There are currently 23 kids in M's class.  Also, our school district did not approve an A/B rotation for elementary schools, so that isn't' an option.   

If you recall our teacher moved up with our class and we all chose to keep her.  As of now, she will be applying to teach virtually, unless there's an option for her to teach face to face while still keeping all of the kids together regardless of which option they choose.

Morning. H has pictures today. I straightened her hair and of course I got her ear. She was very angry with me. S was supposed to wear a baseball cap to school today and we forgot to grab it before we left. Luckily her teacher had an extra for her to wear. I felt really bad cause everyone else had them on.

She has been in the past, yes. Supposedly she has been clean for 3 years. We do know she is clean now, as she's had non stop blood work this month and especially this week. The drugs contributed to the state of her teeth and needing them pulled.

tgrimes that sounds like an insane plan... and also a plan that does not have childrens best interest at heart one single bit. Hope they can stop for a minute and realise this.

I honestly think she would be struggling even IN school. It's just taking awhile for her to catch on to reading and writing.

She also keeps saying she misses my Mom, so I'll need to set up a visit with her soon, so she can get a Grandma fix.

tgrimes I don’t understand the logic behind this at all, but I agree with lahdeedah that I would demand an explanation and alternative options, and would not stop short of showing up at the district office with a bunch of parents.

The way it is now, I lose my teacher regardless of which option i choose.  So I guess I'd choose face to face and run the risk of getting the overflow area.

The US is such a freaking mess. Covid was addressed in my conference this morning and woof to predictions without nationwide mask mandates and reducing restrictions. I saw a graph the other day comparing the growth in different countries worldwide and it shows how much of an impact poor management and politicizing a health crisis had as other countries leveled off in deaths and ours continued to climb.

klong11 yay for your job news! I'm sorry about C and school. And that she can be so hard on herself. I personally resonant with that trait and it can be hard to effectively address. On the plus side I hope it leads her to strive to do her best and be successful in the long run.

Finishing up with my conference for the day and getting ready to hit the road and drive down to OR. I think the important stuff is packed. I'll grab my work laptop as soon as the conference is done because I still have some work obligations.

Overall I've been super productive this week and feeling good. Now just hoping it doesn't rain tomorrow for 10 minutes for the wedding.

I forgot to say that we got a note this morning when Mh dropped M2. A kid in his room is in quarantine because the parent tested positive. FX the kid doesn’t end up being positive- he doesn’t have any symptoms yet.

M2 did come home with a runny nose, but I just expect that it’s from the cooler weather this past week. They are not making any of kids in his class quarantine.

She came out of surgery. My mom posted this update.

UPDATE: just met with the surgeon. The next 6 hours are critical. Dani is in critical condition. Her heart is in cardigenic shock. This is not good. Please pray. Her organs may start failing. The surgery went good but she was in such bad shape when she got here, they don't know if her body is strong enough to fight.

I meant to comment yesterday lahdeedah , but had to get my thoughts together because I am very.....for lack of better word anti military. Sure it has provided us a life of financial stability and good benefits BUT the trade off of everything else is something that if I could turn back time I would no way choose again. We have done ok because we live a very civilian life, dont live on base, MH has been posted but I havent left our family home etc. IME experience regardless if you are a civilian or reg force within the job you are still expected to somewhat live that culture and it's not for everyone. The moves, the promises, the instability of being in a contract and them basically deciding where and when you go places and that's not even touching on the mental side of the job.

Anyway. I'll dissent from the group and say the stability of the job isnt 'worth' the other parts of it. I'm happy to discuss more if you'd like, I'm just a PM away.

inthekitty in the same vein, the school is doing an amazing job teaching the kids the social emotional aspects of it all. They have daily lessons on feelings and weekly lessons with the counselors on coping mechanisms and such. I'm just hoping Cadence can start using what she's learning. But the lessons give me good things to pull from when she is having issues.

My grandma passed away today. I have told my oldest but I need to tell the other 3. I’m waiting at soccer practice for DD now. I was so flustered I drove all the way to her gymnastics gym to pick her up before I remembered she was at soccer. I’ve been with the little boys since I found out so I have been holding myself together for hours.

lahdeedah I echo vino's sentiments for enlisting for an Active Duty position, but am pro-DoD civilian. It's especially to challenge to be an "old" enlistee (over 25). I've seen so many of those folks have difficulty adjusting.

Some of you may recall that I tried to do a flip on the rings of our swing set and my body just wasn’t strong enough to do it. Well I did it today! 💪 My arms aren’t complete wet noodles anymore.

chrisy01 I’m at FY end I too. The judiciary wide accounting system closes tomorrow o I will be out of the rat race soon. This year wasn’t too bad since our budget was cut so harshly. I just have a couple things pending. Good luck to you!

Dh worked from home today and he seriously cramped my style. I felt like every time I went to pee he was pooping so I could even just wait a minute. He also made a huge mess making himself ramen for lunch. I’m excited to be alone tomorrow.
