Morning! Just did a new daycare tour for a daycare in our neighbourhood. I already love it so much but they have waitlists for every group. Ideally I would love DS to transfer to their preschool in April and just put this baby on the wait list for January 2019. I am literally keeping all of my fingers and toes crossed, but you know the waitlist is long when they don't even tell you how long your looking at! Oh well I guess

Good morning! We might head to the park in bit. Taking a break on the potty training front, he just wasn't getting and it was driving me bonkers. Potty training is no joke. I keep thinking if this was the right thing to do since I was almost a week in. My sanity needs a break and the kid could care less about being in a diaper! Will try again in a week or so. I would really like him to be trained when he starts school in September. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I am a bit terrified of this. E just turned 2 in May so we are not behind by any means but it would sure be nice to have this under wraps. He asks to sit on the potty and will try (sometimes) but he hasn't been successful yet. Isn't there like a week long camp that I can send him away to and have him come back trained?! lol

To clarify (bc I've heard people talk about shipt before & ive been confused) the $99 is for the service right? You pay for your groceries on top of that correct? It sounds super cool & probably so nice not to go to the store! As much as I'd like that, our commissary prices are unreal, like a package of organic chicken breasts is $4. Publix would be $10-12. Also tax-free so our savings there are ridiculous. My issue is we live 15 min from base (not bad) but the parking is horrible. They built a new commissary last year in the Parking lot of the old one & now they are tearing down the old one to make more parking but until then we literally have maybe 50 spots haha. So I drive in circles forever waiting to get a spot. Once I'm in there it's maybe a 20 minute trip bc I'm super fast. Hence the rejoicing over being able to use the expectant moms spot for the next 6-7 months!!! Yes, the $99/year (or you can pay monthly) is for the service itself. You play for the groceries (prices listed in the app which may be different than in store sale prices) and tip the delivery person/shopper (same person) through the app. I find that I spend less overall in groceries because I have less impulse items ending in my cart. It won't touch commissary prices I'm sure but I think I'll keep using the service. It will be especially helpful this winter when I'm hugely pregnant or after delivery. We do something similar, but usually we just pick it up at the grocery store (just pull up and they pack up the trunk). If I've got zero time, we have them deliver it. Totally agree that we end up spending less on groceries bc no impulse buys and I buy the on sale brand of whatever is on my grocery list. Love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello! Had my OB appt this am, and I somehow convinced my H to be team green this time around! So we had the cf DNA drawn but not getting sex chromosomes... hopefully I'll still have this resolve when we have the anatomy ultrasound!
I'm touring a daycare with DS tomorrow. Right now we have a live in nanny, who is awesome, but I feel so bad for DS that he really doesn't have buddies to play with. The kids in our neighborhood are a little older, and none of my close friends have kids yet (despite the fact that I'm 32). I want him to go at least part time. What should I be asking during this tour?

I was thinking the same rebeccabunch , I also love grocery shopping. I find it relaxing and I would miss going to the store! I love walking up and down the aisles and seeing what's new. And as a 2 person household, our weekly grocery amount is higher than what I'm seeing here....oops!

My grocery store does the $5.99 or free over $100 for pickup or delivery but the turnaround times are not great (I am a procrastinator and when I get around to making a list I usually need the groceries right that minute, having the store do it is 24 hours+ turnaround). I don't mind grocery shopping but it is hard to plan it around two kids who have alternate nap times.
I did end up taking a few water breaks mowing but it was because I got stung by wasps twice!! What the hell. Little fuckers

If they aren't super busy when I place my order I can have them delivered in an hour or so. If I place the order late at night I can do the next morning. And I hate all stinging/biting bugs. Bees and wasps are the worst.

Good afternoon!
+a zillion to home warranties being complete shit. H bought one when we moved in last year (without consulting me!). When our fridge broke they sent someone out, who looked at it, and told us that actually it was working.
For reference, the fridge temp was in the 50's and the freezer couldn't freeze ice. So...
We had someone come out 3 times, because we kept complaining, and they never fixed it. They did nothing! And you would think that's one of the few things they do, fix refrigerators. Anyway, warranty is obviously cancelled by now. And we bought a new fridge.

"Oh, the buyer is providing a one year home warranty, if something major breaks I won't have to pay for it" It is complete bullshit. They fight you every step of the way and when it gets "fixed" the repair is usually worthless.

I parked in the expectant moms spot at our commissary today (grocery store on base) and felt like a fraud bc I'm still not showing at 14w. But hey I know I'm pregnant & it cut my trip in half bc it takes almost as long to find a parking spot as it does to drive to the commissary so I'm taking full advantage of this now! Also got our weekly groceries for $37 so feeling like a boss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Girl do not feel like a fraud, I have parked in that spot at my grocery twice already and I'm only 11 weeks lol!

I think some kids benefit from being trained later than others. It will eventually click plus everything is so much harder when we are pregnant. He's 2.5 so on the older end. We'll get there we just def need I break, I was pushing too hard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My Kroger offers the "shop for you and just pick it up" for free. Right now I don't use it because I like taking DS to the grocery store. He enjoys it and it's something to do lol. Once this baby comes however, I'm sure I'll use it weekly. I spend a lot on groceries. $150 a week usually. I buy only organic though so I think that's mainly why.

pippiann we had tried potty training a few months ago and it was a disaster. Like you I wanted to keep going because it had already been so long. Except I'm too stubborn and let it go on way way too long. It was awful. Anyway it's so much easier this time around so I think you are doing the right thing by calling it and trying again in a few weeks. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

DS2 will be 2 months shy of 3 when we kick it off and I'm only doing it because his little pre preschool is starting. DS1 was ready but I think DS2 will be much harder. I totally bought into that book except for the 3 is too late thing.

Sorry I'm sooo behind! We are just driving back from Banff now. I think just over 2 hours left to go! We had a great week, busy busy with a 2 and 4 year old and being pregnant tired, but it was good. We have tomorrow and Wednesday to do all the laundry, groceries, and get ready to leave for our next camping trip on Thursday! But it's only 3 nights and a little over an hour away so it's a bit less planning anyway!
Hope all have been well, trying to catch up a bit!

I can't believe that some of us are already in the 2nd trimester! I am almost there too! I also got my genetic testing results both negative! Woot, now all that is we are waiting for is the carrier testing. Feels good.

rebeccabunch I know he'll be ready when he's ready and I completely don't think 3 is late, screw what the book says! I just want him potty trained by the time this Bebe pops out and I will be happy! 😊 ETA: realistically 3 is a perfect age. If earlier great but that's when it will probably happen. So I took my first increased dose of my seizure med. Definitely felt some side effects but two were that I felt extremely relaxed and super tired. I was able to nap while DS did so we managed. I can handle it.
