Re: Santa truck
They came to our neighborhood last week. It was cool as usual, but I had to laugh because normally they go really slow and stop at a couple of places in the middle of the street. Kids get to interact and get on the firetruck. This year due to COVID they were booking it and flying through the streets. My girls tried to bike after them to keep up. I've never seen them pedal so fast.

Add me to the shitty morning club.
Usually B sleeps in till I wake him up. So I am able to get up and get a shower in before I start, which is crucial for me when MH is away. S wakes early but doesn't need anything in the mornings. This morning, B came running in wide awake right when I was getting up. So I got him to the bathroom and put a show on my TV for him so he would just chill while I showered and got ready. I think that must have been too much of a change to his routine.
He was fine for breakfast, etc, but then as we were heading out the door, he flipped out. Started screaming he didn't want to go, threw his coat off, etc. I finally got him in the car (not easily) and he screamed at the top of his lungs and cried the whole way there. So that was fun. I finally got him to calm down enough to go inside but he was not happy about it. I'm hopeful his day improves.

wedding I hope your eye appointment goes well. What do they do for a diabetic eye exam? It's probably like what Evie has done. It is a dialated exam and I feel like they look at my eyes forever in the blue light checking for cataracts and glaucoma. They also check the pressures. My eyes dialate quickly but they always have me waiting forever and i get a migraine. |

mwhip ugh, that's scary. I hope your SiL is okay. And good for you, you badass taking care of the shipping issues. wedding you're selling me on this foot thing with how it grossed you out so much you wanted to vom. 😆 We actually bought some cheap foot peel masks from WalMart about a year ago but were too chicken to use them. A guy from TKD was telling MH about them and this dude has some feet--woof, so he made it sound like the most disgusting thing in the world that murdered your feet. It may be gross, but something tells me his were extra gross. But I think tonight is the night. vino grr. I hope Mr. Pissy Pants quits with the attitude. WTF to moaning and groaning in the middle of the night about it.  klong11 it actually warms my black heart that C recognizes all you do. It's a really great moment when your kids get it and show appreciation. I would not do a peel if you expect anyone to see your feet. I would be super grossed out if someone at karate did it and their feet were shedding on the mats! |

Re foot peels; I have the exact opposite. I have nothing to peel, my feet are always soft. I do however get blisters like crazy during warmer days...

Apparently this dude did it when he was going to be taking several days off class...his feet probably needed it. No one's seeing our feet for a while. No in-person TKD until at least next month so I figure it's as good a time as any. |

jewels , I'm sorry for the rough morning. Did they like their presents last night? OMG they loved them. B got a computer that helps him learn to right (it's like an etch and sketch with a computer attached so it shows you how to make the letters and does little guided drawings with them - I recommend it for anyone with a 3-4 year old) - he immediately sat down and wrote his name, then the names of all the kids in his class. S, among other things, got a giant stuffed pikachu which he snuggled with for the rest of the evening, read stories to, put down for a nap, etc. Thanks for asking |

I was just listening to Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp and busted up thinking of Michael singing Goodbye Toby in The Office. That is one of my favorite sitcom moments ever. His pure joy that he couldn't contain at finally being rid of a coworker he couldn't stand. I've had several coworkers over the years who I'd be overjoyed when they leave, but usually I just do the polite goodbyes. Michael's my hero for going for it.   |

M & H told MH that he would get a baby yoda aka the child birthday cake. Cue me frantically trying to find one. So I called Kroger.
ME: Hi, I know you usually have more licensed cakes in your booklets at the store, than you do online. Do you have any cakes for baby yoda?
Bakery lady: No.
Me: Do you have any star wars cakes?
Bakery lady : Yes
Me: Great! Which ones do you have?
Bakery lady: We have one with that little green guy.
Me: ...... oh

Lol at that episode inthekitty , it was a good one. I love Supertramp, so win/win. jewels sorry for the rough start, I hope this evening will be better! Hopefully it's just a pulled muscle mwhip . I know those are so painful (having had one in my shoulder recently) and your mind goes to the worst, even without the Covid stuff. Keep us posted vino Sorry your H was being a pill. Also, mediocre take-out has been our experience multiple times during all this. We finally just decided to stick to casual/typical 'take out' places that seem more used to doing it, and keep our expectations are low, lol. |

Hi.
C's Christmas program was this morning; my mom joined me for it and the kids were so cute. That was C's first time ever 'performing' so I wasn't sure how she'd do...she looked a bit 'reindeer in the headlights' (ha!) until she saw us in the audience and then relaxed and did great.
After that my mom and I got coffee and I helped her find a Xmas gift for a friend, then I ran some errands and dropped off my angel tree gifts before pick-up.
Currently net-battling a couple dopes on FB. People just kill me...I must be about to start my period or something b/c I want to go fight someone, lol.
Tonight I'm making chili and we're going to try to find a new Christmas movie to watch.

I feel accomplished! I was able to get the videos of C's performance sent to DH and MIL, AND politely told the sketchy roofer who's been pestering me to pound sand. I think he saw housewife + husband gone =$$$$. I'm more astute that I look, jerk. Normally I would call in DH to be the bad guy but it's kind of fun doing it myself  I sign the contract with the roofer we're going with next week. Big girl pants are firmly ON. |

Oh my gosh it drives me crazy. Stuff like Barbie dolls are the worst--all the stupid little plastic staples everywhere, even throughout their hair. When Amazon has the option of "frustration-free packaging" I pick it every time, but it's rare I see it. Can't you figure out how to market your product attractively without bizarre packaging? And does the packaging really draw that many sales anyway since so many parents are skipping the toy aisle and going online or shopping sans children? |
