Oof, poor baby. It's so hard when they're this little and something doesn't feel good. Hopefully it gett better asap. Thanks, tonight was better, yay! By this time my last September baby had already had a stomach bug and RSV because of daycare. Bonus to the pandemic is less germs around in general! I'm glad last night went better! I keep saying to my husband, do you realize none of us has been sick since last February?!?! It's blowing my mind but definitely one of the upsides of this crazy year. Even with my 4yo went being in preschool two mornings a week (since September) we haven't caught a single bug.

But I'm in Canada and it's really slow rolling out where I am. I don't think we'll be getting it any time soon 😑

I missed being able to get a vaccine without catching the virus by only eight days, after doing everything right for 9.5 months. I'm so mad.

Minnesota is slacking on getting it to teachers. We're supposedly in the next group but no date yet.

Camille went to bed at 630 last night and then woke up at 130am (usually she wakes at around 4 or 5). We decided to ignore for a bit and see what happens. She complained/on and off cried a bit for 25 minutes then fell back asleep and didn't wake again until 7am. I'm hoping this is the beginning of STTN 🙏🙏🙏

I go back to work finally tomorrow. I haven't been in my classroom, with the exception of cleaning it out in June, since March. I'm feeling very disoriented.

First day back was fine. It's going to take me forever to learn the kids names because of the hybrid rotation. My sub was supposed to hang all week with me but he's being pulled to sub for a teacher who apparently broke her ankle this morning, so I'm on my own tomorrow with all new technology systems that got implemented this year while I was out. Weeee, fun.

Hopefully I get used to it!

We're gearing up to give C some tastes of nut butters. Both of her older siblings are allergic to peanuts, cashews, and pistachios. I'm nervous to try, not because of the potential reaction, but because I just know she's going to be allergic, too, and I'll be so sad for her/them.

Good luck mintyblueair! I'm thinking I need to do this soon too, with my Benadryl and old epi pen handy. My oldest only had a sesame allergy she outgrew very easy to manage. I feel for you allergy Mama's, it's so hard!

We always start with a lot of allergens; peanut butter, strawberry, avocado. We've started giving T some foods to gnaw on and a bit of puree. He's very into it. Hopefully C doesn't react and you're pleasantly surprised. Good luck!

Thanks! We started cereal a few days ago and it's going really well! I like to get all the common allergens out of the way early, too.

Went to pump and realized I left my flanges at home. Cooooool.
I just hand expressed over 2oz right into a bottle. Normally I pump 8-9oz this session. I don't really care about not making bottles, I have a freezer stash and we combo feed so little dude can always have formula. I'm more worries because when my right boob gets too full it explodes and completely soaks whatever top I'm in. So I need to keep the pressure down on that side. Ugh, so stupid!
I have an extra set, I need to leave them in my bag. I also need to toss my manual pump in there too. What a rookie mistake.

Must be the day for it cnf. I was almost to school and realized I forgot mine too. Luckily I only live 8 minutes from school and my principal is chill so I was able to go home and get it. Fingers crossed you don't leak. Aren't you at a middle school? The students would love that. 😂

Yes, middle school, so the kids would definitely get a kick out of it. So far so good. I'm about to go express more and hopefully from there I can make it home.

I managed to hand express 5oz (I've been pumping 12oz) and not ruin my shirt. Baby is currently working out a clog for me.
Better luck tomorrow.

So I'm trying not to go on a Google spiral right now. C has had a swollen lymph node on the back of her head since she was around 1 month. It's now bigger and there's another swollen one, too. She started having night sweats two weeks ago and I didn't think much of it, but I googled about the lymph nodes this morning and night sweats came up as a symptom of lymphoma/leukemia.
So. I know it's so so unlikely. But I made her a doctor appointment tomorrow.

Two of my babies have had that lymph node in the back of their head your could feel, and all my kids have seemed sweaty at night. Hoping you get peace of mind tomorrow!

Thanks guys! Her appointment is at 2pm (Central Time). I woke up feeling less worried and now I'm afraid my doctor is going to think I'm a hypochondriac... But oh well, still good to get some peace of mind.

Whenever I go in for something like this I explain I have health anxiety since my Mom died from breast cancer, and they ALWAYS say they would rather have me come in and check and be told it's nothing.

I do have health anxiety since having kids, but mine is like a yo-yo where most of the time I brush everything off as normal, then suddenly I'm beset by worry about some catastrophic illness and I start berating myself for brushing everything off... It's like my anxiety is either at 0 or 100. I actually started an antidepressant for this in December and my worry levels have been more normal. I'm so sorry about your mom. Several people in my family have had cancer at young ages, including my brother in his 20s and a cousin who died at 29. Sometimes it feels inevitable that it'll affect my little family, too 😞

The really tough part with my Mom was her cancer came back and she ended up passing when my middle was only 3 months old. So that grief mixed with postpartum hormones was intense. That's when I started the Zoloft. Hope meds continues to help you too!

We're back from the doctor and C is down for her last nap!
Basically he said that the swollen lymph nodes on the back of her head are most likely due to the fact that she still has some cradle cap on her scalp and also eczema on her neck. He said they feel round, not irregular, which is good. He shrugged off the night sweats thing and said some babies are sweaty. But he put in a referral to a pediatrician for some extra peace of mind and he did say the pediatrician may want to do some blood work.
By the time we got home his receptionist had called with the date for her pediatrician appointment. I then asked about a referral he was supposed to have put in for my other daughter in December and she was like "oh... I guess it was never sent. I'll send it now". I'm a bit annoyed about that because I asked him about it a few weeks ago and he was like "don't worry, it can take months to get it when it's a non-urgent issue".
Anyway. I feel better about it for now.

I’m sorry to hear about your mom, fem. Mine also died from cancer, when I was in my teens, so I definitely understand the health anxiety. ❤️ Aww I'm sorry for you too. What a hard age to lose your Mom.
