There is nothing in my mom's county except if you work at the hospital So they've opened up 24/7 at the stadium near me for anyone in the state. I'm contemplating getting my mom an appointment and driving 2 hours to go get her and bring her down for a shot. She may or may not cooperate. Inner ear problem makes changing altitude very painful for her and she'll be drunk for days Fuck Amy I’m so sorry. That’s so frustrating. Does driving slowly or making frequent stops help the inner ear thing? It’s cool. My parents clinic in Florida has run out of vaccine doses. At this rate I’ll never see them again 😔 It takes about 24 hours for her to aclimate. Its really weird. When she chews her ear leaks fluid.

Higher ed was initially included in Missouri's 1B, but in a post today it seems we've been moved to 2. SUPER. I'm sorry. Could you fall anywhere else? covidvaccine.mo.gov/priority/Phase1b/#phase1b-1This is what I've been looking at. We move into 1b this week and Monday so hopefully even if you don't, we'll be moving right along.

My ILs will be eligible for it starting Monday, and I was very encouraged to hear they'd already signed up on the waitlist. I never know with them.

Our county (in CA) received 3,000 vaccine doses... according to Public Health, we haven't even made a dent in the Group 1A-eligible folks and have over 28,000 65+ who are now also eligible. This is going to be a long road.

Our state was supposed to open up 1B to 65 and up, those with specific health conditions and educators next week. We never had enough vaccines for 1a and now the there is no national stockpile of backup shots so who knows what kind of free for all happens with our doses next week.

I refreshed the page a million times the last two days, and today I snagged an appointment for my 92 year grandma! She just got her shot! She’s so happy.

This is going to be a long road. I looked at my county (also in CA) yesterday and for me the anticipated vacinne date says "summer". At this point I'll be very happy if I can get the vaccine by June.

It took H 3 hours to get his parents squared away on Wednesday. Their first shot is next Wednesday. I am cautiously optimistic about the drive thru options opening up next week as well.

Yes, I spent a long time doing that earlier this week but they didn’t have her information then to schedule her. By the time they did, the earliest spots were in March! So I kept refreshing that page over and over with her info in front of me. My mom sent me a picture, and she really looks delighted.

Second verse same as the first. At what point is "it just takes time" no longer an okay answer. Is there something that I should be doing that I am not?
I am 16 weeks post +. I will say this, my leg and foot pain is much less disruptive, not gone, but so much better. Which is great, but is it because this virus is finally letting go of me or is it the Gabapentin. And how will we know? And yesterday I felt good, I had enough energy to clean a little. Although chemicals and Covid lungs do not mix. But I was able to clean, attend two Zoom bible studies. And fixed dinner. Banner day. But today I am wiped out. Like I could go to bed right now.
Not really looking for answers, though if you had some I would be thrilled. Just venting. Continued prayers for all that are struggling with or because of this disease.

Well US doesn't have the stockpile they said they would release to states, so um, yeah We don't have enough vaccines.

My mom is getting her first dose of the vaccine on her birthday on the 19th. I'm so so excited. This is the first step for her being able to travel into Germany hopefully soon. We miss her so much.

ILs are scheduled for their first dose Weds and I woke up to a news alert that the state is only receiving 25% of the doses they requested for people getting ‘shot #1’ I am trying very hard not to spiral.

No, I did not forget any zeroes. 😩 Im sorry Theres no more doses in the gogy stockpile. The stockpile is empty. We have to wait for more to be made for states requesting more. Meanwhile cdc expects new variant to be widespread by march. I cant get an appt for my 80 yr old mom. My sis is still trying every morning.

When I saw my doc on Friday, he said he doesn't think their office will be administering the vaccine. They were told if they elect to provide it, they have to do so for anyone that requests it, not just the patients being seen there. They don't agree with that, so they will probably not stock it.

My hospital implemented a new retention policy to try to stop all our nurses from quitting to go travel, and now we get hazard pay! An extra $7/hr every time we work on a COVID floor. Our COVID census and acuity are both actually really low right now, so that makes it totally worth it. I'm not half as mad about getting floated there on the regular now.

Apparently it's floating to another unit in general, at least that's what we were told. So like we will get it if we float to NICU. I've been meaning to ask if this excludes PRN nurses. I assume it does like every other incentive does 🙄😡

STP how are your parents doing today? You're so sweet to ask, thank you. Mom has moved out of the flu-like symptoms - aches, fever, digestive struggles - and now she just feels like she has a nasty cold. She is going stir crazy of course, it's been three weeks of home confinement except the ER once. And she is not someone who stays home easily. She told me it's hard to describe - you just feel "sick." Dad is unfortunately suddenly turning into worse symptoms. I worry more about him, my mom is... a powerhouse of will and personality frankly. My dad is awesome, but I feel like men don't turn for the worse and bounce back like women do. IDK. So they're still sick, but with good oxygen levels (thank you to whoever recommended the pulse ox, I should have thought of that as we use one at home for DS). I think that has helped mentally at least. She's missing her grand kids a lot. It did push my sister to enroll her baby in day care and honestly, that needed to happen. She knew it, but was understandably resistant bc she had my folks there. I do think that will be a better situation for all involved; it's at the Montessori where my older nephew is so the boys are together and their school has handled the pandemic incredibly well. They only go for the morning, and it lets my sister get a breath, work, take care of her H who is recovering from surgery (and a blood clot during recovery, it's a mess down in TX for my family!). Exercise is her mental health escape, so she can get a needed run in too. I'm not sure how we're related, but I've been assured that we are

Oh no STP, I'm sorry your dad has gotten worse. I hope he gets better soon. This disease is so fickle. I am glad your mom has been okay, and I hope she continues to improve. I will keep sending them good thoughts.

I would have to float to units that would make me very uncomfortable and would appreciate being compensated for that discomfort accordingly 😆 ETA: something changed with PRNs, I think the 24 hour minimum before incentive?

Okay I rechecked our email and there are two different bonus pay things, the one for you guys with the covid units and then the one that impacts us with NICU. My boss only sent us the info that was pertinent to our unit. Its probably because NICU has been extremely short. Its also not stackable for us with other incentive pay so it may not even be worth it for us. But I dont get the incentive pay so if I got the float pay it would be something at least. I really hope they change the prn minimum before incentive required hours. Its pretty discouraging to sign up to help out and not get the incentive any other nurse would get.

Well now my hospital isn’t sure there will be enough doses for all employees to get their second dose. They stopped giving out first doses, but they didn’t initially save for second doses.
So that’s great.
