trtlcrzy my SIL finally got her test results yesterday morning and they were positive. They switched her meds to remdesivir, and she's slowly feeling better. She also felt up to answering texts yesterday so it was good to hear from her. My brother had a rapid test done yesterday, he's had a low grade fever off and on all week, it came back negative. He's going to call his doctor to get the regular test done since I think we can all say, he should be positive. Talking to my H about it is so frustrating, we are not on the same page with things regarding Covid.

Morning! Looks like a snowy/rainy day here today. I'm really hoping for a lazy day but pretty sure the kids aren't going to be into that!

Morning, we did a quick run to see my parents outside yesterday bc it was warm and let them see the kids open their birthday gifts. I'm glad we went with that approach bc my SM said she was going to drop off this week with likely no warning. I also picked some more girl clothes and somehow had another carload of clothes, so I sorted those last night. The keeping track of various sizes of clothes and what to do with them is a full time job.
I watched the Michelle obama documentary on netflix last night and it was great. I haven't watched something I've wanted to watch in what feels like weeks.

I hope you aren't as behind on laundry as I am... I hadn't done mine or Evies laundry since last Friday. I ended up taking stuff to my moms to wash, then home to dry. We limited out exposure to each other, I went in through her garage, her laundry is right off it, and she stood on the other side of her kitchen when we talked.

Hi! We did some yard work yesterday, and decorated a little more for Christmas. Apparently I’ve gone tree crazy, but it makes the house feel so cozy. I have two big planters outside that usually hold begonias/impatients in the summer and mums in the fall. I threw the mums out yesterday and I need something in there for color-What can I buy that would last through the snowy winter months? I would get some greens, branches, and berry picks. Here’s an example idea: If you want to make it easy, Costco has premade planters available.

mwhip glad to hear your SIL is starting to improve and I hope your brother is okay too since I would be surprised if he doesn't have it. That must be hard if your h isn't on the same page about it, since its shared risk involved.

That must be hard if your h isn't on the same page about it, since its shared risk involved. It is so frustrating, especially since he high risk with his heart issues. I tried talking to him about it, after he read, and told me about, an article from a 50yr old man who said it was like a cold and he recovered quickly. I pointed out that my SIL, who is healthy, is in the hospital because of it, and that he should be worried because of his underlying health issues. He just said he isnt worried, which makes me shut down. Like come on, if someone like him gets it, the risk is high, and I dont want to have to raise Evie on my own because he doesn't take shit seriously.

Ugh that is hard to deal with, sure it could be just a cold, but there are potential long term impacts, and scary if he is high risk. Hoping we just need to hang on for a few more months and these vaccines pan out.

I have a ton of evergreen branches here and I thought , “let me just make it myself,” but I’d rather buy it pre-made. Thanks on the Costco tip— I’m placing a Instacart delivery tomorrow so maybe they can send those too.

Sorry about the washer, mwhip. I’d be lost. Hopefully your husband will come around and take a situation more seriously. I’d be nervous with his underlying condition too.

PDQ
Got in another lovely argument with my mother last night. My dad threw up in bed and she was pissed she had to change the sheets again. Apparently he’s had accidents the past 2 nights, so I bought him some depends.
So I wake up to my mother sighing loudly and making noises every 15 seconds because her back hurts from taking the sheets off and making the bed. I came out of my room when I heard her say, “I should of just left your ass there.” She’s in tears making a big scene.
I follow her out to the living room and tell her to sit. I get that she’s having a breakdown but I’m supposed to leave today and I can’t do that if she’s not going to be able to take care of him. After 10 min of yelling back and forth (where she said some pretty shitty things) my dad comes out and tries to stick up for my mom. Ummm, no.
I know she had too much wine, but how the hell am I supposed to get on a plane today and leave my dad, if I’m not positive she’ll be able to handle it?

slenle hope they recover quickly and no one else got it from them. Do you need to be tested since her story has changed a bit with timeline? I’m not sure, but I just ordered the at home saliva test just to be safe. I would feel like such an ass if I have it because I just saw my newly pregnant best friend who is being extra cautious yesterday. I figured I was safe coming off of quarantine, then i heard from my mom after that.

tgrimes I’m so so sorry. Maybe a weird suggestion, but this is part of my job, Is there an informal care organisation you can contact for some support? We have consultants working for us that give emotional support, but also tips on how to deal with stuff like this.
I just really want to give you a hug and a big glass of wine.

mwhip E now has an autoimmune disease. Does that make her high risk? Maybe your H would respond to that. I’m sorry you aren’t on the same page.

nam2013 How is baby girl? Hope all is going well with the adjustment to the new little one. You’re sweet to ask! Baby girls is doing great. She’s keeping us awake during the night, but that’s to be expected. She lost a lot of weight on the first day, so we had to supplement with some formula and I pump to make my milk come in faster, but she’s nursing and gaining like a champ now. We’ve had lots of window visitors today, I felt a little like an animal at the zoo, but it was nice to show her to my family and most importantly my grandma. You can’t really grasp how tiny she is from a picture. I myself need to slow down a bit and take a little more rest, I didn’t do this enough with the other two either and came crashing down on day six or so, so I need to be careful.

I know it’s easier said than done with two older kiddos that want your attention too. Glad it’s going well so far and your family got to see her.

One of my coworkers died last night from COVID. He was part of the maintenance team and was the nicest guy ever. He would just do nice little things for us, like take it upon himself to water our plants while we have been out or bring in treats for us. He was the first person I saw every morning when I walked in.
He went to TN to bury his MIL. I don’t know what she passed from. While there he got COVID and ended up in the hospital. He was improving and we got good update Thursday that he was expected to be out soon. Just like they have been reporting, he took a quick turn. Friday he was vented but his wife felt confident he would be ok. He wasn’t. He had 9 kids, mostly grown.
This is the first person I have known to pass from this. It’s horrible. Please stay vigilant. We are all bound to have losses if we don’t.
