I found the cushy mattress protector and regular crib sheet for tonight. Crossing my fingers for some success on this one.

Why does my baby always poop right after changing and immediately fall asleep? But only at night. Seriously kid?
ETA: why the eff is the 3yo awake at 4:58am? He normally sleeps until 6:30-7 but gets up earlier when MIL visits. Like 6. Fine. But before that is unacceptable. Go to sleep kid.

I've been spoiled by Nugget finally STTN for the past few weeks, she was up twice last night (and another couple of times when she fussed for a minute and then went back down). Maybe it's teeth again? She doesn't have her canines in yet...

We were spoiled by a few nights of good sleep before asthma and possibly ear infections kicked in. I think I slept more in the chair in their room than I did in my bed.

M can roll over now so she does it in her sleep. But she actually prefers sleeping on her back and she gets stuck and hollers multiple times during the night and I have to get up and save her. Then she's awake and has to nurse to go back to sleep. I don't like this change.
J woke up screaming this morning saying that his head hurt, and he carried on for like an hour. I was freaking out but he seems better now. I had to change my pajamas because he soaked me in tears and snot. Maybe his ear? But he has no fever. So I'm watching him close today, he's being clingy.

About a month ago our pedi mentioned that there was a summer enterovirus going around that's most telling sign is a headache because young kids very rarely get headaches.

mapleme, did the mattress pad come yet? we added a pillow to P's crib. no dice. Yeah, not the miracle that we've been hoping for. We had modest improvements the first night but then it was same ol' same ol'. However it seems that it is easier to get her back down to sleep for every wake up, so wake ups are shorter with fewer failed transfers. So, that's good at least. C slept much longer stretches during her nursing strike, so we'll probably get better sleep when she night weans. But she doesn't seem ready for that AT.ALL.

I'll google that now. It was odd as nothing ever hurts him, and he still won't lay down on his pillow because he said his head hurts but he's acting totally fine other than that. Just one spot on his head though.

P only took one nap today and it was just over an hour. She's in her crib cackling to herself. How is she still going?

Both kids were super tired and in bed, asleep, by 8:10. Yay!
And it's an hour later and I've been in to calm M 3 times and MH has been I'm for J once. What the heck, children?!

Why does T only poop small amounts during the day, but then grunts and wiggles and struggles for literally hours at night before having a massive blowout? Poor guy isn't sleeping well and neither am I. I can hear his tummy gurgling starting around bedtime.
Normal or not?

W woke up at 11 angry that he was cold (their room apparently has more vents for the space than ours, so it's always hotter/colder) but after his motn bottle and some long pants instead of shorts, he went to sleep and they both slept until 6:30. I still got up at 4 though. The cat thought it would be awesome to puke from the top of the cat tower.

Sounds normal, at that age their digestive systems are still developing and they're still learning how to poop. Maybe try doing more tummy time in the evening? Nugget always used to poop during tummy time. Or just have your spouse change his diaper, that always worked for me! Poor J always managed to be the one who was victim when she pooped during a diaper change.

Dh is out of town tonight so I'm trying to decide if I should move A into Ls room and sleep in there with them for the first night... we really want to get A out of our room and sttn asap since we only have 5 months til we have a new baby... On a related note... we don't close Ls bedroom door at night, and she can open it anyway, but I don't want A to get out without me knowing so do you think a baby gate at the door would be a good idea? Or just close the door and put the handle cover on so L cant open it either? I don't really want L trapped in her room, but A is a wild child and will wreak havoc if she escapes without our knowledge.

The endless grunting and squirming was so disruptive to both of our sleep! I hope he gets past that phase quickly for you.

We used a gate in the door when we were worried about kids wandering at night. It worked well, and we could still hear them.

He can actually climb over it if he puts his mind to it but I don't think he would be able to do that in the middle of the night.

It is so frustrating that Nugget is sleep regressing again Not sure if it's teething or what, but she's been up every night for over a week, wanting to nurse back to sleep. I am been letting her because I don't know what else to do. J tried going in to her last night, which used to work, and instead she started hysterically screaming MOMMY! MOMMY! I went in and nursed her for a few minutes and she passed back out. I keep thinking about weaning, but I just don't even know...

I think the absolute worst is when your child wakes up 20 minutes before your alarm is supposed to go off. No thanks, kid.

We've been having a terrible problem with T spitting up during the night and gagging/choking on it. It would make him congested and he couldn't breathe. I'd put him in the RNP whichever helped a little but not 100%. No one has been sleeping well
Last night I put him in the co sleeper and turned him on his side. He actually slept soundly in between wake ups. He did spit a few times but it came out and caused no other issues. He slept through it. Hopefully this is our solution until we get his lip tie clipped next week.
