My H has his interest piqued by the Peloton bike. Presumably we wouldn’t need a separate membership than the one we already have for the treadmill? I’ve never taken a spin class before so I have no idea if I’d like it but I’m definitely willing to try if he wants to get one. Most of you guys are not in my time zone but I do have some IRL friends here who have the bike.
Today was 5 min warmup with Jess 30 min punk rock run with Chase 10 min cool down with Becs 10 min full body stretch with Matty 5 min lower body stretch with Ben
I didn’t plan to do 2 stretches but I didn’t find the Matty one to be helpful for after running. It was more of a good class to unwind with in the evening so I’ll keep it bookmarked for that purpose in the future. Loved the Disney songs he picked though!

Feeling better and back at it. Eating has been atrocious but I enjoyed all the treats and celebrations this past week. I’m officially back on the macro counting tomorrow. Today I did a 30 minute 90’s ride with Matt and yesterday I did my first Jess King ride. It was from the fall in her Jess King Experience series and it definitely was not my usual vibe but it flew by and was really fun.

My left hip is acting up again. I knew I should have warmed up for my 5K run yesterday beyond just a few minutes of walking. So I’m going to do a 20 min restorative yoga session with Chelsea in a bit and see how it feels tomorrow. chocolatecake - congrats on your century ride! RunsforWineandCarbs, I’m glad your surgery went well and hopefully the next 6 weeks fly by for you. willow, ugh to the furnace dying in the middle of winter. BTDT and my AC did the same in mid-summer.

That was an easy fix thankfully but yeah wow our HVAC luck has sucked lately. 😂

lunarscallion yes your membership you already use on the Tread will work on the Bike, too. I *think* lemons has both the Tread and Bike and can confirm. What time zone are you in? We've managed to get a good group together across multiple time zones!

lunarscallion yes, your tread membership is good for the bike too. I confirmed that when I visited Peloton showroom so that makes that $39 monthly fee really affordable! Never mind the machine prices 🤪 When I purchased our Peloton bike, I had biked alot of outdoor miles but never really spin and it was love at first ride really 😁 there is so much varied content/abilities/music/instructors that it always feels fresh and new.

I would def make an effort to show up at a specific time though if it was going to be a group thing!

All my runs so far have been on the android app so I can't see people. Annoying. But my treadmill comes in 6(!) days and then I'll be able to keep an eye out for people. yay.

I did a 30 min intervals/arms ride with Ben and a 5 min cool down ride.
Have I told you lately how much I love him? He is just so mellow with the best music choices. I also did not know he is only 28 (birthday yesterday).

I tried my first Peloton strength training class (a 30 min full body strength w/ Selena) and I was a fan! I’ve bookmarked a few others to try, and I love how many options there are to choose from. I closed my rings today & the scale was in a good place this morning — almost breaking into the next decade!
B: espresso & protein shake, scrambled eggs with bacon L: 1/2 turkey sandwich & 1/2 banana D: My family did burgers, I did mine as a “Big Mac salad” with lite thousand island

Thanks all. New heater won’t be in until Monday so myself and the kids are at my parents now because they live super close. My parents are delighted with this surprise weekend sleepover lol (not sarcasm). I’m sorry for the stress of replacing the furnace, but I’m glad you have somewhere safe and warm to go! Hopefully the grandparent distraction will allow you some extra rest and meditative time.

I usually ride around 4:30pm or later on weekdays, I try to catch the live rides in that time slot when I can. On the weekends I try to ride before noon so the day doesn't get away from me!

I imagine this being jorkzy 's words of wisdom for us all. My kids only know of exercise to be stronger or faster. They are too young to know it is so often tied to weight. DD2 did yoga with me for quite a while today and kept saying how strong she was. We make a point not to openly associate working out and weight as a thing that goes hand in hand. So far they both love to exercise; running, bike riding, yoga, strength work. They love doing it all. I hope they always love it. Both girls are signed up for soccer this summer. Fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled this year. I only have boys, but I’ve tried hard to stress this with them too. We talk about how I exercise and make food choices to keep my body strong and healthy. I don’t ever discuss my weight or body issues in front of them because I grew up with that and I don’t want them to carry any of that for me. We also are wrapping up a unit on the body systems and how to take care of ourselves in my classroom, and I appreciate how I’ve been able to handle the nutrition aspect based on what I have learned from all of you and my own experiences with macros. Especially since most of my students have sensory aversions to food and tend to eat lots of “junk” foods, I like sharing the message that there are no bad foods and just trying to foster more awareness of what they’re eating and how it makes them feel.

I have been on the struggle bus today. I could not motivate to run in the cold, but I got on the bike for an hour long stack of rides. It felt good. Not sure how it has been down there temperature wise but it has been unseasonably warm this entire winter up here so the cold snap that hit this weekend feels exceptionally brutal!
