jaygee That would be a very difficult jury to serve on. The thought of what happened to those families breaks my heart, that their chance at babies was destroyed outside of their control. Oof. I don't think I'd be able to be impartial just knowing that one vague description of the case. I know, right? And it seems the case was going to be that it was user error that caused the malfunction. So there is definitely a chance that this case won’t be in the plaintiffs favor but their loss and pain is still real and true. Very tough stuff.

jaygee That is so upsetting. I was wondering the stage of the case -- a lot of times in those kinds of cases the business will accept fault but then the trial is on the issue of damages only. How difficult that it will be also whether they are liable.

willow, I am also sensitive to cinnamon (and like a gazillion foods), but if you only tested in the moderate, you may have good luck taking it out for a while and slowly introducing it back in. I have also switched to ceylon cinnamon, which is usually better tolerated than regular cinnamon which has the toxin coumarin (which isn't going to kill you in regular amounts of course, but if you are sensitive to cinnamon can be aggravating). I also find mild and most moderate foods I can tolerate in smaller amounts for the most part, but if I am really struggling with my digestion, taking them all out usually makes a big difference to reset (like a couple of days). I can't tolerate any mustard or curry when I am struggling and just try to avoid them. Also if a food is cooked you might tolerate it better than raw or unprocessed (like I test high to almonds- almond milk is fine for me). I know you say you aren't interested in dietary restriction, but low fodmap also makes a difference for me and is also helpful when things are really bad. Some of my other non-obvious high stuff are stone fruits, cranberry, celery, lettuce, flax seeds, etc. My insides are a wreck. Lovetit because my GP says that trying FODMAPS would be the next step for sorting out my IBS. Though increasing the dosage of my SSRI is helping a lot right now, so hopefully it won’t be necessary for awhile. If I have to go that route, I may ask to pick your brain about it. H was low FODMAP for a while so lmk if you want recipes

I heard that story on NPR yesterday and was cracking up. It is SO GROSS. 😂 I need a stronger word than gross, but yes. Ewwww. Apparently it can be really dangerous for dogs so don't let your pets eat the cicadas

willow we've noticed a cumulative effect too. So if I'm sensitive to eggs and tomatoes and I have French toast one day, I definitely don't have spaghetti the next day, kwim?

I ordered an everlywell kit. Hopefully can help me figure out what I’m sensitive to besides dairy. 🤞🏻

Oh my gosh, POTUS is giving the medal of honor to a 94 year old Korean war veteran, hes in a wheelchair but two other officers helped him to stand up on the stage and for some reason its bringing tears to my eyes.

I just got an email survey from my workplace re: lactation rooms.
I let them have it. My "designated lactation room" was a supply closet that had an outlet. The day I returned to work I was told thats where it was and I went in there - no one had even bothered to put a chair in the for me, much less any spot to put my pump. Plus it was so full of things being stored in there that actually belonge there, I didn't have room. I said fuck that and pumped at my cubicle desk for 10 months, nips out. Fuck them. I'm still salty 2 years later.

fatpony I got that email too. I have never had to BF in our building because of the pandemic and also because I chose not to BF but I do know where the room was. It was a closet thing inside the women's bathroom. I never looked in there but it seemed so terribly unappealing.

fatpony ughhh lactation rooms are one of the things I know get so pissed about. Tons of states have no legislation specifying and protecting breastfeeding mothers, and it’s so infuriating. FLSA provides like no protection at all to tons of working, breastfeeding moms. It’s all just at the whim of your manager. I used to work in a huge federal building, and the room closest to me was a closet off the bathroom open to visitors and employees. I always walked the extra 5-10 min to get to the more private one where I didn’t have to hear toilets flushing constantly. Do not care that that ate up an extra 20-30 min of my day.

Maybe having some recipes will help me get started.

Some of my son’s 2T shorts have bigger pockets than some of my adult shorts. I bought some men’s shorts because I wanted a longer inseam and a less tight fit. That is when I learned how deep men’s pockets are and there is another pocket in one of the pockets. Such bull.

We have no windows or doors open and I can hear the cicadas over my husband mowing in the backyard 😳 Did you know cicadas are attracted to noise? The last cycle I was caught in, I remember them adoring air conditioners, noisy car engines and lawn mowers. Are cicadas attracted to the sound of lawnmowers and other machinery? Yes, cicadas are attracted to the sound of lawnmowers, weed whackers, hedge trimmers, etc. Female cicadas think that these machines are males singing, and male cicadas show up to join the other males in what we call a “chorus”. www.cicadamania.com/cicadas/periodical-cicada-fun-facts-to-help-you-survive-a-cicada-invasion/#:~:text=%20Yes%2C%20cicadas%20are%20attracted%20to%20the%20sound,periodical%20cicadas%3F%20Their%20strategy%20is%20called%20%E2%80%9Cpredator%20satiation%E2%80%9D.

I could first hear them Thursday and the sound has gotten progressively louder and closer to our house each day.
We also have a blue jay family doing flying lessons to 3 baby birds this weekend in our backyard. You can’t get outside without getting dive bombed by a parent. DH said one of them dragged claws through his hair last night when he went to water the flowers 😂

H and I just got back from our first date night since last Februaryyyyyyyyy
We went to the national portrait gallery and just wandered in silence for hours enjoying the museum, and then got dinner at Zaytinya (our favorite José Andres restaurant group place) . It was a beautiful clear night with good art and good food. Balm for my soul.
