I'm sorry about your back goldenbird! It's a recurring injury? I pulled something on the right side right where my butt ends and my back begins last October. Pulling on skinny jeans 😳. I wore those same jeans in March and aggravated the same area. This time I think it was too many 45-60 minute elliptical times too close together and extra lifting my kid. 🤷🏼♀️

I’m sorry about your back goldenbird. I hope you heal quickly! beatch that Ragnar race sounds amazing! I’m sorry about your ankle thought I agree with CurlieWhirlie that Bradley tries to hard and is very cringy. I was going to run today, but I woke up and saw it was 94 percent humidity, so I decided to do a ride instead. I did Cody’s most recent 20 minute 90s ride and worked up a good sweat.

Everyone says that Bradley guy is terrible - what does he do that’s so bad? Terrible voice? I haven’t taken any of his classes but I guess I’ll continue to just stick with my favourites? He just doesn't come across as genuine to me. I have only taken one class with him and all of his "woo's!" and "yeah's!" were just so distracting. I hope eventually he will feel more comfortable and start to tone it down.

I foam rolled and meditated this morning. I’m planning on doing my physical therapy after work.

Monday again. I can't believe it's the end of August. Yesterday I decided to retake one of the earliest rides I ever took. I think it was #16, and almost exactly a year ago: Robin's 30min Dolly ride. Yesterday, same ride, I improved my total output by 41%! Feeling good about that NSV

Morning.
Got in a 5 mile run to an older Matty interval workout that was so good. Will likely take it again. Squeezed in a 5 minute core too. I had a flash 15 stacked too, but I'm feeling meh about anything else right now. Maybe tomorrow. I forgot I signed up for the August core challenge so I've been throwing in loads of 5 minute core burners. Ouch!
I need to meal plan and grocery shop today, but it'll be a weird week so I don't even really know what to do. Tuesday MIL comes to stay the night because I have to go into our opening conference day at work Wednesday. Then Friday we leave for Hershey Park in the morning.
All I know is we have pizza, cake, and way too much ice cream left over, so I assume that's on today's menu for me, lol.
Also, today is the baby's birthday. I'm having a load of feelings about being done with babies. Stupid hormones.

an HIH ragnar team would be amazzzzing. jorkzy I think he just has a super hyper/goofy personality that can come across as annoying. I don't mind him actually. He is super funny on instagram too, I think that is just his personality combined with what was said earlier about just needing to settle in a bit. I finished week 1 of build your power zones yesterday, so onto week 2! rest day today. Feeling good though, took the time to make myself eggs for breakfast.

Awesome job notblanche! That's an impressive jump! No working out for me today, but I'm starting to be able to see my left ankle bone which is good news! Guess I'll be using my rowing machine a lot more in the near future 😁

Happy Birthday baby cnf!!! I can’t believe he is one! I started hanging out here a lot more at the beginning of the pandemic and now so many life events have taken place in the past 18 months. It’s really crazy to think about.

He's not *that* bad, he just tries way too hard and it's so obvious he's trying to pour on the charm....it's very cringey and distracting. To me. But I still take his rides every once in a while if he has a playlist I really like, it's not like he's so bad I will never ever ride with him. Yes, it feels like he is trying to emulate Cody but it’s not his personality type so it comes across as forced. His true vibe seems more like Ben, I think if he leaned into that more I’d like him better.

CD1 (I think, it hasn't actually happened yet) is kicking my butt, so I skipped my planned run for a walk this morning. It was lovely, especially because this weekend was busy with normal exercise and then starting to prep our house for sale.
DD said something this weekend that broke my heart. She's newly 7, and is tall for her age, and very proportional/leaning towards skinny (I still have to make her pants smaller at the waist with those button things). She told us that she wishes her legs (thighs) were skinnier. I had no idea what to do, except to reinforce that we think she's perfect in every way, love her no matter what, and that I don't want her to worry about things she can't change about her body. If she wants her legs to be skinnier because there's something she can't do, that's one thing, but they can do everything she wants them to how she is right now. Does anyone else hear talk like that from their kids? We intentionally don't model it AT ALL, so I'm not sure where it came from. She can bike 8 miles without a struggle, runs, swims, climbs, etc., so I focused on that in our conversation.

Thanks y'all. I worked for five hours and now I'm home with an ice pack. MH massaged the area some and hopefully that's not a bad idea? It's really near the base of my spine so I don't know if that's ok or not. I'm just going to be laying down whenever I'm not actively doing something at home.

We talk all the time about being strong and all the things our bodies allow us to do. We never talk badly about our bodies in front of our kids. But it's so inevitable. DD2 has talked about her big belly a few times. She notices how after she eats it gets rounder. But this is the kid who couldn't keep weight on and needed pediasure supplementing for a long time because she dropped off the weight chart. I'm sorry your kiddo is already fighting the bullshit that is our society's messed up view on body imagine. Keep talking about strong and capable. Remind her that her legs let he do everything she wants and more. You're doing the right things. Just keep reinforcing the good 💜

goldenbird do you do any intentional core strength work? I had a similar issue a few years ago, and learned that core work that seems to focus on abs actually strengthens back too.

potatocakes ughhhh that’s so hard! Did she say why she wanted her thighs to be skinnier, or why she feels that would better? You’re doing an awesome job, modeling positive body image for her!

beatch that sounds like it was a great time minus the injury. I have friends that bike and swim so we joked about doing a relay Sprint triathlon if they exist. My husband and I could do the running. 20 minutes upper body today. I need to get back to tracking my food. I'd like to drop about 5 lb before the 17th. We have a food and wine festival that weekend so it'd be nice to go into it a little lower.
