I think Serena realized she was going to be turned into a handmaid and planned her escape. I don't think she actually killed Ezra. It looked to me like it hit his vest, but I could be wrong. Serena is going to have June help them get back to Canada. He was definitely hit in a vest. We wouldn't want Serena to have too much blood on her pinky-less hands Serena is probably hoping she can get asylum in Canada, but she's going to need more than that I think. Who is going to believe her stories now? And she would need round the clock protection. Is she finally going to hook up with Joel from Parenthood? (I forget his character's name 🤣)

Although I don’t think Serena has ever experienced guilt/shame so I doubt she will care one bit.

But ugh, she doesn’t deserve any sort of lover for the rest of her life

I loved when Janine said she wished she saw Warner being killed.

I bet Warner being killed will be good leverage for Aunt Lydia to insist "the ceremony" take place at the center and the girls not be posted

Is this where I say what is probably an UO? I actually do not like Luke. I don’t think him and June are good together (well expect for Hannah because she is fucking adorable). I don’t think he can deal with the trauma that they experienced.

I liked June better with Nick, although maybe that was also a trauma bond?

Nick's wife is definitely pregnant. I'm curious how that will play out with her hip dysplasia. Do they do c-sections in Gilead? Wasn't it mostly home births? Maybe they're setting her up to die so Nick can reunite with June. Or he'll want to burn things down even more from the inside When June was pregnant they mentioned a c section because she was overdue. And the handmaid that got shot had a c section because she developed the eclampsia

I don’t think he can deal with the trauma that they experienced. Not a UO for me. His character hasn’t been my favorite. He seems to always go along with things then fight back. Granted, I think he’s starting to see. I feel like the chemistry between him and June just isn’t there now. Her chemistry with Nick is off the charts. Im wondering if if Nick’s wife being pregnant is the reason he wouldn’t spy for Joel from parenthood. At first I thought it was because Warren was watching him. But he’s dead now.

I really liked this episode. I liked how it played out with Serena. The tables have turned with the whole system she helped design and I thought it was well done how we’ve seen her fight so hard for the Gilead way of life, only to try escaping at the first sign of being on the other side of things.

I’m dying. I’m so glad I’m not the only one that calls him Joel from Parenthood. 😂

I think Joel’s character stuck with me so much because I felt so badly for him on Parenthood, because Joel’s wife drove me insane and I didn’t know how he put up with her 😂

I didn't like this episode as much as the last one. Too many flashbacks and understanding/sympathy with June/Serena
June is going to end up with the baby isn't she?
Also, what happened with Serena's protection agent? Did he actually die? Why did nobody come looking for him/Serena? Why didn't Serena give a fake name in the hospital? That probably wouldn't have mattered though with Luke reporting her

The access who plays Ester did an amazing job with her scene. Very powerful. I know her from Young Sheldon and this is a very different role.

I know that a bullet to a vest still really hurts, but I have a hard time seeing him staying down for as long as he did. And yeah, it seems like someone would have come look for them. It's possible that they did, just in the wrong direction, but it also didn't seem like they drove very far.

June was definitely deep in bonding mode with Serena. Yikes. I'm not sure where the show goes from here. Is there one more season?
I think my biggest hopes would be getting Hannah out and Gilead totally falling. I guess Lawrence and Blaine being ok.

Haha, yea my H and I just finished them. I had seen season 1-half of 2 already and read the books. H was hesitant to watch even though I told him 100 times he’d love it. I will say the baby stuff in basically all of season 1 was difficult to watch so soon postpartum. But otherwise I’ve been fine. 😂 I watched season 1 when I was pregnant last time and it was rough. This is why I only watched 2 episodes originally. Don't mind me liking up a storm, as I've binged 4 seasons this month. Lol I'll be here, catching up and LTing all your comments from 2021

All caught up, including the episode today (the 26th). Oh I wonder what’s going to happen!! I also want to know if there’s another season still (I would think so, as it seems like there are several storylines to close up and they would need more than 2 episodes to do it). Will they get Hannah? Present day June happy laughing was a beautiful sound!

This episode was much more uplifting/good news but I was surprised it was supposed to be about a month later
Big yikes to sleep training a newborn, I wonder how that will go now that Serena is back in the Wheeler's house. I'm glad June told Serena she doesn't forgive her
I'm really curious about Joel's plan with Hannah/the wive's school. It all seemed very fast unless there's another time jump. I hope it's good news. I thought when they showed Hannah planting she was going to have a memory of June/Luke

I should get around to reading that

I feel like this episode was extremely predictable. We knew that rescue mission would never work… way too easy. We knew Serena couldn’t actually be patient enough to come up with a good solid plan to escape with Noah, so I was not at all surprised to see her run away. I did enjoy and was pleasantly surprised by the slaps across Serena’s face from the wife. I’m annoyed that their house maid (like their Martha) seems to be sympathetic towards Serena, because fuck her. Also no sympathy for Lawrence. Also not at all surprised by the gunfire at the memorial at the end of the episode.

I’m always so confused about America/Canada and whose on whose side 🤦🏼♀️ Like the commanders talking about shooting down the Americans.. I should have rewatched some because I always feel lost lol
And what was the genetics comment about with Nicks wife??😳😳😳
I have been wondering if they did rescue Hannah how traumatic that would be for her, essentially taking her from the new life she now knows…I was happy to see that she still remembers who she is and I hope they show more of her.

We knew the mission would fail, that Serena wouldn't act like a hand maid for long, and the only reason she wanted to go to the center was so she could escape. I also knew as soon as the little girl at the end started saying the pledge of allegiance that June would go to her. Which is weird, why wouldn't it be her own mother?

I'm sure the Martha was bearing the brunt of that before. And the cry it out with a 1 month old 😩 The Martha was probably doing most of the care
