I haven’t worn my engagement ring in 8-9 years. I should sell it and buy a new dishwasher. This reminds me, I need to know the status of your dining room refrigerator. Still chilling in the dining room. I plugged that bad boy in.

I don't want to be the breadwinner because I don't like bread. This is the most appalling confession ever.

We're never going to have a Thursday or Friday without this, are we? If people stopped feeding it, we could. Yes, I know-pot and kettle. I am avoiding today so its my turn to tell people to walk away.

My wedding was OTT af and I fully admit it. It was as much my (and MH's) party as it was my parents'. They paid for it and I let them make a lot of decisions. My only requirement was a fun party, and that happened, so it pleased me. For me it wasn't about the wedding; it's about the marriage.
I can't say I wouldn't do it all over again, but I can say as a fully-pre-frontal cortext-formed adult I would probably think longer and harder about taking the $$$ cash my Dad offered to have a Courthouse ceremony instead.

Soo...anyhow... I paid my water bill on time this month for the first time in I don't know how long. Its an every other month bill and half the time we only get 7-10 days heads up. The last one was due 6 days after I got it in the mail. No autobill option, no online account to see what your bill will be, and the bill is a different amount each time. All excuses but I really do hate our water bill set up. Our last house it was $40/month for water and sewer and we never went over our limit so I knew exactly what was needed and when without seeing the bill. And now our bill is a tiny postcard and I swear there have been times I did not get it in the mail. I have heard others say the same and have similar complaints.
Tl;dr I'm bad at adulting.

I'm a little salty that we have so many weddings to go to next year that we basically can't do a vacay of our choosing. 2 of those weddings are ones we have to travel for

I make a point to avoid weddings. I'm glad I rarely get invited and I've never been asked to be in a wedding party.
Well, once. But then the "friend" pulled some shady shit and retracted the invite.

With the Idris talk yesterday, I wanted to post an Idris gif from Grey's Anatomy and spent, like, an hour trying to do so. Unsuccessfully, I might add. Is the confession that you didn't realize he was never on Grey's Anatomy?

When I was like 8 my mom and her friend and my brother (9) went to NYC. We checked into the hotel and got settled then when it was time to go eat I couldn’t find my shoes. We all searched high and low and finally my mom had to go out and buy me new ones. Never found them and it’s been a mystery for 33 years. And they were Punky Brewster but she didn’t replace them with the same so I was extra bummed.

I don't get these breadwinner feelings. However, in my home (not saying how we move is correct) we are a team. All monies goes into the pot. We have faced lay offs and new jobs and relocations and natural disasters and who made more has flip flopped multiple times in our relationship. So maybe that is why I don't have breadwinner feelings. These is us too. We’ve flip flopped a lot and it feels like it all comes out in the wash. But I’m more bottom line what’s that cash money. Cuz I count it all. Lol. The only thing making me slightly jealous is that H and I make about the same now but he works a lot less than me. But with that said, thank goodness he does because it is really helping with this school thing and other home stuff during this pandemic. It’s just hard sometimes when he basically takes every Friday off and I’m working 60 hours a week.

I love weddings because my friends live all over and it’s a nice excuse to get together and have a good time. I also love seeing their cultural wedding traditions.

My operating system on my personal computer is corrupted aka the computer doesn't work. I cried about that. I felt very "why, why, why" about it like a melodramatic movie. I cried about something similar earlier this year. My computer just died a couple days before I was supposed to remote teach 2 classes. Even beyond needing a computer for work, when your tech breaks these days, and that's the main way that folks can connect with one another, it can feel pretty devastating.

I really hate weddings. I mean I would never tell anyone that in person. I don't mean attending, that's fine. I just feel it's a waste of money and just too much for one time event. I also feel you don't need to have that many people there. Do they all truly support your union? I wouldn't want iffy people there or distant relatives I don't know. I didn't want one. My mom guilted me into it. I wanted to elope, stbxh wanted the wedding.

Free location because it was on the family farm which made my great great aunt so happy to see. In the end we had fun and people still tell me how much they loved our wedding (10 minute ceremony and then straight to the food and music) and for about a year after I made the older lady in H's office so happy when I would bring her another jar of applebutter because we had a shit ton left over and she had told him how much she loved the apple butter favors we did.

Our $ is one so while he makes more it doesn’t factor in. Throughout our 20 year relationship I’ve worked outside the home or not depending on the kid situation and what was best at the time for our family and only our family, so I work when it suits us and don’t when it doesn’t. But it’s all the same no matter what and it’s actually his preference I remain home but respects when I want to go out and work when it’s the right time. Whatever works.

I have a ring related confession.
Before H and I went to therapy and we were in the thick of our low, I chucked my ring off the balcony outside as hard as I could. We live next to 50 acres of open land.
I found it the next day while taking the dog out. I still can’t believe I did threw it and found it.

Like our bill was due the 15th and if I didn't pay then on the first of next month they would send out another bill and if not paid by like the 12th or some shit then they come turn your water off. Evidently it takes a please pay immediately or your water will be shut off for me to remember to pay it. And yes they actually will come shut it off at 30 days past due. They showed up at my house once so I frantically called the office and asked if there were any other options and the lady gave me 2 more days to get the payment in. Woops.
