday outside, so yay! No long run on the tread this week.
My eating has been completely atrocious. My guts have been hating me for the last few days so I think today is just going to be all the fiber. I'm dying a little, really.

Kids went back to school today. H has the day off and we are tag teaming being at the hospital with his dad this morning. Yesterday was surgery day. Anyway, I was going to go home and run but it’s hot and I’m meeting H for lunch. It’s his birthday. I’ll run 5 hot humid miles this evening.

Decided to switch my rest day permanently from Friday to Thursday. Having the DQ day on Thursday gives me some extra energy for Friday's workout. So rest day today.
