I thought we needed a September thread.
Also I lost my mucus plug last night. You ladies are the only people in the world I would share that disgusting fact with. ๐

Also wondering how you and outside baby cnf are doing. I hope you're home and snuggling! I'm calling the OB office today. I didn't call yesterday because I was too anxious. But today I'm calling.

Yay about your plug fem! Fingers crossed! We got home late last night. We had to wait for his blood cultures to come back which takes about 48 hours, then they expidited kicking us out cause the place was super busy. We had a tough first night. He does NOT wake if he doesn't want to even though he was clearly hungry. He only nursed a bit on and off and I finally busted out the nipple shields because his latch is SO bad, my nips started bleeding already this morning. I only slept about 3 hours so I already took a nap and it's 10am here, lol. I need to find nipple cream and get my pump going. He's getting quite a of formula (don't care how my kids are fed) but I do want to get breastfeeding worked out and cycle in more breast milk than formula. My girls are already fighting over who gets to hold him and who gets to give him a bottle, and all of that, so it's been a lot of us trying to calm them down and get them to be patient and take turns. It'll be more helpful when the novelty wears off, but it's super sweet and they just want to help so badly. So yeah, need to figure out the boobs, especially because my milk is finally coming in now, and we need to figure out sleeping and middle of the night feeds. I mean, no complaints, but he's three days old, he needs to eat over night. Anyways, what you probably care about more than my ramblings

cnf I am definitely not looking forward to the newborn sleep struggles. Fingers crossed your get the feeding stuff figured out soon. I love the pictures, especially him with the big sisters! My doctor just called (from her 2 day vacation) to talk about my appointment with the PA yesterday and give me some options. She either wants me to come in Friday night to get some drugs for ripening my cervix for induction Saturday, or wait and give my body a few more days and come in Sunday night. As mentally hard as it is to push back the end date again, I think I'll wait the extra days to give my body a chance to go naturally. I've had one induced and one natural, and it was a much better recovery after going naturally. And then I'll be in labor on Labor Day. ๐

I actually have to go into work tomorrow for a few minutes (and Tuesday all day)...so I guess that means I need to actually find pants and a shirt that isn't too short? Also, my boss said if I have to go into the plant to say no...but with the current swelling of my feet I don't think closed toe shoes are an option anyway

Since my induction got pushed back I have to get my second Covid test in 3 days.
Good thing I'm on leave already so it's easy to get another in the middle of the day.

I had it done as a random study sample, but I for sure treated myself to ice cream after. I don't think my hospital is requiring it for L&D.

As far as I know our only requirements is that we get one support person for the whole stay. They even quit doing temp checks at the doors. I'm tempted to ask if H can bring B so we can all go home together, but with Bs current behavior (running), I'm sure that would be fun in a hospital.

But it has not passed my mind to bring a facemask or something like that if I have to go in at night since they won't start induction until morning. I haven't had a night away from B yet and he's 2.5.

He just doesn't listen and likes to run. My mom can't keep up with him (she needs a knee replacement) and I know she won't keep him on his schedule. And he doesn't listen. Weirdly enough, one of H's coworkers who we are friends with has a 2 year old and right now we're leaning toward asking her to watch B, since we know she runs a tight ship. She's due in November and we've already said we would keep her daughter overnight if her family doesn't make it in town fast enough.

Thats kind of what we are thinking. Now that we are "moved in" I think we're going to have some of H's coworkers who are our age over the weekend after Labor Day, and the weekend after that they're throwing a sprinkle for both of us, kids and husbands included, so he will be around them a lot in the next few weeks too. And if we can get everything worked out, they would just grab him from daycare Thursday, keep him overnight, and then back Friday morning with H picking up Friday night.

Our neighbors here seem really chill so if we have an emergency situation I would probably trust them with our kids for a little bit. MIL is planning on flying in though and not buying her tickets until it's go time since they're so cheap right now, so hopefully we can have some time to get her here even if an early delivery needs to happen.

Also - Random - I still need to order a crib mattress for #2. Any Amazon suggestions? We're playing the "put all the home improvements on the cc and pay it off" game now so this got pushed to the end. I'm also using my Amazon discount so I'm trying to put other random stuff on the order.

My kids went to the neighbors house while H took me to triage. They were happy to help out.
I had my pre-op covid test Saturday morning and when I got admitted that night they just called the lab to put a stat on it. NY only requires the mom to be tested then the partner is presumed negative or positive based on mom's results. If I had needed a non household support person they would have needed their own test, but the hospital would and can do rapids on anyone who needed it.

So soon ponygirl ! rooskie when are you scheduled? And everybody else, remind me of your due date/scheduled date. I can't remember a damn thing these days. ๐คฃ Due 10/5...Induction 10/1. I go in Wednesday for labs and a growth ultrasound and depending on how that goes they might urge me to push up induction, but the earliest it can be scheduled is 39 weeks.... So in about a week and a half I'll need all of the things to start labor because I'm already uncomfortable AF and in the IDGAF mode for work.

Just hoping to make it to October.
