She didn’t say it today. But she did on Saturday. Ahh, the reactions make a bit more sense to me now. greenolive, did it ever go above 99? And when did it start? No it never did. Her mild elevated temp, ill call it that since some don't count 99 as a a fever at all. Lasted from about 3 to 6 pm. Her normal temp is right around 98.2-98.5. This is when I came to the conclusion it was viral and not allergenic. On Saturday.

New doggo goes for his first heartworm treatment on Wednesday. Unfortunately he has started peeing in the house, but the heartworm could be leading to other issues. The doc thinks once it is clear, a lot of other things may clear as well. Good luck. Have you done heartworm treatment with a dog before? My rescue dog was in the middle of her treatments when we brought her home. The vet said she did really well after her shots, but she definitely felt very poorly and had her only accidents ever the day after her second set of shots. It’s really rough on them. I have not, but my mom retired from the vet's office. She's pretty familiar with it. We also got the protocol from the doctor about making sure he rests, isn't overly active, etc. I will keep that in mind about the day after accidents. Thanks!

Not free. I have a 50 copay. That sucks. We're in a good position financially, and still wouldn't be able to do $50 for every time we get allergy/cold like symptoms. It does a lot. It goes up to 75 for specialist and its 10% coinsurance for ER. I went to the ER way back towards beginning of this year (non covid related) and they came in and were like okay 900 please. I busted out laughing.

This is when I came to the conclusion it was viral and not allergenic. On Saturday. 100.4 is when it becomes a fever, but it also depends on the method you used. Is you did under the arm, you have to add a degree to whatever the thermometer says. In general, a three hour temp of 99 in a toddler (per my pedi) doesn't really count. If I then developed symptoms then I personally would get tested because it's easy/cheap to do here and my work is super flexible/I have tons of PTO. But I know it's not like that everywhere. Again, I am speaking generally. I realize that Olive has shared other details that make people feel she's being reckless. Are oral and rectal temperatures the same? I feel like I've read different things. I took my kid's temperature orally because he was so stuffy this morning but I also wasn't too confident with the process because 1) is he really keeping it under his tongue and 2) he kept wanting to open his mouth because his nose was stuffy. But I felt badly about taking a 3YO's temperature rectally. He gets temped at preschool and it was fine.

Today is the day I will say goodbye to my 17 year old dog. I’ve had him since he was a tiny puppy, and I hardly remember life without him. I am currently snuggling with him and pulling out old pics instead of working. Oh i'm so sorry Bluebird. Sending you and your pup lots of love today.

greenolive I never jump on you, but this time I'm wtfing you really bad. If you've got symptoms and can't afford a test, at least stay home for 14 days! Going to an office is not fucking isolating, even if you're not near people, you're still using the toilets and breathing re-circulated air! It's people who do this shit (and worse) who are keeping us in the state we're in. Fucking think!

It's idiots like this who are going to keep us all in lockdown for years! And they'll end up killing a vulnerable person at some point by passing it on. It's making me so angry.

My sister and her family got tested last week. They all had colds, but her husband had a fever for one day so her doctor made her get tested (she is pregnant) and the rest of the family and had to stay home until they got the results. Did it suck? yes it did. She owns a business that luckily her employees stepped up, but her husband was out of work. They got their negative result today. Better safe than sorry.
Also even if they hadn't gotten tested they planned to quarantine because the cold they got was very quickly onset and they wanted to be safe.

My brother got tested (routine and mandatory because of his job) and tested positive, his kids, gf and ex wife were negative thankfully, and he's still isolating in a room in the house away from them, they're fucking zooming in the same house so he can speak to them, yet we have people here who can't just stay home. It's sickening! Hope your sister and her family are OK.

Not only that, but if she's at work then her child who is potentially sick and contagious is being watched by her mom who she has stated is high risk. So yeah. At least her mom is aware of the situation and not completely unsuspecting like the coworkers are. The other problem is that even if her cold is not due to coronavirus, it is a contagious virus. Now her unsuspecting coworkers are at risk for catching this and (since they sound as though they are taking it seriously) they WILL take time off and go get tested and lose money and sick days. She is willfully risking other people’s’ health and finances because she is not only smart and special but also very much more important.

I've always done it rectally but with a new baby plus COVID it might be worthwhile to invest in an ear thermometer.

I have an appointment with my sleep doctor and I’m nervous. I have sleep apnea and two years ago I lost enough weight that I could safely ditch my cpap with my doctor’s permission. I did but now I’ve gained enough weight back that I need it again. I convinced myself that I would just lose the weight and be fine. But I didn’t. And it’s a little of a catch 22 because I can’t really lose weight when I’m not getting good sleep. Anyways, I feel dumb and like a failure. So hopefully getting my cpap back is not too hard and I swear I’m not letting go of it this time even if I lose weight (which is what my PCP told me). Hi fellow sleep apnea friend! You are not a failure. I have to use a CPAP, and it makes functioning so much easier. Going back on it is not bad, it is just going to help you feel human again. I felt bad when I was first diagnosed, but I feel so much better with it that I don’t care anymore. It helps me be healthier in general (and obviously in sleep!). Plus my dad also has it, and he lost 200lbs and still needs his. So weight is not the only factor. Get you some good sleep
