Will the J&J/Merck partnership help Americans get vaccinated sooner?

I think that's Jeff Mason asking about why J&J (the single dose vaccine) isn't being shipped specifically to harder reach areas and sending more of the 2 dose shots to areas where it's easier to store and distribute them.
Jen says the health experts advised doing it this way and reiterates that everyone should get whatever vaccine they can, as soon as they can.

Jeff: ok but people can't get appointments. And you guys said you'd federalize and streamline the process for finding a vaccine.
Jen: well we have VaccineFinder standing up. We also know that just building a website isn't enough. We're also expanding call centers and other outreach efforts.

How can you guys take credit for the partnership that was under consideration between the companies before you got here?
Jen: well there's a lot of bumpy road between considering and doing, including needing the help of the DPA, which the last guy didn't do. And we got it across the finish line.

Q: Sanctions don't seem to stop Putin from poisoning people tho?
Jen: the steps we took today weren't intended to be a silver bullet. We're working in coordination with the EU, and today's announcement was supposed to be in line with their announced sanctions, to make the total effort more impactful.
Q: so you admit the sanctions won't do anything!!
Jen: absolutely not what the fuck dude

Good question. Are you worried that Russia and China are exerting influence with smaller nation's by giving them vaccines?
Jen: yes, we are. We've given a lot of doses to COVAX, and we continue engaging with the global community's effort to hold Russia and China accountable on democratic values.

Are you guys canceling Dr Seuss?!
Jen: Read Across America Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate a variety of authors whose lived experience reflects the experience of a broad spectrum of Americans. We feel it's important that all children see themselves in literature.

This is excellent news. And it comes on the heels of the House taking up their universal background checks bill. If gun violence prevention is important to you, please consider calling your member of Congress and asking them to cosponsor HR 8. Large cospinsorships help a bill move. (202) 224-3121 Is it really 95%? That seems improbable. I want to believe it, but the message seems really important here. Most polling has had it between 85 and 89 percent over the past few years but it did hit 95 in one Quinnipiac poll poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2521

I'm very frustrated. I filed my taxes via Turbo Tax on Feb 10. I am getting a substantial refund because we are changing to MFS and I'm claiming all 3 kids. We are doing this so that my IBR student loan plan will stay in a reasonable pay range because if we added my H's income, it would be so much more $$ per month for me.
Anyway so I filed, the IRS started accepting returns on Feb 12. Turbo Tax says my return was accepted. I check the IRS website daily for updates. They still have no record of my return even being filed. In the meantime, I've already gotten my state refund. I know all the numbers are correct because I have checked and re-checked a bunch. I actually managed to get a person on the phone from the IRS today and they said wait until Friday and if nothing has updated, then call back next Monday. I'm so frustrated. It makes me nervous that the system still hasn't even recognized that I've filed.
I'm mostly worried because I want this to be the tax return that they use to base the next stimulus payments with so I want it in the system. I'm hoping it updates by Friday because while we don't desperately need that money, it would go a long way in paying off some unexpected new debts we've had this winter like our stupid new furnace.
TL:DR is that the IRS is being super slow and making me panic.

MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T BACKWARDS ASSHOLES YOU'D HAVE AN EASIER GO OF IT. Also, you losing is not a reason to disenfranchise voters. If the SC doesn't understand that I will scream.

Is it really 95%? That seems improbable. I want to believe it, but the message seems really important here. Everything I ever see, is the majority (yes 95%) support background checks. The argument is 'they already DO background checks' but thats only true when you buy a fire arm from a registered dealer. That makes sense. It’s just frustrating. Usually I am a person who appreciates progress, no matter how small. But this seems like the absolute least we can do. I want to be happy about it, I just hope it’s a starting point.

I filed on the 9th, and it sat in processing and i got my refund last wednesday and it never moved off accepted on wheres my refund. In my local fb mom group I'm seeing a lot of that. I still do not have my state refund but Idaho is generally 4-5 weeks.
