So my vertigo finally eased up on Friday afternoon. Thanks for all the well wishes there!
However, the insane heat made my allergies flare up as well as my sinuses and so I've been dealing with that since Friday night. The sinus issues + stress likely brought on the vertigo.
So no workouts until I'm feeling better, including stopping the Road to 5k Program I had started after only two workouts in. Sigh. I haven't had allergies this bad or sinus issues since pre-covid and I've forgotten how wiped you can get.
Hugs to all who have been struggling.
High fives to all with victories, NSV or otherwise!

My trash lifting week seems to be over. Friday went ok with the stupid squat bar. First couple sets were harder than they were supposed to be, but by the last one things were on track. Bench went well on Saturday after being at the fair all day staking out where we would be. Probably got a little greedy trying for 225 given the circumstances, but 215 moved easy so I'm ok with that. Last night went well- 198 for some stupid easy sets of 2.
Weight is still on a good trend. No imminent changes coming, especially after last week being rough and competing this week. Couple suggestions for some minor changes to try to combat my issues last week, but really I think it was more of a perfect storm of too many things hitting at once (heat, high intensity training week, roughly a week before my period, fucking heat, probably slacking on water a little more than I should, I always have a couple workouts that go to absolute shit 2-3 weeks before a meet).

Made it to a spin class last night after being out of town this weekend. Also got my butt out of bed this AM to do about 15 minutes on the treadmill - I desperately need to regain my endurance. May add some strength classes tonight after the girls go down.
B: Coffee w oat milk; almondmilk yogurt with granola L: Quinoa salad, leftover pork, cucumber D: Baked potato and salmon
I think H and I agreed to do the September Whole30 as a reset - I always feel better when I am eating cleaner and I have been really bloated and uncomfortable the last few months because I haven't been listening to my body.

Well despite my efforts to medicate yesterday, my back is even worse today. Blah. I am assuming it is the same disc that is bulging again since it is pain in the exact same area. Apparently this is just going to happen once a year now. I am doing an involuntary rest day, which all of you know is so frustrating when on a good streak. I've been seeing a lot of progress in the last month so it feels discouraging to stop now but I know rest is what I need. I'm sorry about your back. It's super frustrating. I hope some rest makes it feel better soon.

30 minute morning yoga with Kirra, I don't think I like her very much, but I'm glad I did it.
I also did a slow 30 minute walk while on my morning check in call today, which I'm happy to have done!

Getting back into the groove post-vacation. Yesterday I did a short track workout— I need to do more of those. Today I was pressed for time, but I had PT, so that was a 90 minute workout. I can already feel it in my core. I’m looking forward to cooler temps this weekend for my long run.

I haven’t kept up here at all this month, but I’m jumping back in with the new month tomorrow. I’m 6 weeks pp on Friday, but I don’t have my appointment till next week. I’m sure I will be cleared; I had no tearing and feel good.
I took a mile stroller walk to and from DD2’s school to drop her off this morning, a 2.5 milk walk around the neighborhood before lunch, and I will take another mile walk to pick DD2 up this afternoon. I have also been loosely tracking macros at maintenance (with plenty of added allowance for breastfeeding), and letting myself go over if I’m hungry, because nursing hunger is insane.
I’m feeling good (albeit kind of tired) and ready to get back on the bike and back to strength soon.

cnf I literally ran out the door at exactly 4:30 to make Daniel's premier run, but I made it! It was a lot of fun. He is VERY good. Not awkward or jittery at all. Totally natural. I don't have any trouble with the accent because my ex-husband is from Armagh, but he joked about how people were using the subtitles feature on the tablet for him. Two thumbs up, recommend!

Evening.
20 min full body with Matty, 10 min bodyweight with Adrian, 10 min core with Olivia. No bike again because I spent most of the day trying to get DS a Covid test. Apparently, in central PA, it's still not as easy as it sounds. The first urgent care we went to refused to test him because he wasn't exposed and hasn't had symptoms for that long. The second one we went to did test him, but I could tell they thought I was insane for pushing it (especially because he's 95% better today). They would only do a PCR and not a rapid, which is what I wanted, but said I should have results tomorrow so fine, I guess. This is what I get for trying to do the right thing, pain in the ass.
B - waffles, turkey bacon, nectarine L - chicken noodle soup, Asian salad mix D - Skinnytaste turkey sausage and orecchiette with spinach S - not sure, maybe Yasso bar. I'm sick of all my snacks.

8 mile run outside this morning. The app was glitchy which distracted me and kept me from really getting in the zone, but it was fine. I ran in between work meetings so I was in a random area of our county instead of one of normal spots. The change in scenery was so nice!
20 min hip hop run with Kirsten- liked her! 20 min pop punk run with Matt 45 min trap run with Adrian HCOTF planned for tonight

I did 30 minutes on the bike today, never got in my strength work. My 3 yo, who is my mellow one, has been such a pain lately and demanded a lot of my attention today. The past 2.5 weeks since summer school ended have been LONG.
My school year officially starts with PD tomorrow and I can't wait to get out of my house and away from my kids and talk to people who are not my husband!

Can I pop in to ask some advice? I tried searching previous threads, but didn't come up with much. Does anyone have experience/tips for running when it's dark outside?
I used to do it in our old neighborhood occasionally, but it was well lit with streetlights. My current neighborhood is generally considered very safe, and we have two miles of paved trails that I know by heart.
I tried it for the first time last week, but it was after "first light," so I could see a little bit. I ordered a head lamp thing. I decided to buy some pepper spray, because it did feel a little spooky. I haven't carried pepper spray to run for 10 years, but there is quite a bit of wildlife out that time of night. (Nothing dangerous like bears around me.)
Is this dumb? Should I just run on the treadmill?
FYI I am usually only going about 2-2.5 miles, no more than 5K probably.
