Morning!
C was up at an ungodly hour, ready and raring to go.
Today we will be working on the kids’ bathroom, and I may see if I can get DH to dig out the fall decor 😬
College football is back (somewhat) so we are happy campers here. Gameday is on, boiled peanuts are going outside and DH is making sausage biscuits inside. We may see if our neighbors want to come over to drink/watch the late game outside once all the kids are in bed.

Morning. Dh started on the yard, it is amazing how much crap you can haul out of a tiny garden. My dad and h made a drive to the dumpside, the weather is going to be hot again next week (which is bizar, since it was full on fall these last weeks..), so I want to be able to let the kids play with water.
Ds had a teary meltdown (almost never happens) so I cuddled with him on our bed for a bit and asked Dh to take Dd with him on some errands so I could give him some one one time, he needed it so bad. I need to be more mindful of that.
Ds and I made granola and a big banana bread, I’ll portion/freeze them to make a good breakfast/midmorning snack. Leftover Chinese for dinner, not much else going on today.

It's like Armageddon on the whole west coast. Yesterday Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco were the top 3 cities for the worst air quality in the world. This smoke cloud is massive and gross. I work this weekend so we wouldn't be doing much anyway, but we're staying indoors as much as possible.
I've been gravitating to Reddit more because by far and large there tends to be a smarter crowd on there. On FB there are so many ignorant jackasses. I follow different news sources and agencies for local alerts. A post was put up from local emergency services encouraging people to remain indoors as much as possible and that city parks would be closed. It never fails, the assholes come out in droves about not wanting the government to control them. "First it was masks, now all sheep are letting the government tell them what to do!" FFS. You know what, go out. In fact, if there's ever acid rain or hail the size of baseballs go out then too and ignore safety warnings you stupid pricks. These people need to all be dumped somewhere like North Korea for a few months so they can see what government control is actually like.

Morning!
Laundry going, breakfast cleaned up, trying to get the motivation to work out.
Water Wars was rescheduled for today, so we have that at 2. Nothing else today.

C and L are counting the coins in his bank and C will exchange them at his work for dollars. C is telling L it’s a game.

M is at her friend's house this morning. I'll pick her up after lunch and then grandma is keeping the kids tonight. I have no idea what we'll do. I'd be happy to just pick up food and sit in front of the tv.

Morning. First weekend shift since I've been back. I didn't sleep great last night, very light with vivid dreams about pumping issues. V woke up as I was trying to get out the door so I didn't get to nurse her before I left. By the time I was able to pump my right boob felt like it was going to explode. I need to figure something out for tomorrow morning because that was no fun. H had her first soccer game this morning. MIL came over and watched S & V so DH didn't have to take them with. DH sent me some pics and videos of the game and half of her teammates have their name written on the back of the uniform tops and the other half don't. Sounds like some of the parents did it themselves. I wish they would have let us know because I would have either had my sister make me one on her cricut or paid one of them to print me one. It's a lot better when the whole team matches. Annoying. Otherwise it sounds like she had fun. I'm sorry the air quality is so bad for you right now inthekitty. FX for a big, long rainstorm.

I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then the boys and I went to my nephews soccer game. A has sinus junk going on so him and MJ are napping together. The boys are laying in their beds for fighting. They have 10 minutes and then they have to tell me 3 ways they can be nice to their brother. We're just relaxing today. We had a small party for J last night. So I need to clean up from that.

Morning! S has a birthday party for one of his BFFS (outdoor video game party) and the whole family is invited. So we will head over there in a bit.
That's about all we have planned for the weekend. School starts on Monday and I went through what the teacher put in googleclassroom and I am seriously impressed with the amount of work that went into it. I am hopeful this remote thing won't be such a shit show for him!

That sounds awful inthekitty, the fires are so terrible. And omg to the asshats who natter their nonsense. Enjoy your night tgrimes! jewels It’s great that you’ve checked out the google classroom, IME it’s nice to navigate around a bit and made a point of doing it a lot to keep on top of what was going on. I have the app downloaded, and all school apps, on my phone so I have access to help him with assignments and keep track of what he’s doing without being in his space as if I’m not trusting him.

Morning. We sat outside for a driveway drink with the neighbours last night. We were able to talk things through regarding the appeal and neighborhood drama; reasoning, feelings and each of our points of view and we’re totally fine now. It was very ‘adult’ of us and I’m happy to have cleared the air so we can move past this.

jewels I'm impressed with how much effort the girls' teachers have put into DL and Google Classroom/online resources as well. I can't even imagine how hard it is to engage young kids in that format and all things considered they are doing well. I need to check tonight to see if they have any assignments that need to be turned in but I think Maddie is all caught up and Cass might just have a quick thing or two to do. 🤞 it won't be a shitshow. So far my biggest problem is there are a lot of breaks and independent learning time and I want that time spent well and not farting around Youtube. I want MH to be fully on board that just like regular school, none of those activities during official school hours.

inthekitty I feel you. We didn’t do distance learning for that long (but also got no schedule from school whatsoever, I made our own) but no tv or toys that aren’t available at school was always out rule too. Lots of outdoortime, crafts, building materials were used. Not sure if you like baking, but making bread is also a good thing, it doesn’t take long, but it needs to be kneaded and proofed twice, which for us made a good ‘in between’ activity’.

E’s fever was not as high this morning as it was the last two days so I’m hoping we are on the road to recovery.

I’m currently procrastinating my homework. It’s a 21 part project framework sheet that has to be 5 pages. It’s really not hard but fining the information in the 120 page RFP is time consuming. I’ve finished 14 parts. It’s not due until Monday but I’m making myself finish it today so I can spend all day Sunday with the kids as the focus.

inthekitty we got a kiwi box for L during the DL. It has a project for him to build plus a book about what he built and where it falls in the S.T.E.A.M. world. I also had different coloring books and art projects to get him away from a screen. I think no screen time was important since most of his school work revolver around a screen. Maybe setting up stuff like that would help.

chrisy01, yep. That's the plan. I don't care if they're just playing with Legos, dolls, or other toys during those times as long as it's not screen time. And I'm not a screentime crazy either, but it just ends up being too much and then they don't get enough energy out in the evening and they are bonkers.

Homework done and I got next week’s test done too. Did a small target delivery order. Made lL’s spelling word flash cards and his sight words cards. He practice those. Now to work on his phrase to memorize. We took a chocolate cupcake break and he’s watching scooby doo and scrappy doo as well.
