Morning! ‘Fiesta corn on the cob’ sounds amazing inthekitty , off to google. I’m clearly broken bc I don’t love elephant ears/funnel cakes/similar; I do like beignets, though, so I guess I’m a walking contradiction. We just got the new rug put down in the dining room and it’s a much-needed improvement. Of course I am basically the mouse from ‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’ because now I want moooaar. Sorry, DH. I think we might order light fixtures this weekend bc they are on sale (also much-needed). DH is working again tonight and the kids are already clamoring for something to do, our pool is booked up but maybe we can use my parents’. Light fixtures for what rooms? I’ve been looking for one for my dining room and I have no clue what I want. Entry hall and dining room, at the moment. Really the whole house needs them, it's such a mishmash of finishes and none of them were particularly great looking. But I'm less sure about what I want elsewhere.

klongoria11 why are you writing a book review? Its a side gig I've been doing for awhile now. It doesn't pay much, but I enjoy doing it. It's just like 2-3 books a month.

chrisy01 lolz. Yep, just pack it on up and move out. People are weird. That sucks that your county fair charges a lot. Ours is free admission into the fairgrounds and the food is the regular price it usually is. You drive through and it takes forever but we eat at different booths along the way and play Heads-Up (we did it in July too). It's a great way for the vendors to recoup some of their Covid losses. nam2013 and flamingo Fiesta Corn is butter, southwest seasoning, and cojito cheese. It's amazing. Elephant ears are thinly fried dough with butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Our fair does them perfectly. Some places make them too thin and crispy. Ours are just right. We also have Dole Whips and amazing scones with jam at the fair.

I put the call out for sitters on our neighborhood’s FB page and got a bunch of hits, lol. Hopefully there are some decent prospects in there. My dad is planning a family dinner/party for my mom’s 65th next month so that is my motivation.

Happy Sunday! Both boys' noses are like faucets today. I keep checking their temps but they're fine, they don't even seem to notice. Every little thing is going to make me paranoid over the next few months, huh?

The lake was fun, but parts of it were a shit show. Started with my mom calling my step dad, she got out of his truck at the boat ramp and just got in the boat and didn't didnt tell him anything, so he was pissed, and she had him on speaker, so that was awkward.
Then the boat wouldn't run correctly, so we actually pulled it back out, the guys all looked at it while we took the kids to the beach to swim til they got it running right.
Then I drank too much and ended up cutting my foot open on a rock and broke my flip flops. Which resulted in H and i getting into a fight and leaving early.
Today we drove 2 hours and went to the Wizard of Oz museum and walked down the yellow brick road. It was fun.

I was supposed to have a girls night with my friend while our husbands hung out with the 6 kids. Her oldest (6yr old) has a sore throat and runny nose. Obviously probably nothing but since it wasn't a necessary get together I cancelled.

Sorry for the stress at the lake mwhip. I'm about to pass out in a food coma. Wake me when Trump isn't president.

Well I quit the great window clean of 2020 after the whole main floor was done, so just the 3 basement ones left, then decided to head into the office for a couple hours. It smells like a hospital and for the short amount of time I was there I got so much done. Driving in I realized I really, really miss downtown.
Windows and work this long weekend. If only 22 year old Vino could see me now....

Play date went well. Kids are both in their beds and I just finished my yoga routine. I decided I’m doing a yoga workout every night before bed.
I’m hoping this will help my back problem and also get me back into wanting to run a few mornings a week.

Did you open all the windows and spray/wipe them down. Use a brush or just a towel?

Morning. mwhip Sorry about the weird lake trip. Hope your foot is better. I’m at work. We only have 1 patient so far and I hope that’s it so I can get out at 10. MH has to work out basketball at 1130, so just me and the kids for a few hours. Not sure what we will do. Maybe I can take them to the park. We need to do M’s about me weekend homework. He has T/Th school this week. He asked to go back to school Friday instead of going to work with Mh, so I’m pretty sure he missed being there.

Morning!
We’re on our way to the beach and meeting my sister and her fam there. We picked up fried chicken and it smells delicious, it might be the highlight of my day 😂
This afternoon we have a roofer coming out; we had a hail storm in June shortly after we moved in and have heard others in our neighborhood had damage/needed new roofs. Since ours is already on the older end we wanted to at least have a pro up there to take a look.

kim22 the museum is in Wamego, KS, kind of between Topeka and Manhattan, so small town, middle of nowhere. It was only $9 a person and its a self guided tour that has a lot of memorabilia and information. They show the movie in a small theater in the back, which we sat and watched a few minutes of. Across the street from it is an arch that says it's the Yellow Brick Road. But its KS and the sun must have baked the paint off it because evie kept saying it wasn't even yellow. But it was cute and something different to do on a Sunday.

I sprayed the window tracks with a mildew spray like Tilex, had a hot bucket of water with tons of rags, sponges, old toothbrush and a dull knife. After about 10 min of letting the spray sit I used a sponge to get in the cracks and add some water then worked the cracks with the rag and knife. It took forever and I had the change the water after every window, but they do look great. MH was all, ‘looks great this should probably be an annual job’. I promptly told him to kick rocks.

Morning. I had a glorious 3 hours of no work, kids or other appointments this morning, especially since I had back to back things after. I sat on the couch, drank coffee and watched a stupid movie on Netflix. U/S appointment tonight. Hopefully baby is growing nicely 🤞🏻.

Lol to Mr. Vino. He can take next year. Thanks. I would have never thought about using the knife to get in the grooves. Maybe one day this fall I can get around to it. Need to get my motivation up for the hard work. 😩

Whatever you do, do not take a closer look at your door hinges, cause that’s now made my list of ‘shit to clean before renos’. 🤨

Morning. I need to go get E a new floor lamp today. I don’t want anything fancy or expensive since we will replace it again once she’s not so destructive. Other then that we are cooking burgers this evening
