I am working through A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. Incredibly beautiful writing, loving the story but it's a tome! I am breaking it up with The Silent Patient. Not my usual type of read but I am in the mood for something different! Itβs been years but I really adored A Fine Balance. Itβs sad but so well told.

Itβs a book thatβs been on my list for years. I love CanLit so much, but some of the classics can be very booooring. This one however, incredible world building, character development is superb and the story so compelling you just donβt want to stop. Makes you marvel at how authorsβ develop their stories. This one is just so intricate and real.

I finished Shipped by Angie Hockman last night. I wasn't expecting too much from it but I bought it on a whim when it was Kindle deal of the day. Super cute and way more enjoyable than I was expecting. It's like my 5th straight rom-com this month. I should probably take a break?! Pretty good month of reading for me though. Hopefully I'm over my slump.

Okay, I have another dumb BOTM question. So if I skip this month then my credit goes to next month, then for June do I have to pay at all or can I only use the credit? Or do I have to pay the June price and also have the credit to use? You still pay June but you will have 2 credits to use for June if you want or they carry over.

I read the In Death series, and people around here talk about her other trilogies so much, I started the Dream trilogy. I like it so far.

I went to the dollar tree today and they had Orphan Monster Spy so I picked that up. I've been wanting to read it for a whole but none of my libraries have it. I figure for $1 it's worth it!

I had 15 for April.
Five stars- Magnolia Sword. Loved this!
Loved the Ravenel series. I read more of the maiden lane series, which I also like.
Overall a good reading month! I finished Rose Code and give it a meh, definitely my least favorite of the authorβs books. I tried to start All the light we cannot see, but I think it might be a bit tough in audio- the narrator doesnβt really distinguish voices and the flipping back and forth between story lines paragraph to paragraph was tough to follow. Iβll probably try it again later.
ETA also ready the latest Maisie Dobbs this month, which was great.

Iβm almost done with Detransition, Baby, and I had to share this. Reese, the trans main character, gets invited to a doTERRA party. She asks, βIs this cis culture?β And this follows. I loled.
