I did it! Labor started on its own late Friday night (so no need for inducing) and baby Natalie was born the morning of 4/3! 9 lbs even and 21.5 inches. She had a couple of low blood sugar readings but they’re back to normal now that she’s wanting to nurse more and not sleep so much. Idk if I can figure out how to post a pic, but I’ll try later.

I forgot to post here, but baby Emma arrived on April 1st at 9:44pm via semi emergency csection! I went in to be induced on Tuesday afternoon. They put in a Cook’s catheter which brought on painful contractions all night and into the next day. A full 24 hours later it finally came out and I lost my plug and had lots of bloody show. They started pitocin and I managed to get to 4 and a half almost all the way effaced and baby at 0 station. The nurses spent all day putting me in different positions to help me dilate. It was a long process all day Wednesday and into all day Thursday. I got to a 5 and I agreed to let them break my water. My midwife came in around 7pm Thursday night to check me and I had made a little more progress so we agreed to wait and see if I could keep progressing. Right after she left I started feeling a lot of pain all over my belly. Pain that didn’t stop with changing positions or come and go with contractions. Just pain all the time. My nurse started feeling my stomach and asking if it hurt where my incision from my first csection was but really it just hurt all over. They called my midwife and the doctor from my practice on call. I’ve always heard your mom intuition kicks in and you just know. I just knew something was wrong. Emma still looked great on the monitors but I asked for a csection right away. You guys know how much my VBAC meant but I felt she needed out ASAP. So they prepped the OR and started to get ready. They had trouble getting me numb enough (thankfully I did have an epidural in place already) and I laid on the table for 20 minutes while they kept trying and trying. They thought they might have to do a spinal which meant a risk of being fully put under but I did get numb enough although later in the surgery I could feel pain at the top of my belly. The surgery went well and baby Emma was born screaming and healthy! The doctor came to talk to me after the surgery. My uterus was so thin he could see the baby through it before he cut. He said if I had continued to labor my uterus would likely have ruptured. I am so grateful I asked for the csection. They told me I can never try labor again which is fine by me. I have a perfect son and a perfect daughter so I’m all set!

Happy birthday, Emma!! What a harrowing tale. I'm so glad your intuition was bang on and you got to make that call on your own without being pressured into it.

Congratulations strawberrykiki, she’s beautiful! And look at all that hair! I’m sorry you had a rough go with the VBAC attempt, but I’m so glad you advocated for yourself and got Emma here safely.

Aster Rhys was born yesterday, February 15th at 7:27pm. 8lbs, 12oz and 21" long. 😍 Is there as much hair under that hat as L had? ☺️ Yes I've been MIA for a month, but I've been thinking about you cause i knew you had that baby a whole ago, hope postpartum is treating you well! 😘 Also 👌 names 😊.

Hey guys, so sorry I disappeared. I've been sitting around home with my tits out pretty much constantly and half the time Tapa acts up for me. Finally got out the laptop to check in. Congratulations strawberrykiki! Holy cow, I'm so glad you trusted your gut and baby girl arrived safely. I'm swooning over her hair! And congratulations sundog!! I love the name Natalie.

PDQ Should probably make my own announcement finally. Hayes Allen arrived on March 26 (36w5d) via CS. Weighed in at 6 lb 5 oz. He shares a birthday with his late great-grandpa. ❤ He's a really chill baby, too chill to nurse effectively unfortunately. So I've transitioned to exclusive pumping and he seems to finally be gaining weight.

I did almost exclusive pumping with my first and man I hated that pump after a few months!

pbandj714 congrats, he’s a cutie! I also have a chill baby who’s struggling with weight gain. I’m thinking something’s up with her latch and that’s why nursing isn’t effective for her. We’ve been supplementing with formula the last few days so we’ll see if it’s helped when we go for a weight check tomorrow. I feel kinda... weird? about her not having gotten back up to birth weight yet (she’ll be 3 weeks on Saturday)- all my other kids had no problem gaining weight, even dd1 who had a poor latch due to lip tie. At this point I don’t want extra stress about BFing so I think we’ll go to formula exclusively. Don’t mind me, just rambling on. Also need to remind myself that every baby is different.
