Friday...it’s about time

I’m at work, trying to keep things afloat. I have to take L to the doctors today. His regular doctor had to take some time off so we have his original pediatrician who dropped us after I disagreed with him about L’s allergic reaction and demanded him to get the test. So that should be fun....right?

I'm at work. I get off at noon. I'm having what I feel will be my last pt appointment at 2:30 and then Cadence has swim at 5. She is not excited to go since her friend advanced to the next level last week. I told her I would find out what class she moved to once she advances.

Here's Cadence's picture from last night. She only had her mask off for the picture and there is plexiglass between them, plus his face shield. But she didn't care, she loves that old man and was just happy to see him. LOL

chrisy01 I hope the appointment isn't too awkward. I'm sure the doctor will be professional. People get 2nd opinions all the time.

This morning has been a true test to my patience. Evie was not getting ready for school...like avoiding it at all costs. Finally 5 minutes before we should walk out the door, when she was making a card for her best friend, I told her I would be in the jeep and she could come down when she was ready. She started yelling for me to help her and finally getting ready. I'm so tired of doing this every morning. I wake her up an hour before we need to leave, at least, so she has time, she just procrastinates.

I have also been on the phone with UPS Freight about an invoice that was on our account unauthorized, Estes Express who lost a shipment, then FedEx Freight who misapplied a payment. It's been fun. I have a call in 34 minutes, I'm going to get some time on the elliptical before it starts so I'm not such a bitch on the call.

I'm hoping to finish wrapping the Christmas gifts this afternoon. Today is MH's birthday so we have a babysitter and will be going to dinner.

Preschool and zoom school today. MH took the day off and I ordered a target pick up.

Hello all. TFIF - I’m really not feeling work. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for me lately and everything about it just feels so negative.

Santa is supposed to come in the fire truck tonight. My kids love that and I love seeing their excitement so am looking forward to that.

Also maybe TMI, but I’m currently doing one of those foot peel treatments. I know they’re gross once all the dead skin starts flaking but this dry, cold weather has my feet looking terrible.

I actually got UPS Freight sorted out, they admitted the additional charges weren't requested by us.
Estes Express actually appears to have lost a shipment at my local terminal, but it ships on my supplier's account, so they can sort it out and reship.
FedEx Freight...I sent a shitty email to my rep.  Told him I wasn't sitting on hold for their mistake and they can contact me direct, give me the direct number of someone to contact, or sort it out.

I'm a bitch.

yummeecookee my feet are super dry right now too. I bought a new lotion and balm for them and it's really helpful. Since I'm WFH, I don't wear socks or shoes all day, so I've had to remind myself to at least put socks on, to keep some moisture in.

I strangely love those foot peels, my feet feel so soft after!

I haven't started wrapping gifts...it's on my list for the weekend.

Oh one more thing I thought was funny- B has a “plaid” theme day at school. She doesn’t own any plaid so I had her wear one of C’s button downs.

I hope I have not opened the gate to them trying to borrow each others’ clothes. Once C saw her in his shirt, it suddenly became his favorite shirt that he wanted to wear today. 😑

My SIL is back in the hospital. She had a sharp pain in her back yesterday, just below her shoulder blade. The pain got much worse and she couldn't get comfortable, which was effecting her breathing. Immediate concern is a blood clot in the lung caused by Covid. The CT ruled out anything in the interior the lung, but they can't confirm the exterior of the lung due to her breathing. They're giving her pain meds and are going to run another CT to see for sure. My brother is hoping it's a pulled muscle due to her aggressive coughing, but if it is a clot, they will start her on blood thinners.

yummeecookee I strangely like the foot peels too. I do one or 2 through the winter, and one right before summer. But, I just bought some heated foot and hand things that you put lotion on and then slide on the heated things and it allegedly helps your skin absorb the moisture. I like it so far. I’m trying to do it once a week to avoid that winter dry out my hands and feet always get.

I have all the gifts in my closet. Cadence knows they are in there, but also knows they get returned if she peeks. I told her this morning I needed to just wrap them already and she said, "The problem is you are so busy. You have work, which is a lot, and then you come home and have to make dinner and do all this other stuff."

mwhip praying for just a pulled muscle. Blood clots can be scary. My sister had a pulmonary embolism 6 days after she had her youngest via c-section. She drove herself to the hospital in the middle of the night because she felt like something was wrong. Her husband had to stay home because they had a 4 yo, twin 2yo’s, and a new baby at home. She had PPA and was afraid to go to sleep because she was afraid if she did, she wouldn’t wake up. But, a few days in the hospital and blood thinners fixed her right up.

It was MH birthday last night so we ordered take out from a steak house that we would normally go to, the flavours were there but it's just not the same. Lame. After the kids went to bed he was in a mood, up all night huffy and puffy waking me up being all dramatic. I get it you're mad, but fuck spit it out I'm not doing a guessing game at 2am. I still dont know whats up. He is supposed to have a half day then off for a month. He is such a buzz kill sometimes.

I've donethis one. It was great/gross but my feet feeling soft didn't last long. Now I am using O'Keefe's Healthy Foot cream everyday under my socks. I had to pumice callused areas twice in the first few weeks but otherwise they are all gone and my feet are super soft.

Also the peeling wasn't as fun as I expected. The pics show things peeling off in large sheets. Mine was just small particles and when I would take my socks or shoes off there would be particles in there and it made me want to vomit.

C got up before 5am this morning. I don’t know why. When I got up at 7 he was insane. Extremely hyper, running around like a lunatic, scaring the cats. After I dropped him off I realized I forgot to pack his snacks. Luckily my neighbor who works at the school lives down the street and hadn’t left yet so she brought them in. Then a half an hour ago I realized I didn’t remind him to buy lunch today. It’s pizza day so I hope he remembered but if he didn’t then he has no lunch. I emailed his teacher to check. Unfortunately I can’t just walk into the school to drop it by.

This afternoon I have my annual diabetic eye exam. I have been putting this off for three years because I hate it so much but I have noticed some cloudiness in my eyes lately so it has to happen. Good news is that Dh is picking up the lunatic from aftercare.

Other than that, no excitement here. Open season ends at close of business Monday so I expect some panicked phone calls by the end of the day.

wedding you're selling me on this foot thing with how it grossed you out so much you wanted to vom. 😆 We actually bought some cheap foot peel masks from WalMart about a year ago but were too chicken to use them. A guy from TKD was telling MH about them and this dude has some feet--woof, so he made it sound like the most disgusting thing in the world that murdered your feet. It may be gross, but something tells me his were extra gross. But I think tonight is the night.

vino grr. I hope Mr. Pissy Pants quits with the attitude. WTF to moaning and groaning in the middle of the night about it.

klong11 it actually warms my black heart that C recognizes all you do. It's a really great moment when your kids get it and show appreciation.

My morning started off with breaking a nail really far down, having MH be a dick about cleaning up the dog crap in the yard before the garbage truck comes so I went to do it myself and slipped on the path spilling out dog crap. Luckily I did make it before the garbage man so it's done now.

Work has been insane all week and I'm hoping for little extra stuff to come in today so I can focus on reports I need to write. Fuck me, I shouldn't have said that--just had an email come in of the first extra assignment of the day.

Tonight we're going "shadow hunting." Some BS I just made up. I figured since it gets dark so early I can entertain the girls for a while with sending around the house in the dark with flashlights to see the coolest shadows they can find.
