tgrimes I would feel the same way. Pissed at the Drs, pissed at myself, sad, worried. I'm sorry all this is happening. I hope you get some answers. I would want to sit down with the pedi as well.

I would really be scratching my head too and not be happy with all those doctors that missed the issue tgrimes. Not sure how angry you are, but is it enough to make you want to switch pedis altogether? And I did see that dino @ xolastunicornxo! Its so cute. I am glad you won him.

I'm on my lunch at work. I got a crazy text from DH that he had a disastrous morning at home with V before daycare drop off. Can't wait to hear how hard it is to care for our child. As if I haven't been doing that for over three years. Reminds me of DH complaining on vacation that my parents weren't around to help out when he needed them while I took a work call. He took calls daily, leaving me to watch - GASP - our own kids ALL BY MYSELF. The horror.

tgrimes I am with everyone else...don't blame yourself. You can't go back. No good will come out of dwelling on the past. Just move forward and look to what you can do in the here and now. I don't think I've ever talked about this...but S actually had a few seizures as an infant. It was when she was 2 weeks old. We had been released from the hospital and were home for 1 week in between all her multiple shunt issues that first 6 weeks. We weren't sure what was happening (her arms shook, kinda like the startle reflex, but continuously for a few minutes) and seizures didn't register in our brains for some reason. We did call the on call neurologist at the hospital (3 hours away) to discuss with them but did not get very conclusive advice and ultimately did not take her in. We mentioned it when we ended up back in the hospital a few days later. But no one seemed overly concerned so I dropped it. Fast forward a year, and she started having a different kind of seizure. And they got bad. She was having up to 75 a day at their worst. Once she got diagnosed with Epilepsy and got on medication that helped I kept dwelling on the fact that I should have done more when I suspected something not right when she was an infant. I was mad at myself and mad at the drs. But her very wise neurologist who I loved told me that the past didn't matter. What matters it what we are doing now. What actions are we taking to move forward and help her with now. And with that...I let it go. All that to say....there are a million "what if's". And I know your worried and you want to blame yourself, the pedi, the urgent care, etc for not catching it sooner. But the fact is YOU did catch it! Now you can move forward with a plan. I'm so glad you were persistent in getting it checked out. So good catch momma! Look forward...not back! ETA: I do understand how you must be feeling though. And I'm so sorry that your having to deal with this. Much love to you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

tgrimes girl I'd be pissed too, in fact I am pissed for you. The whole point of well checks is to make sure your child is growing correctly. Otherwise why would we bring them in a billion times the first 2 years of their lives? Along with all the other appts, I can't believe not one doctor caught it. Don't blame yourself, you've been doing the best you can for him with the information you were given. I hope it's an easy fix and he's happy and healthy soon.

Potty training update:
1) This sucks! I'm not good at this. 2) we have precisely ZERO success so far this morning.
She's napping now with a diaper on, then we have swim lessons. I'm not feeling positive about this today. Praying tomorrow is a new beginning.

Hi girls, made the thread but didn't say anything else. Stupid day at work, correcting other people's mistakes and being condescended by co-workers who feel superior. We've completely weaned dd from her medication and it's a nightmare... she's up multiple times every evening and a lot more than usual during the night. Talked to my gp, her stomach acid can increase for a short period of time after weaning, which causes a lot of pain. For now we've decided to treat the pain until the weekend to see if that helps, if it doesn't get better in the next few days, we're back on omeprazol. I feel helpless and exhausted. Fingers crossed it will get better.

Potty training update #2:
I'm making brownies to cope with the stress. Maybe I can use them as bribery...if only she understood how that worked.

I'm sorry nam2013. I hope it's just a short time and she levels out. We didn't have a problem when C weaned off but he was off it by 5 mos as his GI system developed so I think it's likely a different situation. Poor girl. Poor you!

lfig is there a push to get her trained? Yes and no... There are 2 things holding her back from moving up to the next room at day care. 1 being potty trained and 2 being a safety issue because she is still very oral, sticking everything (small things) in her mouth. And MH...he and I are often on opposite ends of things. I think he holds his standards too high for her, expects her to behave in ways that she's not capable of yet. Expects too much of her. ... Then there is me... I'm probably too easy on her. And don't hold her as accountable as I should for things. I worry that she's not ready for things...developmentally. But I then I worry about holding her back because of that. I tend to give in to her easily. And so that has been a bit of back and forth with us on the potty training issue. But I'm soooo ready for her to be potty trained. Diaper changes are getting extremely difficult, with her fighting me on them. Plus she has been....ummm....digging in her diaper 🤢after pooping if we don't catch it right away. NOT delightful! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Both boys all of a sudden will not tell us when they go poop. And if we don't happen to smell it or check them, it goes unnoticed for a while. They both have horrible diaper rashes from it and it's driving me nuts. I can't get them to understand they need to tell me. They cry at every change because of the rash but can't get the connection of the 2.

peachsmama, Maddie liked to marinade in her pee...and sometimes poo. So gross. The people in charge of my course I'm leaving for SUN didn't send me any info and I've been trying to get it for a week. Finally got it today. I have over 80 pages of reading to complete before the first day of class...all on stuff I do not care about in the slightest. This should be great fun.

Just finished the interview. It went ok. The hiring manager kind of offered me a different staff position on the spot but that was below the position I was there for (the director position manages the staff). So maybe it didn't go so well then.

My friend and I were having a health care discussion and at one point I said "BECAUSE ITS THE RIGHT FUCKING THING TO DO" She screen shot our conversation and used it in a class discussion in her nursing program. I'm like uh.. You cropped out that line. RIGHT?! She did not.

I just had some very unsatisfying chocolate pie. The crust tasted like it had been deep fried and the whipped cream had zero flavor, like they forgot sugar. Well, that was disappointing.

lfig none of my 3 kids responded to bribes, staying home for days at a time, or any other tried and true potty training methods. All 3 though when the decided they were ready, they did it out of no where and with few accidents. T first pooped on the potty on June 30 when I had exactly 6 minutes to get ready for my anniversary dinner. He showed zero interest before that. He hasn't had an accident since. It will come. tgrimes thinking of you.
