I've never thought about the sleeping the mouth open thing before. I'm sure it's probably ok. My babe has like not been awake all day today. I need him to have some awake time soon. How is night time sleep going for you? H is much better than my last two. Stretches are usually 2-3 hours but she goes down easily after each feed. Twice I had to wake her at 4 hours! (I NEVER had to wake my last two to eat.)

The last two days he's been more awake during the day and he's done better going back to sleep after his first feed. Unless my kids aren't back to birth weight I don't wake them at night. This guy's well over so I'm just letting him sleep as much as he can or will at night.

After her next one I think I'll feel better letting her go longer if she wants. Hopefully the nighttime cluster feeding ends soon. 🤞

C had dropped another ounce at his first check up Tuesday so they told me to feed him every 2 hours during the day and could go 3 at night. I'll be glad once he's back up and past birth weight so we can ease up on that. Go back tomorrow for another weight check.

fem was she checked for a tongue/lip tie? My DS3 slept with his mouth open and he had significant ties. He was also congested the first 3 months of his life. Once we got them corrected the congestion went away

Lactation found them and referred us to the only dentist in town who corrects them. My middle had hers corrected by our awesome dentist in Iowa. Now that we're in MN I'll have to call our dentist and see if they do them. I want to say at DD1's last appointment the dentist offered to take a look when baby was here, but now I'm not sure if I'm remembering that correctly. ETA: Our dentist in Iowa even had a lactation consultant on her staff to check your latch first. 💗

We loved him so much he’s now Bs dentist. When we went last week he said to call if we think there is one ASAP and he would take a look for us. Lactation at our hospital had a list of providers who do the procedure.

I went ahead and scheduled a consultation with our peds dentist for the 28th. She usually does them out of the location that is 45 minutes away, but will see me for a first consultation at the one by us and then schedule me with lactation at the other location if she thinks it's necessary.
Thanks for the input ladies!

STM question. I’m now the proud owner of 3 pumps. Do I start with the newest one or reuse the other 2? I plan on having 1 for home and 1 for work unless I don’t go back.
I’m also washing everything from last time and reusing hard plastic and throwing away the soft plastic (tubes, valves, back flow protectors)

I'm not sure I feel like I care enough to get a second. My PISA bit the dust so I'm down to just my S2. I don't mind lugging it back and forth because I would always pump on my drive home last time. If I do that again I don't see the need to get another one now. Especially since we're done having kids after this.

I just had 2 last time between work and home and got the insurance one this time. I’m seriously hoping #2 takes bottles compatible with spectra. I dishwashed and bagged up what I could today and I have 3 sets of parts, just need more bottles.

My haaka and my manual pump are washed too. I just have to figure out how to put the manual one back together 🤔🤔. I was a just enough-er last time so I want to start the stash whenever I get a chance. B was awful at falling asleep after one side so I plan on using both of those this time to start the freezer. I also donated 500oz last time to tow NICU and would love to do that again.

Not a lot yet, but that's almost entirely from just using my haaka during motn feeds.

Still pregnant.
We are supposed to be avoiding crowds and taking it easy this weekend/next weekend so B has had a ton of screen time. I’m having mom guilt since we aren’t doing a bunch of fun stuff before the baby gets here but thanks to Covid there isn’t much we can do. Luckily we are meeting a few of Hs coworkers later for a small sprinkle outside, so B will get to run and play with another kid his age for a few hours.

37+ 6 & I think I'm officially on #BabyWatch2020! About 2 weeks ago I lost a glob of egg white mucous, last night I lost a large chunk of the mucous plug with the bloody show. No real contractions, but lots of pressure, cramping, and overall hardness. I remember having non-painful contractions for a little over 12 hours with DS until my water broke then it was all out hell. The books and the Google keep saying labor within 24 hours and I'm driving myself crazy paying attention to every little thing waiting for go time. Ahhh!

I think I finally have hospital bags packed. I just need to put a reusable grocery bag in mine for the take home stuff and a notebook/pen in case I need to remember anything. I fully plan on using the hospital provided supplies as much as possible.
I was even nice enough to pack H's, but he still needs to throw a jacket in there in case its cold.

My 6 year old had a sore throat and runny nose, so because of the newborn she got a Covid test yesterday.
We all have to stay home until her results come back, likely Friday. It's ruining my relaxing maternity leave.

They just called about H's ultrasound. She had slightly dilated kidneys in utero, so we had to follow up. The kidneys are no longer dilated but there are still 'mild'blockages on both sides. We have to follow up with an ultrasound at 6 months but it sounds like it usually clears up on it's own as they grow. If not we get referred to urology then.
I'm a worrier so I wish it was resolved, but it sounds like it's a mild/minor thing so trying not to worry about it.

Finger crossed for baby on the kidney issue too. I know someone who's baby had this same issue and it cleared on its own.

Still super pregnant. I think mine is trying to break my pelvis though, so that's a good sign, right? I have my 38 wk appointment today and they are going to strip my membranes. I'm trying to get everything at work switched over to my replacement because I'm on vacation Th-F and then only working M-W next week so that I don't have to burn any more vacation, but I don't see myself actually working much. Yesterday I took a "break" and watched 2 tv shows in bed in the middle of the day.

My fluid levels dropped, so MFM decided to induce me today! 🎉 Only starting this off at 1cm and 50%, so it may be a little while. Hopefully baby by tomorrow morning! Good luck!! Keep us updated.
