Finished The Bone Garden last night and it really was quite good, even though it took me awhile to get through.

Now I'm reading They Never Learn which is about a female professor who murders boys/men who have committed sexual assault. It also has a second POV for a student at the school. I think there is a big LGBTQ+ storyline. I have a feeling I'm going to really like it. Also about halfway through My Best Friend's Exorcism on audio. Grady Hendrix never writes what I'm expecting, but I'm also pretty into this one too. I read this. I didnβt hate it but I didnβt love it. I was into it at first and read it very quickly. But I felt like it kinda fell apart toward the end. And it just felt very... dark at the end.

I felt the same way about Evelyn vs Daisy. Daisy really did not do it for me, but I loved Evelyn. This makes me wonder if I should give Evelyn a chance. I hated Daisy (even on audio) and so I haven't read any of her other books. Definitely read Evelyn! I donβt know anyone that liked Daisy more than Evelyn. If someone likes both, they still seem to always like Evelyn better, like several here have also said. I read Evelyn 2 years ago and I still think about that book.

I finished House in the Cerulean Sea and Act Your Age, Eve Brown. I enjoyed both pretty well. I wanted a bit more out of Cerulean Seaβs plot, I know it was meant to be a small story but the world had potential that felt wasted somehow.
Eve Brown was fun, but I think I liked Daniβs book the best of the trilogy. I always appreciate romance novels with autistic characters though.

Iβm really excited because I just saw there is a new Questioneers book (the Rosie Revere, Engineer and Ada Twist, Scientist series for kids) available for preorder! Aaron Slater, Illustrator. Iβm preordering it for Christmas. π I like those books. I always tear up reading Sofia Valdez, Future Prez to my daughter.

Happy Independent Bookstore Day!!! A good excuse for me to buy some more books! I went to mine and picked up four books: Near the Bone, Tiny Little NIghtmares, Severance and The Book of Longings. I got The Intimacy Experiment, A Thousand Ships and Devolution. Then I placed a larger order online to get some kid books that they didnβt have and another volume of Berserk for my husband.

I read Good Sister and tore through it in less then two days. Stayed up late to finish it. I really liked it, great suspense/mystery. Highly recommend. But, trigger warning for child abuse.

I think we've talked about book Instagram before but I want to recommend Everydayreading. She shares lots of lists including book lists and reviews for kids

Have you read the Bergman Brothers series by Chloe Liese? There are 3 out so far and a 4th coming out this summer or fall I think. She has autism and writes romances with characters with autism. The 2nd and I think the 4th have main characters with autism. I love the series!

I don't know how to link from Amazon but their daily deals for today include a lot of great kindle books. I highly recommend Recursion. The Stranger is also great. These deals are today only.
Anyone else watching the Shadow and Bone series? I have one episode left. I think they did a really good job with it.
I did notice that they aren't following the Six of Crows storyline, just involving the characters so I'm pausing reading that book and focusing on library books that are due soon.
Yesterday I read Accidentally Engaged. It was a really cute rom com and I enjoyed it a lot. Today I am reading and hopefully finishing The Year of the Witching. I'm about halfway through and it's good so far. Next up is You Deserve Each Other and Shipped. Both I only have for another week so I need to get them read.

Can anyone recommend a book to me? I'm going on a trip to the beach next Friday and I'm bringing my Kindle, but I'd like a physical book to bring also. I like suspense/thrillers mostly but open to anything.

I like suspense/thrillers mostly but open to anything. For mysteries, I really like anything by Ruth Ware or Riley Sager. If you like page turner type thrillers (my favorite beach read), some good ones are: The Wives, The Silent Patient, Woman in the Window, The Wife Between Us, No Exit. I read mostly thrillers so if you have something more specific in mind, ask away!

It took me fooooorever to get through When the Stars Go Dark. I like me some slow paced thrillers but this one seemed interminable. The writing was good but overall I was just bored. It also has some very TW stuff about kids in it, just FYI.
Iβm about 75% through Pretty Little Wife now and Iβm liking that one. I saw some of you recently read it also. Itβs definitely keeping me guessing.

I finished The Lost Manuscript tonight it was good the format was somewhat annoying but it was a cute story. I started a woman is no man tonight. I have that one ready to go, I think that might be my next book. I finished A Woman Is No Man last night. It was a lot to take in but such a good read.

Iβm listening to Carl Haisaan, (sp) Squeeze Me and it not so subtly references the former Orange in Chief and a fictional Mar A Lago in pure satire and it is completely amazing.

peaseblossom55, A Woman is No Man was so good! Very heavy and hard to read at times but I couldn't put it down. I finished the Ex-Talk last night. Very cute.

Elison as an author to check out. Liv's The last Mrs. Parrish and The Wife Stalker were my favorites from her. A few other books: The Guest List, The last flight, Someone knows, I am about 150 pages from finishing The Night Swim and I like it, but like I think abs said it has some TW of sexual assault. I read mostly this genre now too.

I finished Before she disappeared MEH I didn't mind it but it wasn't my favorite and the end was stupid
I am about 60% through The Night Swim and love it.

I finished They Never Learn. I really enjoyed it at first. But I think I was expecting something bigger to happen by the end and it never really did. But there is a lot of talk about the rage the MC feels over the guys who are sexually assaulting women and getting away with it. And not to sound like a psycho for relating to a serial killer so much, but YES, I feel that exact same kind of rage too. So I probably shouldn't have been rooting for people to be murdered or whatever, but it was also so satisfying.
I really loved My Best Friend's Exorcism. This is my second Grady Hendrix book and they both had such similar vibes. Not at ALL what I was expecting going in, very very weird, kinda gross, kinda funny. I really enjoy the way he tells a story.
