I feel like this episode was extremely predictable. We knew that rescue mission would never work… way too easy. We knew Serena couldn’t actually be patient enough to come up with a good solid plan to escape with Noah, so I was not at all surprised to see her run away. I did enjoy and was pleasantly surprised by the slaps across Serena’s face from the wife. I’m annoyed that their house maid (like their Martha) seems to be sympathetic towards Serena, because fuck her. Also no sympathy for Lawrence. Also not at all surprised by the gunfire at the memorial at the end of the episode. I think it's easier to be sympathetic towards Serena when the wife is being so cruel. I'm sure the Martha was bearing the brunt of that before. And the cry it out with a 1 month old 😩 The Martha was probably doing most of the care Ugh. As I have a 5 week old I almost cried when the wife said the thing about cry it out. I was like noooo 😭😭😭😭😭

I’m always so confused about America/Canada and whose on whose side 🤦🏼♀️ Like the commanders talking about shooting down the Americans.. I should have rewatched some because I always feel lost lol And what was the genetics comment about with Nicks wife??😳😳😳 I have been wondering if they did rescue Hannah how traumatic that would be for her, essentially taking her from the new life she now knows…I was happy to see that she still remembers who she is and I hope they show more of her. I think Nick's wife has a hip issue? I wonder if that will set the stage for him to want to leave Gilead. What happens to babies with genetic disorders?

Finally a good episode. I felt this season was off, but now I’m excited to see where they go from here

I felt like this episode didn't really fit with the rest of the season. The tone was very different and I didn't think it was a great episode. To me it almost felt like they just mashed a bunch of stuff together as an afterthought. Also pretty predictable though
Of course Luke didn't get on the train and of course Serena did. How did she get papers? How long had it been since the last episode? Where was she hiding?
I also had a brief thought of "oh, now these siblings will be together", but they're not actually siblings because Nick fathered Nicole. And it just hit me they both have N names
I was surprised they had Nick lash out, he's been so "cool" about maintaining his position, finally signed a deal with the Americans, and then blows it
I didn't really get Janine smiling as she was going up the stairs. Obviously they caught the Martha that gave her Intel, but again it felt like something was missing to me. And now what? I'm guessing the wall, but I thought Gilead wanted to project a "kinder" image? Are they still sending people to the colonies?

What are the chances that Nick gets out of Gilead and finds June?

I wasn’t super impressed with the finale. I just rewatched every episode from season 1. The last couple episodes have made no sense in the way the Canadians supposedly feel towards the Gilead refugees.

Are they still sending people to the colonies? I actually enjoyed the finale. I agree. The first part of this season was slow for me. The last 3 or so episodes have been much better. I think the Canadian hate has been building. I don’t think they minded at first, but slowly there has been trouble from the Americans with Serena being there to acts of violence with June. I’ve always been a Nick/June fan. Though, I have been questioning him the last season or so. But I think after the finale, a little has made more sense. I think Rose being pregnant hindered him from taking the deal originally as well as him really believing Lawerence was trying to change things. I also think he really believed there was no future with June. I think June’s attack made him realize that maybe Lawrence is t what he thought and he can’t keep his feelings for June suppressed any longer. I do think Luke not getting on the train and Serena being on the train we’re predictable. But, I loved the moment at the end with June and Serena. Hey June. Do you have a diaper? I also loved Janine sticking it to Mrs. Putnam. I was assuming they were taking Janine to kill her or torture her.

I wonder if they will cut off her tongue, since Naomi mentioned it earlier in the episode - could have been foreshadowing.
I wonder if Mark/Joel from Parenthood helped Serena find a way to get on that train as well as June. Maybe we will see what happened to Serena after she ran off and if she somehow got in touch with Mark.

This show has so much violence and trauma but I cannot express how much a of visceral reaction I had to June’s arm being run over.

I honestly think they are going to band June and Serena together next season. Either that or one of them is going to betray the other in a huge way. And lol the diapers June has are going to be way too big so I found that a little humorous but it was a good line.

I think it was because I truly expected it would be a close call or something, like what happened when the truck tried to reverse and go over her again but then Luke stopped it. I was fully expecting something like that the initial time, thinking the worst was over with the truck knocking her down in the first place. Nope!

I mean, I know that wouldn't have saved her, but if I was worried about a car I wouldn't have just kept strolling on the road.

I just binged the entire series. Beginning was slow for me, too. I didn't care for June spiraling at the start but likely because the angry-eyes prolonged shots are nails on a chalkboard for me. The stopped the last few episodes, thank god.
I was laughing catching up with everyone calling him Joel. Maybe because I binged them all so I knew it was Mark Tuello.
They definitely took the baton from us for the extremist Canadians. I could see it, they have them up there, too. I was however balking at all the scenes with the guns all willy-nilly, because that is not Canada as I understand it. People can't just walk around with them so casually and having a trunk full in a parking lot felt absurd. Not even going to go in on June being covered in Fred's blood way longer than necessary.
I might get stoned for this, but I prefer Serena over June 🤣 She's done terrible things but so has June. They did such a good job writing her character and Yvonne is an incredible actress who I can't take my eyes off. She commands the screen. I actually didn't predict her being on the train, that was a fun twist for me.
My other UO is I'm not a Nick fan. I don't see the chemistry and he's a robotic actor me. Was he detained for punching Lawrence at the end?
I loved that they had Hannah write her name.
I don't get why Moira and Rita weren't with them to leave? Wouldn't have been as dramatic for the plot was my guess. I was actually expecting Moira to be on the train over Serena.
Janine heard about June and decided to go guns blazing. Love it.
