My hairstylist was telling me today that her whole family of ILs is all in on homeopathic medicine so they got the “homeopathic” covid vaccine which, when she showed me the photo that her SIL sent her, it was a vial with what looked like tiny bath beads with a scotch taped label that said “virus”. …. She said her SIL wouldn’t say if there were studies (duh no) or any medical info on the vaccine. But even their kids had been “vaccinated” so they were all “safe”. I told my stylist that I was sorry she and her family would not be seeing them for a while. She agreed but man. What a whole bunch of woo woo fake science. I wonder what they paid for their “vaccine”. OMG is this like an SNL skit? What in the world?! |

Armpit temps would be such a hassle compared to just using the infrared ones that are all over the place now days. I guess them doing something is better than nothing though. We didn't go in the building from mid March 2020-end of May 2021 and they used a forehead one for temps during that time. Then no temps and us going in starting June 1. Since cases are going up so much they're starting temps again. We'll see. What happened to their infrared thermometers since May? Under arm thermometers seem like such a weird choice. |

My dad got his second Astra Zeneca shot today. So now ally parents have all vaxx doses. Yay!
MH has his second shot this week and mine is next Monday. Wooo!

Since cases are going up so much they're starting temps again. We'll see. What happened to their infrared thermometers since May? Under arm thermometers seem like such a weird choice. They are doing the temps at each classroom entrance instead of at the entrance to the building so they need like a dozen thermometers. I guess that factors into it? But I'm not sure. |

We're still planning on traveling to the US in 3 weeks and I'm so stressed about it. Is it the right thing to do? Should I just go alone? How can I keep the DDs safe on the 23hr trips? How can we safely see relatives who will have to travel to see us? I've got a massive headache today from clenching my jaw over all this stress 😫

LOLOL. You’re not worried about Lolla? You don’t need a vaccine to attend. And you just need an in the moment negative test. Or a fake test. Like I wouldn’t trust Lolla crowds with a ten foot pole. Like how many people test negative and then a few days later are positive? Come on son. *my irritation is not directed at you, rather, the world at large. |

I think it's important data because it gives a window into the folks who will not be getting vaccinated. Then we can focus on the hesitant ones a la the Ed Yong article. At the very least, the current data show 69% of people over the age of 18 have at least one shot. |

We're all still healthy and safe. MN is a good area for vaccination rates but we brought quick tests if anyone was worried before meeting up and to leave some with my mom since they're so cheap in Germany. If you're worried I would spend most of the time outside but our kids especially loved seeing my family again and my mom's cats and being back in the U.S. I'm so happy we went. Just an anecdote for ya. |

What I’m seeing in the industry is more and more mandates and it gets easier now that some large health systems have done it. It’s absolutely the right thing to do and I hope come fall every health system that has it as a mandate uses it as a marketing opportunity. I would not seek care at a system that didn’t mandate it if I had options. |

addymac, fair point. Maybe I should have said equally concerned about large events like Lolla as I am concerned about such low vaccine uptakes in areas of the City - and from everything I read and heard, the City did a pretty good job at making the vaccine available widely and equitably. Maybe Delta will drive up vaccination rates in all areas?

My work is requiring it even for full time remote positions. And I’m here for it. They were wishy washy for a bit and now they must have gotten legal approval because it turned to strict plane real fast.

Even the Fifth Circuit (TX, LA, MS) allows for mandatory vaccinations or alternative safety measures. Granted those decisions were prior to COVID, but it's pretty settled law at this point. |

Our hospital sent out an email mandating employees to get the vaccine by Oct. 1. Our union sent an email out saying they’ve schedule a meeting to discuss 🙄 and asking us to respond if we approve of the mandatory vaccination or not, and if not why. I’m like HOLY SHIT I DONT CARE ITS NOT IN THE CONTRACT JFC. |
