I’m sure your all’s schools are the same : B’s class only mingles w each other. They don’t interact with any other classes (ie, no recess w other 1st graders, no lunch in the cafeteria w everyone, they don’t go to other class rooms for specials). All this is in effort to stop spread so if there were a case —knock on all the wood — it would not affect the entire school. H’s school is doing it a little differently. All the 1st graders can mingle, but only that grade. They do go to a different room for specials, but do both art and music in the same room. Only their grade level is in the cafeteria and on the playground at the same time. Our school is like yummeecookee, at recess they only play with their class, lunch is in their room, specials teachers come to their classrooms, with the exception of music, which they go to the teachers class and stand 6' apart, but still, there's only one class in there at a time. The only time they might mingle with others is coming in or out of school and even that is limited due to drop offs and the amount of kids they are releasing based on whose parent is there to pick up. Even on the buses, only family members sit together in seats, everyone has assigned seats, every other seat is empty, etc. So it think if there was a positive case, just that classroom would have to quarantine and the rest of the school could continue to go.

Josie’s school has cohorts so her class mixes with the kindergartners for lunch and after lunch recess.
