For those that read The Sanatorium, I saw that there will be a sequel coming next year. It had that weird epilogue, so at least that explains the ambiguous ending. I know many of us (me included) hate read it but Iโll probably still give the sequel a try! I don't think I can help myself, I'll probably read it

Iโm also really hoping that tatorhead328 will read and live blog this one. I really enjoyed her review of the first one.

I finished Alice Network and enjoyed it more than I expected. I didn't know about the female spy networks and thought that was pretty interesting. I right the present day timeline was a little far fetched though. Talk about far fetched... I'm halfway through Dial A for Aunties and so far I'm not loving it. It is a quick read, so I'll finish it today or tomorrow. Next up is Golem Girl by Riva Lehrer. I didn't like Dial A for Aunties - much too far fetched. I am currently reading Neon Gods, an erotic-ish retelling of Hades and Persephone and I am hooked.

I finished The People We Keep today and ughโฆ. I started it and immediately thought I would love it. I loved the writing. But after a bit, it really started to read like a YA novel. The main character was all over the place with her thoughts. There were relationships in the story that were just messed up. It was higher ranked than most of the other BOTM picks I have tried, and like I said, it started out great for me, but I did not end up enjoying it.

I was 70% through One Last Stop and my ebook loan got retuned to the library ๐ Now I'm back on a super long hold list to read the ending. So annoying, but my fault for taking to long to start it. I was having issues staying hooked on it, though. I enjoyed the writing and the story, it just seemed so long.
I just finished Any Way the Wind Blows, the final book in Rainbow Rowell's Simon Snow trilogy. I always tear through these books, for whatever reason. The second book annoyed me, so I was glad that this one was much more satisfying.

I finished the house of broken angels out of sheer determination. Itโs one of those books that are beautifully written but drags on and on. There were so many characters that it got confusing too. Iโd try something else by this author, but I didnโt care for this one.
I am flying through pachinko.

Iโve been stuck (in a good way) in the Edge of Collapse series. Itโs an apocalyptic series which isnโt my norm but Iโve been enthralled. I want to know how this ends.

I need some recommendations for a good coming of age novel. I love reading those, but Iโm realizing itโs been quite a while since Iโve read one. The Heartโs Invisible Furies was one of my favorites. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

I finished Neon Gods and loved it so much. It was fun, steamy as hell and kept me hooked. Highly recommend if you like very very steamy novels.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn The Kite Runner I Capture the Castle Cider House Rules The secret life of bees The Outsiders I like Julia Alvarez and I think a lot of her stuff has coming of age elements.

I finished It Happened One Summer yesterday. I thought it was okay. I think it helped that you guys lowered my expectations going in, lol. I enjoyed the characters and I'm excited for the characters in the second book so hopefully that one is better.
My friend is making me read It Ends With Us. I've been putting it off because I haven't been in the mood for sad.

I finished Pachinko. Very good but long. I think it starts in the 1920s and goes all the way to 1989.
Iโm ready for something lighter. I picked up a duke, a lady, and a baby by Vanessa Riley.

Whew, school starting is brought my reading to a screeching halt. I finished In My Dreams I Hold a Knife last night, and it was a really solid thriller. About a group of seven best friends at an elite college, and one ends up dead. No one was ever charged with the murder. Now the friends are all back for a 10 year reunion and secrets are exposed.

I am worried starting work at the office again will hinder my reading. I don't know why because I am not reading during the day, but I guess because I start dinner later which cuts into my reading time.

I think Iโve been reading too much. Everything is just kind blah. House By the Cerulean Sea was meh. Bookish Life of Nina Hill had a few really great parts, but was ok. I have the Royal Holiday from the library and Iโm not even interested.

Finally finished Local Woman Missing. I flew through the first half but then didn't have much reading time so it took me awhile to finish. Overall I really enjoyed it and thought it was a good page turner. There were a few story holes that bugged me and I guessed the ending pretty quickly but I would still say it's one of the better thrillers I have read recently.
Pretty sure I want to read another. Any suggestions?

Iโm usually very good at figuring out what is going on way before the end but Local Woman Missing actually surprised me! I donโt think I figured out any of the twists beforehand. So youโre not alone!

I liked People We Meet on Vacation a lot. I didnโt expect it to be so straightforward romantic comedy, but it was just what I needed in my life!

Any suggestions? I know Iโve recommended her here before but have you tried any of Sharon Boltonโs mysteries? I really like her and enjoyed her latest, The Pact. I also thought her book Little Black Lies was great.
