We just had B’s appt on Monday, I forget what her height was but I seem to remember 46 percentile. She was 50lb even. No shots, just a hearing test which she said was “fun.” B had always been right in the middle percentiles. She is also predictably wearing size 7s in clothes. Altho this is the weird moment, I believe where maybe you can get a 6/7 or 7/8 and then it just jumps from 8 to 10 right? Also not related, but my other Nov kid is colorblind. I don’t think I’ve shared that. That's crazy. How did you discover it?

My dad and 3 of my male cousins are colorblind so as soon as C was showing the confusion, it was instantly familiar. Our pedi had always recommended we wait until 5yo to take him to the eye doctor, as by then, they could really work out if it was an issue vs a kid still trying to learn colors and not getting the names right.

S has his well visit. I had no concerns, but the Dr. is concerned about his height. He is 45.75 in and 47 lbs. she said he barely grew since last year. She wants to see me back in 6 months for a height check and already discussed the possibility of hormones if he doesn't catch up.
So that stunk.
Then we discussed my concerns about B and she wants me to track him a bit and do a telehealth appt with her in a few weeks and she'll give me a referral either for OT or possibly a behavioral psych.

jewels that’s interesting about the height thing. I went and looked at H’s stats and she grew 3” from her 2019 to 2020 check up. I wonder how much growth they expect every year. My pedi didn’t mention her height at all aside from showing me her growth chart.

My pedi didn’t mention her height at all aside from showing me her growth chart. He apparently grew just under an inch. From what she explained to me, it’s the sharp drop off that she’s concerned about. So even though H is short, it sounds like she’s steadily growing so I doubt there’s cause for alarm.

We had to do that the year before last and I was stressing out. Then he jumped about 3 inches in six months. Try not to worry too much now and see what happens. Easier said then done of course!

Thanks wedding. Of course, I fell down the rabbit hole of reading what would come with a hormone deficiency diagnosis (me giving him shots daily till he's past puberty). So I'm praying that he grows enough, and there's no diagnosis. I also don't want him to be super short, as that's tough for a guy. So... let's just hope he's a late bloomer!

jewels - I know it's totally anecdotal but Colin was super big for his age and suddenly only grew 2 inches over the span of 2 years. He went from maybe 90% to 50% on the chart, it was so odd. And then had a massive growth spurt that put him back around the 80th percentile. Kids are weird.

jewels I’m sorry I forgot to comment earlier, These worries suck. For what it’s worth, ds has had dips in his growth before, and they always picked up. Ds seems to be catching up fine now, but since he was a dysmature baby (small for gestational age) they talked about him possibly needing hormone therapy, starting around 12yo. I really hope your boy catches up too!

Finally had Evie's appointment this morning. I talked her into the flu shot, so we both got them. She is 71 lbs and 4'2". Dr said she didn't grow as much this year, but her weight continued to increase, but with all the meds we are on, she isn't worried about it at this time.

Josie‘s appointment got pushed off from 8th of December to the 17th to the 31st and now it’s sometime in the middle of January. I’m happy I don’t have any concerns to bring up with the doctor, but it annoys me that next year she’ll have to wait until one day after last year‘s appointment because of insurance purposes.

We finally has N’s appointment since we rescheduled due to Covid. She’s 61 lbs and 50”, around 80-85% for both. Passed vision and hearing.
