Went to the Dr for the collarbone/shoulder pain on my right side(not my left side frozen shoulder). He sent me for an x-ray that came back "unremarkable". So we're treating it as a muscle strain. If the nsaids he prescribed don't do anything for the pain in 5 days then he'll refer me to an ortho for possible cortisone shots. Joy. Getting old is a bitch.

She is on life support. Her husband had a panic attack and passed out and hit his head. He's in the ER.

My grandma passed away today. I have told my oldest but I need to tell the other 3. I’m waiting at soccer practice for DD now. I was so flustered I drove all the way to her gymnastics gym to pick her up before I remembered she was at soccer. I’ve been with the little boys since I found out so I have been holding myself together for hours.

work was stupid busy today, this is my first chance to check in.

Around 1, I got a message from a neighbor or asking if i saw the email from the school. No, ive been swamped and haven't had a chance to check. So I look, nothing. She sends me a screenshot from our school stating we had a positive covid test, if your child was around this individual, you will get a 2nd email.

Check my spam, there's the email along with 2 others from previous weeks. So I keep checking my email all day. Finally tonight, I thought about the spam folder. There was the email from evies principal that someone in her class had tested positive. Evie had told me about a student being sick today...

So this girl was at school all day yesterday and got sent home around 2 because her chest was tight, then wasn't in today. She's the only one out, so its obvious its her.

Guess we see how good the safety precautions are that the school has taken.

I saw our quarantine rules and now I no longer want to go back because we will be quarantined all the freaking time. Add in all my kid’s sports, and we take 3 other towns in 2 other counties down with us.

We're at a hotel in my small home town. We went fanceh and got the presidential suite. Lolz. It was only $12 more than a normal room and less than $100. It's huge and has a giant jet tub. The girls loved that. They are just so excited to be out of the house.

My period blessed me 5 freaking days early so I kind of feel like dying. I really wanted to go for a run in the morning because we're right across the street from a big park. Hopefully I'll be up for it.

lahdeedah yes, the kids wear masks all day except when at recess, they take them off and clip them to shirts. They only have recess with their class so the teacher watches them closely. When they eat, in the classroom, they pull the masks down, but don't remove them. Otherwise, they keep them on, even though they're 6' apart.

kim22 the principals email said we are normal, no need to quarantine. Im kind of surprised, but my guess is with all the precautions in place, there shouldn't be contact between students, which seems impossible at this age.

I don't know if we will hear anything. Im not friends with the little girls mom. Altbough I want to find her on FB and see if anyone else in the family has tested positive. It had to come on quick because temp checks are done at drop off and they wouldn't have allowed her to go into the school if she had one. Evie said she was fine until afternoon. So crazy.

mwhip That makes sense. If they are in masks for the majority of the day, there should be. Low chances of spread. I just hope the little girl will be ok.

I read something similar yesterday in the Washington Post. It was about why the K- 12 infections are lower than anticipated, and it mentioned that the states who are taking social distancing and masking up seriously are not seeing those levels of infection which is really good to know.

Different country, different situation of course. But kids k-6 have been going to school (without masks and without distance between kids) since June (with a 6 week break during summer) and there have been no outbreaks on schools. The occasional student/teacher has tested positive, but nothing major. I’m holding on to that.

Thanks for helping put my mind at ease! Evie is really good about wearing a mask and I know the teacher takes them to wash hands a few times a day, plus samitizer in the room.

As for me, I’m a wrack, not so much for the kids but for me (and Dh) both in schools with 1000/1800 students, no masks no distance between students. FFFC I’m seriously considering calling in sick for these last two weeks...
