Cadence lost her shit last night. Her attitude was through the roof and I took the tablet away. She was pissed. I sat her down and talked with her. She just has so much pent up frustration over online school and not seeing her friends and school is even harder when she's having to also learn technology aspects in conjunction with just learning to read and write. While doing her assignments, she just kept saying, "I'm the worst, I'm the worst".
So we talked, she cried it out, we're going to keep working on it, obviously.

I promised her today that after she finishes her assignments we'll go buy some Halloween decorations. She is unimpressed with what we've done in the past apparently and wants more. She has also gone from wanting to be a creepy clown, to a ghost, to a zombie, and now she's at Frankenstein and I would be the Bride of Frankenstein and mh gets to be Igor. We'll see how long this choice lasts. Really happy I didn't order the clown costume.

Morning! N doesn’t have school tomorrow (teacher workshop day) so we are leaving in the morning to go camping. I’m spending today getting backed up and doing laundry.

I start volleyball tonight.. a double header starting at 8:30pm. I haven’t played in 6 months. I’m going to be so tired and sore tomorrow!

kidding. Good morning. I had a tough work and parenting day yesterday and it rolled into today and I'm already just fried. Its not even 11am.

Also in random hell that is my family: my cousin, the one that lived with my grandma and now lives in her house with her husband and 5 kids. She's been feeling bad for over a year. Attributed it to depression and ignored it. Its gotten really bad the last month and finally went to the hospital when she couldn't physically get out of bed anymore. So long story short- she's dying. She had an infection in her body that caused her spleen to bled out into her body. She had lost 1/3 of her blood by the time she got to the hospital. They had to intubate her and she's on a ventilator. They removed her spleen yesterday and now she is in hour 3 of a 12 hour heart surgery. The infection spread to her heart and 2 of her valves are failing and if the infection breaks off it will cause her to stroke out. They are not optimistic she will make it off the table.. my mom is understandably devastated. They are supposed to leave Saturday morning for Mexico. I don't know if they are going now. This all started Sunday. Its been insane.

Edit: shes only 31. Her husband can't work because no one can keep 5 kids especially since the last one was born during corona and hasn't met anyone. She just screams bloody murder until her dad gets her.

We’re out on the beach. The hostess at breakfast recognized us from our trips down here 3+ years ago 😳

Haven’t heard much from home so I guess no news is good news. I don’t want MIL to feel like I’m constantly checking on her and truly I think she probably has everything under control and is more organized than I am 😂 She brought a ‘mystery bag’ with all sorts of activities and projects.

lahdeedah I saw your tag but wasn’t able to respond at that moment and it looked like you got great info. If y’all do end up pursuing it and end up in VB or have questions about that area I’m your gal! Feel free to PM me, from what you said in the thread yesterday it might even be the base my H was at.

Our moms are the same age! My sisters and I are giving my parents (my dad is retiring in a few months)a gift certificate for a northern light husky sled ride.

Y'all, my school district laid out their plan for returning back to face to face October 19th. It....is not good. WE have until tomorrow to make our decision and then we'll be locked in for the next 6 weeks. All the parents are upset.

They can only allow 10 kids in a classroom with the teacher. If more than 10 kids in the class want to do face to face, there will be an overflow area where those kids will keep their teacher but be learning virtually. Also the kids in the actual classroom, will also be on devices while the teacher is teaching into a webcam.

If you choose to stay virtual, you will be reassigned a district teacher. So you can't even keep your own teacher like the overflow kids will and the teacher may not even be from our campus. It doesn't make any sense.

I feel like we're just rushing back to face to face without a solid plan and we're creating an inequity between the kids. Augh.

Hi. Last day of 4 am wake up call until next week. Not as tired today, but it’s still wet and rainy outside. I completely forgot about M2’s speech appointment yesterday. Whoops. I will set an alarm on my phone so I don’t do that again.

Thanks for the advice yesterday ladies. It’s still an option, but I’m not sure mh is ready to get out of sports yet. He didn’t say as much, but I get the feeling he is skeptical. I’m more gung ho about it because it sounds like a good gig for us all. He talked to another guy that made the transition yesterday and got some good info. Today he has two new sports related opportunities he wants to explore. I have a feeling we may be going back and forth about this for a while. I’m not frustrated yet because I get it, but since I am a planner and we have no idea where we will be next year and the unknown is hard mentally.

Wtf? tgrimes Who came up with that plan? How many kids per class last year? Sounds like everyone should be calling and asking- no demanding- a better plan. I think that is the worst plan I have heard so far.

tgrimes, wtf? I hate the idea of sending them to school only to continue virtual learning, but to then tell the parents that want to stay home virtual that they can't keep the teacher, who is doing it all virtual anyway? that makes no sense.

She had bad teeth and got absesses all the time. They think from one of them. How severe the infection is in her heart they are guessing it started in spring of 2019. She had her teeth pulled and got dentures last summer. But I guess no antibiotics were ever given.

This plan makes no sense. I hope enough people complain about it so they change it.
