When Mh got home, I went to Target because I had a return and wanted to get some stocking stuffers. It was like the good old days of browsing the whole store, but woof I spent so much. Picked up two more toys for M2, stocking stuffers, and a lot of other random necessities.

Hey. This morning we ran to a store to ship my niece’s Christmas presents to her. We ended up being there for like half an hour because I decided to pack it in a flat rate box there and by the time I got that done there was a line. We then had to rush to make S’s haircut appt in time. Then after school we ran to my ILs house so the kids could help MIL deliver the dog treats they made last weekend. I also tried to order our Christmas cards at Walgreens. Dh went to pick them up but they didn’t print right and the name was cut off on the bottom. So then I decided to just reorder with a different design...got an email they are ready and then 30 minutes later a second email saying my order was cancelled. Wtf. I will go tomorrow to see what the issue is and if nothing else I can try to order from a different Walgreens. kim22 happy birthday to C! I can’t believe he’s three already, seems like should be turning one! klong11 yay C! I’m glad she gets to move up swim classes. slenle I was just thinking about the cocomelon toy, I hope it’s still there in the morning.

We were at the doctors office for over an hour. How did it go? Well...we didn’t get our normal pediatrician but the one who dropped us after I firmly requested L see an allergist to find out what he was allergic to exactly. It was awkward. The first thing he did was look up his record card and brought up his allergies. I then said, “he’s only allergic to cashews and pistachios. So he’s been able to have PB&J still”. He looked annoyed at me and it felt less awkward for me. He commented on his weight, however the percentage dropped some from last year and his height percentage went up so he said he’s not as concerned as he would have been last year (we haven’t seen this doctor since March 2017 when he dropped L). He then went into the speech about avoiding fast food, juice, soda. I respond like I do every year since he first brought it up on 2016. He asked what milk we drink and I said 2% normally bust sometimes 1%. He said we should only have him drink 1% or skim. That would make a big difference in his weight. He also made a comment about L being on an iPad when he came in and how I need to limit screen time. I told him L was doing his homework. He has to do 20 minutes of RazKids reading and 20 minutes of math practice. Both of which are on the iPad. It was getting late and I didn’t want him staying up too late. He just reiterated that I need to be careful. I did a major eye roll on that one. He made a comment about how L is very active and inquisitiveness. I said he is very active and does have a hard time staying still but he’s doing great one school. He said as long as his grades don’t drop he won’t recommend medicine to help (I’m not looking for meds for that so I don’t know why he phrased it the way he did). Then I asked him for a refill for his epipen. All of ours expired this summer and we didn’t have any refills. I need one for the house, one for my parents, and one for our travel bag. I think he thought I was just rubbing it in, I wasn’t. We just want to make sure he has it so if he has a reaction we can help him. Overall not horrible but I’m annoyed it took over an hour. We only saw the doctor for 15 minutes. I think he skipped over us and went to someone after us because he wanted to deal with me last.

Thank you lfig! Absences was definitely on my list, besides making accommodations. If I have any questions about what may be covered, can I reach out to you? This is all new to me. I was kind of trying not to do the 504, I've read that many schools push against them. But after talking to a friend who teaches special ed, she told me not to worry about it and push for Evie. Of course you can! Although I might not be of much help. The school did it and I haven’t even seen it. Lol. Much different than the IEP process.

Happy Birthday to C kim22! wedding how was your eye exam? My SIL does not have a blood clot, they think it was a muscle spasm. They're keeping her again tonight to control the pain. Said her lungs look the same as 2 weeks ago. Shes apparently going to be on the slower end of the Covid recovery scale. Thanks for asking. Unfortunately it wasn’t great. The exam was longer because a couple of issues were found. Apparently my eye gel is pulling away, which is a normal age change, but mine is pulling my retina so I am getting a recheck in a month and hopefully it will go away. The bigger thing though is that I have mild diabetic retinopathy in my left eye and my vision in that eye has become much worse since my exam a year ago. Diabetic retinopathy is basically blood vessels bursting by and the blood collecting behind the eye and can lead to blindness. There are some experimental laser treatments. 95% of people don’t lose total vision so I’m hanging my hat on that. In the meantime I need to get a new prescription, which we will do at the recheck, and wear my glasses all of the time instead of just while driving.

That all sounds scary, but the percentage is good! Sorry about the glasses. Get some fun frames!
