Good morning, I’m sick. Last night when I went to bed I felt nauseous and it hasn’t stopped. I’m currently on the couch, warm hoodie on, snuggled up under a blanket. I don’t want to parent. tgrimes I’m glad you power and water worked for a little while.

I'm trying to be productive but frustrated. I can't get into 2/3 websites I need to access for my promotion packet due very soon and I've gotten no where with tech support. I was able to schedule my vag surgery for next month...so good, but meh.
Cass starts hybrid this week and I'm it's only day 1 and I'm reminding myself of that now, but so far I wish we didn't do it. Hybrid is only 2 days a week; I thought she'd get online instruction the other days. Nope. Just a big digital packet of work to do so in other words requires me to be on her ass a lot more the 3 days she's home. Plus she's locked out a lot of her digital learning accounts because it ended with her old teacher but her new teacher hasn't given out her codes.
ETA: On Cass' end that will also mean she doesn't get socialization with her classmates 3 days a week. I'm sure some kids can do it, but with mine giving her a 24 page slideshow and going "hear you go" doesn't go far.

We had 2 heated water bowls, but went and got 2 more because we have some client dogs in. Soooo much better! But they’ve been inside anyway. I’m hoping by Saturday I can kick them back outside!

Morning.
So cold. We’re all home again. I’m kind of over it. Trying to keep busy by purging some of the kids stuff and doing laundry. I may start to input stuff for our taxes later if I feel up to it.
I woke up to the furnace/heater making weird noises. If this thing decides to crap out in the middle of this cold ass storm I’m going to be so mad. I turned the fireplace on to warm to house and try to lessen the load of the furnace keeping the house warm. Hopefully it makes it until we get out of this frozen hell and I can put in a request with our home warranty.

MH has been VERY anti liter box in the house for the cat. She’s an outside cat but comes in and hangs out a lot. And she usually sits by the door when she wants to go back out. Well, with this extreme cold I got a cheap liter pan and she actually started using it! I told MH it was just during this extreme weather. But I’m hopeful that it will last. So I’m already planning on a liter box upgrade 😂. Do any of you cat people have a favorite type of box?

Morning.
Dd has Wednesday off, so we had a girls day. I cleaned the bathroom, did laundry and cleaned the staircase (white wooden stairs & kids...). Baby girl is spending half her days in the moby wrap, but it makes me able to do stuff around the house 🤷🏼♀️.
Not much else this day.

This works well. As far as actual litter goes, I love the pine pellets. I put off trying it for so long but wish I'd switched sooner. It's magical when it comes to odor management. I do not smell any pee with it. And it's super cheap. Instead of getting Feline Pine, just go to some type of farm and feed store and you can get a giant off brand bag of it for ~$7.

Tax tip: if you've been working from home even just part time don't forget that you can claim that. It made a substantial difference for us.

I've decided to really Crack down on my diet and get back to exercising daily. So I'm going to clean the basement so I can use the tread mill without being distracted by the mess.

Ugh I hate that you all are cold and worried about your power, I'm sorry. I hope this is over soon for you guys. Glad you got your vag surgery scheduled, sorry you're feeling shitty inthekitty. lfig There's a lot of 'top or no top' to litter boxes. Some cats have problems with it, neither of mine ever did. We use the pine as well, no smell at all.

We've been allowed to claim up to $400 working from home without any receipts, there are a couple rules but nothing major. Any other bigger claims would still have to provide extra receipts etc. It'll be a nice boost for sure.

I clearly don't do the taxes around here, ha I think you can likely do that too. You can write-off a portion of your home as a home office. MH does the taxes and I reminded him. There was a part of TurboTax that walked him through the calculations. He was conservative with the estimates and it made the difference of us paying every year to actually getting some money back for the first time in a long time. One of my psychiatrist friend's works from home 1 day a week and gets a sizable write-off from it and he's the one who first mentioned it.

Since I move my laptop around all day, I should be able to claim the whole house😂. I just did a marketing webinar for a vendor sitting on a toddler bed🥴

People asked me what was in the background... ehm a felt zebra and giraffe head & a ds’s canapé 😂.

Any word from our Texans today?
My fam/cousins in fort worth and seem okay, they all were able to get vaccinated bc of cancelled appointments, which is the only silver lining for them.

We still have power for now, praise be. MH was able to find a grocery store that was open and the line was wrapped around the building. He was able to get a few things though. My in laws still don’t have power so they’re coming over here soon. We’re now under a boil notice, for those that have water.

Thanks for the tax tip. I think I read that on FB a few weeks ago, but had forgotten about it. We are getting our taxes done Saturday so I'll definitely mention it!
I just had a quick call with another company I sent my resume to. She asked where I was at in my job search and I told her I have an in person interview Friday. She said their hiring manager saw my resume and really wanted to talk to me. She told me not to move forward with anyone until I talk to them again. This is the job I thought would be a substantial pay cut, but I told her what I was making currently and she didn't seem completely put off by it. So fingers crossed I may really find something!
