We are cleaning out our playroom currently. I dropped off a ton to Goodwill a few days ago.

I just finished The Home Edit on Netflix and ready to start my next projects. Garage and kids rooms are at the top of the list.
I have a pile of stuff to donate it just needs to be loaded in the car and a bin of clothes to sell at the kids consignment store.

We are still finishing the outbuilding in the back yard but I cannot wait to get so much clutter out of the garage. I also need to work on going through my closet and the basement.

One thing that has helped me is everyone has a small tote in their closet. If you put something on and it no longer fits then toss it in the tote. R's gets passed to C to pick out what he wants and the rest gets donated. C, H, and my stuff goes straight to donation.

I have a current personal goal that I would like to oraganize one thing in my home a day. I already missed yesterday.
Tuesday was underwear drawer for MH and I. Monday was my desk in my bedroom.
Today more than likely will be a touch up of my upstairs hall closet. I feel like some things need to be moved around.
Upcoming projects are a redo of my pantry. My master closet.

I want to build an organizer for our closet so bad but (as we learned the hard way) lumber prices are unreal right now. I also want to build a bench to redo the entryway closet but again, lumber is ridiculous.

It is driving me crazy.
I was going to get a shorter shelving thing (not wood).

Our's is right as you come in the door. It used to have sliding doors on it but I took those off shortly after moving in because I have come to the conclusion I hate doors? I took the doors off both kids' closets as well. 🤷♀️ For our entry way I plan to take the shelves out, put in a bench with space under for shoes to go, hooks along the wall, and probably one shelf back up top for things like our helmets and stuff that makes sense to be kept by the door.

I just finally cleared out a pile of toddler plastic plates (different sizes which never stacked well) and 8,000 plastic spoons.
I cleaned out the playroom closet and we took the doors off in order to make it more an extension of the room with open toy shelving. But now I have some of my seasonal shoes/boots with no home that I need to deal with.

I basically want this set up but to be open to the floor for easier cleaning like the second picture.

This is a great idea! I think I will do this as well as any other thing I’ve got to organize. Between getting a new huge dining room table (double size of our old one with four more chairs) and having to set up a classroom for two in the “office” (formerly the dump room really), I’m all messed up and if my surroundings aren’t orderly my mind goes bonkers. Ten is too old for dress up stuff right? I want to throw all that out of donate but I’m afraid I’m clinging to their younger years by holding on to it. Then I’d have a big chest I could use for something else or just free up space in the living room.

Pistol, wish I had a space for that. I have a split level home, so the front door is just a landing in between stairwells. Basically everything has to go to our bedroom closets

My back hall has built in shelves for canned goods and what not and that could use a huge over haul. And the top shelf is high enough to store not often used appliances and stuff so that really should be my number one but everything seems to lead to something else. I don’t know if it’s just me and my OCD/adhd brain but I can’t just reorganize that. It will lead to having to move things from all over and then start with another idea until I’ve worked for hours but nothing looks done.
Maybe categorizing will help. Food then soaps. Or shelf by shelf.
I spend more time looking at ideas on Pinterest then if I just used that time to actually do something I would be much farther along.

When it gets full, I look for sizes that my niece and nephew can wear and donate the rest...however, our goodwill and local donation sites are still not taking donations, so I have a bag lady situation happening in my garage.

My favorite cleaning podcast (Ask a Clean Person) stopped recording. Does anyone have a rec? I can't watch videos while at work, but I used to listen and take notes in my planner. It was definitely helping my cleaning/organizing mojo.

I basically want this set up but to be open to the floor for easier cleaning like the second picture. I want to do the same thing too but our entry closet is so awkward and we’d have to take our part of a wall to properly utilize the space so we just put a bench and a shelf with hooks up on the opposite wall. I have a basket I use in the winter for hats and mits and in the summer sunscreen and in Covid times masks.

I did the spare closet in my bedroom today. It’s sort of like a linen closet with wire shelves, but I keep a lot of odds & ends in there, along with any gifts I accumulate for the kids.
It didn’t come out as well as I had hoped, but I did get a box of donations together. I’ll have a lot more room once the I give DS2 his b-day presents next month. His new train set is taking up a lot of room.

I just painted to kitchen so some reconfiguring happened in there and we had to fit a desk in the dining room for virtual learning so we've been doing a lot of rearranging. Now that we've gotten into a bit of a groove with school I need to work on selling some more stuff online before postage goes up in Oct.

I’ve been trying to tackle a small project everyday. It’s amazing what I’ve done since we started the stay at home in March.
My projects this week have been our coat closet, my nightstand and our medicine cabinet.
My cleaning project this week is to wash curtains and rehang.

Just think of how many kids will have new costumes just in time for Halloween if you clean it out now.

I really want to reorganize the Lego situation here. I know it's been discussed in here numerous times so I won't ask. I'm thinking of getting those rolling carts with the clear drawers from Michael's. I would actually need two of them.

Pistol, wish I had a space for that. I have a split level home, so the front door is just a landing in between stairwells. Basically everything has to go to our bedroom closets We have a coat closet in our entryway but some genius put a bunch of water piping in there so the floor space one would normally use for show racks isn't available. Storing shoes has been a never-ending nuisance in this house.

I just finally cleared out a pile of toddler plastic plates (different sizes which never stacked well) and 8,000 plastic spoons. I did this last year then MIL gave DS2 a set of new dishes. 4 are trays with dividers, 4 square plates, and squared bowls. None of it fits together again.

We planned a very thorough clean out of the garage, but it was sped up by school going all remote (different story). BUT we bought 1 extra shelving unit and got rid of a few excess bikes and it is like a brand new garage. It makes me so happy that (almost) everything has a place.
I also have a goal of putting at least 1 thing per day in the donate pile. Big or small, something needs to go and when the bag is filled, we donate.
