Music is my religion too. I tried explaining my feelings on music to DH and he looked at me like I had two heads. There's something about music that brings me to another realm. I feel things. Music is huge in our house. We play it all and it is our thing so I agree with you

I don’t understand people that feel nothing. I feel it in my soul. My sister tells me I feel things deeper than other people. Whatever that means.

DH and I just divvied up the bills and we just manage our own shit. We talk about large purchases and make big decisions together but otherwise if I got Amazon coming, he has no idea. yeah, again lazy. I'm not interested in figuring out to the $$ if i pay the mortgage you ned to pay XYZ to make it equal and then adjust every time the gas goes up or the daycare comes down. We discuss big financial purchases but don't stop each other from buying small things here and there, that would change if one of us had an out of control shopping habit but we spend pretty evenly No its not always equal. Maybe I misunderstood. Like I pay phone and mortgage for example but if the bill goes up i still pay. And he pays truck and water and if it fluctuates he still pays whatever it is. We don't forward each other any money.

Trust may not be the best word, but I just don’t see why we would need all of our money commingled. for me it's because i'm lazy. I don't want to have to manage multiple accounts and figure out where the mortgage comes from, or electric, gas, daycare... on and on the joint bills go. We tried separate accounts we pay ourselves into from the joint account and it fell by Yep. It’s a non factor in our lives. It all goes one place, and it’s equally ours. TETO.

I like listening to music, but it doesn’t have that effect on me. Honestly, dogs are the only non-family thing that hit me that way.
I envy people who feel that connection to art. I think it’s great.

I cried during the eclipse we had a few years ago. 😆 like during the eclipse so much washed over me it was crazy. I love existential talks and could spend hours staring at the clouds thinking about the universe.

Music has a way of taking you back to a time and remembering it like it was yesterday. Kind of like a smell

I read something that animals don't understand or "get" music like humans and I felt sad for them. Like they can't feel a beat or anything.

We’ve never sat down and figured out who’s paying how much or made sure someone is paying an equal share. Generally, H pays more for joint bills because I pay so much for my student loans. If he’s ever short a month on a bill, he just asks me to pay it. There’s no science to it for us. No one’s keeping score. 🤷🏻♀️

My issue is that I’m a deeply pragmatic, cynical person who wants to be a hippie. But I’m not really.

I think it’s great. apparently we are one today. I like music well enough, i don't really listen to it much outside of my car though, it doesn't move me. I'm jealous of people that are deeply moved by anything like arts or spirituality

If we had separate finances I would have no spending or saving money. My H makes significantly more than I do

I don't think that has anything to do with the music imo I'm 5 ft tall and can't see over the people, not to mention the crowds as was said. I mean if someone wants to give me a private concert, awesome lol I think social media gives us better access to live recordings too

I like the aspect of the performance part, especially those I see on VMA etc. but I am like you I am 5'6" so not short in a sense but I have never been to a concert that I didn't have to figure out how to see because I don't live that close to stage life

I don't know if this is confession-worthy but it's relevant. We have joint accounts only, but functionally speaking it's really managed all by me. I could probably move all the money to new accounts and it would take a long time for H to notice.

Driving through the Florida Keys is a fucking nightmare for me. OMG yes. Have you ever done the Sunshine Skyway that connects lower St Petes to Tampa? Nightmares for days on that one I had to drive a 15 passenger van of teenagers over that thing twice a day for a week in 2005, and I still get anxiety remembering it.

Maybe it is a city thing? The cart escalators in narrow buildings so that the store can be split on two levels? Does anyone know what I am talking about?? Well anyway it sucks don´t go there. I get you. These are all our targets.

I'm on page 3 of 29 and will never make it to the end. But the non-native English speakers I know do not use a translate program unless they forget how to say a specific word and then they'd just look up that word. They aren't on this forum (that I know of!) but in work and social settings are able to text/social media with no problem other than forgetting an occasional word once in awhile.

This is exactly how I feel. But it seems like thus isn’t the norm which is shocking. We have separate accounts, and a joint checking for bills. I like having my own money and autonomy over my spending and saving. I think the older and more established you are in life, probably the less likely people are to totally co-mingle finances. It makes sense for a young couple just building their lives, but it didn't make sense for H and me when we got married. It works fine, we frequently discuss goals and don't argue over money. Yeah H and I had been together handling our own finances for so long when got married that it didn’t make sense or seem necessary to combine them. I will say we are on the extreme end and have exactly 0 joint anything and don’t have access to each other’s. It’s not for everyone I’m sure but has worked great for us.
