I saw Penelope (nn Poppy) come up a few times, and that's my DD's name, so I'm a fan.
On my list of names I loved but will never use are: Calliope Marigold (nn Mari) Coco Winifred (nn Winnie)

So you pronounce it like SweetPotato does, haha. This is like Mary, merry, and marry all over again The pronunciation game is the worst. Your fetus is at fault for this. And FTR I say Mary, Merry and Marry the same too.

Hail like ale. Hay like A just A and if that doesn't work I give up! I think the ale pronunciation becomes ayul, right SweetPotato? Yep - both two syllables for me

This is kind of weird, but I really wanted to name a girl Ramona and call her Mo. I think MH just stared at me when I suggested it, but I think it would be cute.

Yeah, I know "of" the other ways to say it, I've just never heard a human named that in my real life say it another way. I actually had a manager at the gap in NJ and a girl I work with now in CA and they were both Loo-sha

Im a Californian that pronounces things the same way as Texan SweetPotato. Ale is basically two syllables, although I don’t have the Texan drawl.

Obligatory - mary, merry and marry are all different pronunciations.
Marigold! I love that name, too. I’d probably shorten it to Goldie.
Rosalie shortened to Rosie is also a favorite.

Hail like ale. Hay like A just A and if that doesn't work I give up! I can’t believe I’m here but here I am. This makes no sense. Haylie = Hailey or whatever else spelling because an L follows both the Hay/Hai. Unless Hay and Hai are pronounced differently for you.

And I just stared at him and said, “the mom on ‘Who’s the Boss?’” Is it too late to take his dad privileges away? All the Monas I’ve ever known were mean old ladies. Apparently it was quite a popular name in the 1930s and 40s.
