Yesterday one of M’s camp counselors sent me a text. It was a screenshot of FB that her mom saw and sent to her. One of the mom’s from camp was asking for help finding me/Mara because her daughter asks for a play date with her multiple times a day. I reached out to her and we set up a date for tomorrow.
Then I got 5 more texts from friends with the same screenshot from FB. Lol. They’re still trying to persuade me to make an account.

Morning! Enjoy the lake mwhip! It’s hot here, too. DH works from 3-midnight today and tmrw so it’ll be a quiet weekend for us. We may go the beach early on Monday before the crowds get too bad, B got a new boogie board he wants to use.

Morning.
I don’t think I ever checked in yesterday. It was real busy at work, we stayed past the normal 2pm, and I had a lot going on. My floors are done. They look better, not as good as I hoped, but it’s because it’s imperfections in the concrete itself. Nothing he could do about it. It’s smooth and feels clean under bare feet, though, so I’ll take it.
M had a sleepover at his bff’s house last night. When we went to drop him off, I had no idea that it was a small get together for us to be at as well. We stayed to their house until 930 last night. It was nice to be around a few people, but I couldn’t shake the awkward feeling of actually being in a social setting again. I think it was just because I wasn’t prepared/didn’t know we would be there for that long and my mind was tired from the long work day.
It’s my work weekend. So far it’s not bad. When I get home I will be putting my house back together aka bringing the furniture back in.

lahdeedah glad your floors turned out well and that y’all had a good evening. Any word on how M did with the sleepover? Was it his first one? B hasn’t done one yet, other than family. Just got an update that the dining room rug I ordered will be delivered today, and C’s new furniture shipped (it was backordered til late October so color me shocked). Progress!

I haven’t heard from them yet. We did have a small spat that I want to get advice from you all about at some point this weekend. It was 5 boys total. M’s first sleepover, too. I didn’t get any calls overnight, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. We meet them later at a trampoline park to finish his celebration. Hoping to get a good report. Yay to getting stuff in! I planned to get some stuff for the house this weekend while the sales are happening, but now I don’t know if that’s wise. MH meets with the AD Tuesday and I just hope it’s nothing bad. I am not trusting after they let go most of the staff last week.

Although A was home all week, he's been working on the deck non stop (7am-after 8pm every day since last friday). So I have had less help than I normally do from him. So I'm in the pedicure chair and getting my nails done after. I love my salon. The people here are so nice. My mil is coming over later for dinner and swimming. Other than that we have no real plans today besides cleaning up leftover lumber from around the deck. A needs to pick out usable pieces and move the rest to the burn pile.

Hi ladies. We took the kids to the zoo as a surprise today, we didn’t tell them untill we took a ‘wrong turn’ 😉. We stopped by my sisters house on the way back and had a great day! I can hardly walk anymore, but it was more than worth it.

Today MH took the kids to an outdoor museum and I'll take them to my sister's in a bit. Tomorrow I work and he will take them somewhere. Monday his parents want us to come over for a BBQ and he wants to know what to tell them. Ugh. I don't want to go but I could 1) suck it up and go, 2) skip and have him take the kids. They'd start getting more suspicious plus will the kids start wondering why we do soooo much seperate?, 3) make an excuse and none of us go.
I hate this.

wineallthetime I wouldn’t worry about the kids now, I mean tons of activities are done separate -1 parent is working etc. as to if you go or not, honestly if you don’t want to go, don’t. It’s his problem to explain why you are not there, not yours.

peachsmama I just hope those aren't Cool Ranch Doritos because that's like child abuse for a first introduction to chips (that's what the blue bag looked like). wineallthetime I second what jewels said. No reason to fake it if you aren't feeling it. Have fun nam2013! I hope M had a good time lahdeedah. No news is usually good news.

Just finished my workout. At some point I need to be brave and start a new knitting project. I'd be trying a lot of new stuff with this pattern.
Not sure what else is on the agenda. Maybe the Farmer's Market. The zoo or Children's Museum sound fun if there are slots available (we have to pre-book).

wineallthetime I wouldn't think too much about it. Mh usually takes Cadence to his family stuff without me. If you don't want to go, then you don't have to. If his parents question where you are then I'm sure he can come up with something.

I’d let him take the kids wineallthetime. There’s no need to put yourself through the stress of faking it and it would probably nice to have everyone out for a bit so you can take a break.

inthekitty I’m here. I just don’t get to post much. Work has been crazy and L starts in person school Tuesday so I’m getting all that prepped. I didn’t think it would actually happen.
My boss B has been amazing. Even though L is going to school she’s still letting me wfh on Friday’s so I can work on things with little disruption.
Today is a quiet day of cleaning and hanging out with the kids. My thermostat says it’s 106 outside so no outside time for us.
Tomorrow L has a play date with his “gf”.

Agree with others @wine, no need to put yourself thru that. It’s a problem of his making, he can figure out the solution 🤷🏻♀️

wineallthetime I agree with everyone above. Don’t go if you’re not up to it. Let him take the kids and you enjoy the break. Let him come up with whatever he chooses to tell his family. The kids won’t put that much into it. I know you are trying to keep things as normal to them as possible, but they can enjoy both families without the other parent being around.

The boys had fun at the trampoline park. M said he had fun overnight and the mom said all went well.
After we got in the car, he said he was stopped up and his face looked a little puffy, so I figure his allergies are acting up. I gave him Flonase when we got home and he felt a little warm. Poor kid. Hoping his temp doesn’t rise.

Hiiiiiii! Thanks for the tag inthekitty. School started this week and Colin is adjusting fine. I'm hopeful that he'll become more and more independent on his at-home days since we're sharing space. Not that he's that bad, I just like my space!! His teacher is amazing the way she's juggling the kids, I really am so impressed after peeking on his Zoom. I think we're going to have him start taking the bus on his in-person days because there are about half a dozen kids on each bus vs. a 45 minute pick-up line. Who knows, it may not last but he's enjoying it for now. Chase is happy at his new place as well, he thinks he owns the place. My brother and his wife visited today. We haven't seen them since Christmas and they're my only local family. I wanted to cry when they left, it was so good to see them. We're going to try to have family over once a weekend while it's nice out, since we have no idea how we will navigate the holidays. I think I'm dealing with some mild anxiety about the fall/winter between COVID and the election (and current events in general). My sleep has been pretty bad and I'm back to feeling tired non-stop. Things are pretty good with DH my Dad is doing almost shockingly well, but I constantly feel like the other shoe is about to drop. It's annoying and running isn't enough. Effing 2020.

Agree with others @wine, no need to put yourself thru that. It’s a problem of his making, he can figure out the solution 🤷🏻♀️ This was my thought. I'd be #petty and tell him to come up with the lie. Not your problem. Grab a book, or ask a friend to meet up for some socialization if you need it. Maybe bleach his favorite tee shirt? Again, I'm #petty

DH is at work so it’s just me and the kiddos. My dryer conked out (it works but no heat) so I had to take a couple loads over to my sister’s to dry. She’s out of town so we left everything and went for ice cream, then came back.
Now we’re having pizza and a game night; we’ve been playing Charades (we have a version with pictures so C can join in). The kids love it. They’re already bathed so hopefully I can get them in bed on time and enjoy some quiet.

I’m sorry about the anxiety joelies. I’ve been feeling it more too but I’m hoping it will subside once we settle into a new schedule. I hope yours subsides soon as well. Hopefully one of the major anxieties will be eliminated November 3rd.
