I got MH nothing. The kids are each getting a light up straw cup and a cute Valentine's box of Jelly Bellys. I also got a mini heart waffle maker to make cinnamon roll "waffles" for breakfast.

I got the girls coloring books and a massive set of colored pencils. I may cheat and give them to them today since we can't go anywhere.

Happy Saturday! N and I just got home from getting a pedicure. She needed a girls day after her rough couple of weeks. Then we stopped at the grocery store where I let her throw a bunch of junk in the cart so she’s really loving today.
We’re making homemade pizzas tonight which I’m really looking forward too. We might make cookies this afternoon too.

I got Dh a bigger cast iron pan. The kids are getting new pajamas and books. And Dh picked up some new legos for them. L will get some snacks from the cupboard in a bag. Lol.

Do you all get Yh’s gifts for Valentines? I think I usually get Mh some of his favorite candies from Fresh Market candy bar. I was trying to think about it the other day I couldn’t remember. The candy came to mind yesterday. We don’t usually make it a big deal here, so just a small something and dinner without the kids. Usually we just do a nice dinner and DH will send or buy flowers. This year I sent him a care package with...among other things...clam chowder! Because nothing says romance like canned soup  In my defense there’s a back story and this is not your average chowder. |

Do you all get Yh’s gifts for Valentines? I think I usually get Mh some of his favorite candies from Fresh Market candy bar. I was trying to think about it the other day I couldn’t remember. The candy came to mind yesterday. We don’t usually make it a big deal here, so just a small something and dinner without the kids. Pre-Covid we probably would have gone out to dinner on a different weekend so it’s less crowded. We usually just get each other cards and candy and then buy for C. Dh got me some chocolates he gave yesterday. He’s on a diet so I couldn’t get chocolate so I bought him new pants and a belt a size smaller than he has since I think he will fit in them. He’s lost 17# since the start of the year! Cs present is a shirt made by a Minecraft blogger he follows. It’s supposed to be here today but I’m not feeling confident since it’s already late afternoon. I also got him chocolates. |

Not much going on here today. The vaccine side effects were rough overnight but more tolerable today. I’m hoping it’s getting better and I won’t have the same pains tonight. Aside from that I’m waiting in a grocery order and we are getting takeout for dinner.

That’s fun nam2013! I’m surprised people aren’t masked though. Do they mandate that there? Not outside when distance is possible. Inside they are everywhere. Outside only when there’s a possibility you can’t keep distance (during demonstrations for instance/, shopping, at a bus stop, train station etc.) Eta under current rules you’re not allowed to be outside with more than two together. So skating was allowed, but your ‘group’ couldn’t consist of more than two (except if your from the same household). |

We are not exchanging this year. We typically do something a little small, but we decided against it this year.
We got the kids chocolates, books, and some art/craft supplies.
I think I went a little more over the top than usual. I’ve kind of treated it like a Easter basket this year.

We had a lazy morning and then swim lessons. The kids were grumpy so I made H take a nap, while M had quiet time. She is currently painting some Valentine’s for her boyfriends.
Tonight MH is making chicken and dumplings. Yum.

We had a good day. Honestly the first part of this week was r-o-u-g-h. Lots of emotions, yelling, etc. Things have turned around the last couple days, though, and it's been nice. B had a great game today--they still lost but played the team better than last time, and B played really well. His teacher and her daughter sat with us; she is lovely and I thought it was super sweet of her to come, esp. since she has her own young kids in sports, etc. B's expression when he looked up and saw her next to me was funny  Afterwards we went out with my parents for pizza, then came home and finished our Valentine cookies and made 'deliveries' to our neighbors and the kids' sitter. Currently eating Chick Fil A for dinner. |

MH and I don’t usually exchange anything but I’m pretty covid times we would go out to dinner either before or after. In fact our last baby’s sitter/night out was the weekend after Valentine’s Day last year
I went overboard on the kids. Usually I do something little (last year I did kinder egg and a beanie baby). B is suddenly really into art and S never was so we don’t have a lot of supplies. I got him a huge art kit that I think he is going to love. S has been asking for a specific lego set for weeks so I splurged on that rather than getting something he didn’t really care about.

Our kids brought home lots of treats, too.
We do small gifts for the kids--this year C is getting a new book, a tuxedo for her Ken doll (poor Ken only has swim trunks and jorts...no fancy dates for Barbie!) and a little casual dress (impulse buy). I got B Beyblades and a book.

GS leader dropped off Cadence's valentine box. She was so excited.
I'm kind of bummed because my mom sent her a package that they guaranteed would arrive by Friday. It didn't. Cadence doesn't know about it. My mom hasn't gotten the one from Cadence either. :\

I got the kids hearts filled with Reeses. Got MH one too. We don’t do much, I usually just bake brownies and cut them into hearts or something. Tomorrow DS has game 3 of the tournament, a game with his travel team, and a game with his middle school team.
It was so nice seeing DD compete today. She had a rough time on beam which used to be her best event but everything else went well. As soon as we got back today, T ratted out DH for not giving C his nebulizer last night.

Hi hi - week got away from me and we have done zero things for Valentine's day.. I kind of assumed I'd do a Target order but it's an icy mess right now..so maybe I'll put some heart decorations up and do a cute dessert tomorrow? And we will likely get takeout for us after bedtime too.
I'm supposed to take my mom for her vaccine first thing in the morning and hoping it's safe to do so, it's at a 6 flags drive through place..today they closed early and rescheduled everyone for 3 weeks from now, so I'm going to be pissed if that happens to her appt. I have new tires and live really close to the highway, so hoping to make it if it's open..she's like let's skip it if it's too icy, nope!

Omg, Evie used to watch that Zamalo lady...she irritated the shit out of me. Her music is terrible. Fortunately she hasn't watched her in awhile. And since she lost her tablet this week, we put an end to her watching 'teenager'videos. Kids attitude was definitely showing signs of too much YouTube. |
