I was doing pretty well last night I went to bed at a relatively normal time and then woke up at 11:45 and checked my phone and then I didn’t go back to sleep until almost 3.
I think I’m still running on some kind of adrenaline, and I am probably going to break my phone with the number of times I picked it up today to refresh NPR.

Lindsay fucking Graham and Mitch slimy bastard McConnell. WTF America?
I'm still cautiously optimistic, but even with a Biden win I'm still disturbed by the sheer amount of racist, ignorant bigots out there. We really, really, really need better education in the US. It doesn't even take critical thinking to see through Trump, just basic low level thinking. My kids can see that he's a total jackass. Yet here we are with so many who have seen just what kind of a president he'd be and they want more. The thought of no plan throughout the whole pandemic is frightening.

I'm still cautiously optimistic, but even with a Biden win I'm still disturbed by the sheer amount of racist, ignorant bigots out there. We really, really, really need better education in the US. It doesn't even take critical thinking to see through Trump, just basic low level thinking. My kids can see that he's a total jackass. Yet here we are with so many who have seen just what kind of a president he'd be and they want more. The thought of no plan throughout the whole pandemic is frightening. A 1000% this. To add to today’s fun, school has returned to remote until at least late January. My sister got a call this morning that my nephew has a covid case in his class. We were going to have just my sister and my parents over Friday for T’s birthday but not anymore. His 2 friends are still quarantined from the daycare case that ended up being a false positive, apparently you can’t end quarantine early even if you were not actually exposed.

joelies I feel the same way. Other than HIH I am not affected in the least with your election, my lens is very non American. I watch news that is global or Canadian based. Sure the news will cover the US but every once in a while if I accidently surf the channels and land on CNN I am very

To end the night on a decent note last night and come down a bit on the anger, I watched the finale of The Office. It did end on a very good note. The last season was much better than 7 and 8 and I’m glad I finally finished.

Several people in my office voted for Trump solely because of abortion. They will always and forever vote republican, only for this reason.

I wasn’t up too late, but was up early with V and I’ve just been holding my breath this whole time. Very annoyingly MIL included me in a group text with all of her Republican family and they are “praying”. Bunch of idiots. She knows I am a dem so I don’t know what she was thinking including me. As much as I want Biden to win, I’m more nervous about the senate race. I hope we can flip it.

I seriously eye roll at the people who vaguely hide behind "policy" for voting for Trump. What policy? The one where he plays golf every other day and flips-flops on every issue he Tweets about? He has no policy. It's a convenient way to veil their bigotry.
And the abortion nonsense is total BS. If you really care that strongly about abortion, then pay attention to what the data shows you. Better sex ed and access to birth control (which typically dems are for and repubs are against) is the key to fewer abortions. So if you want abortions to decrease you'd vote dem. But the republican party thrives on misinformation. Just like people vaguely voting republican "for the economy." Well that's rich because you look at the past 30 years and democrats have improved the economy while republicans tank it. Or "the military." Republicans start never-ending wars.
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I'm just so frustrated. I don't see an end in sight because I see better education as the key, but as long as republicans are in control that will never happen.

Ugh, I'm sorry about your school/T's birthday situation kim22. Our school was guaranteed out until 13NOV. Well that date is quickly approaching and no word of change. I think it'll be extended at least through the end of the year. I was bummed when I found out that if they return, some teachers will stay remote and just teach DL kids (that part I'm fine with) but that means the classrooms will all be jumbled and M won't have the same teacher. Not sure about C. I know there would still be some mix-ups, but I wish they would have put the kids who likely want to stay DL with teachers who need to remain DL for health reasons and visa versa so it wouldn't require so many to switch. |

But mixing up the classes midyear sucks too. I'm so over 2020. |
