Nugget is starting to repeat all the words and now we are suddenly realizing we need to watch what we say. We curse a lot in this house, which is going to be a problem... Last night at dinner, J made a funny comment to me and I jokingly said "F--- you." of course, Nugget immediately starts going "Fuh! Fuh!" Trying so hard to keep a straight face, then J says something a minute later that involved the word "A--hole" (can't remember exactly what) and then she starts saying "Asso! Asso!" Haha for a while L' s phrase was "damnit, I mean, oh snap"

H: I'm drawing the big blue house. me: awesome. H: and here's the thunderstick on the roof. me: thunderstick? H: yeah. On the roof. For when there's thunder. me:... ... ... oh, a lightning rod.

C has loved yanking out chunks of my hair since she had the ability. Sometimes she tries to eat the hair (ewww), but recently she has tried to feed it back to me...

J tried to jump into the tv today. Like he dove into it with his hands while watching Cars. "Oh, I'm too big to fit!"
He often tells me different ways that he can grow smaller so he can jump into the iPad, I guess he decided to dream a bit bigger today.

Haha L likes to watch Blues Clues, and one day she tried to "skadoo" into a book and was so disappointed when it didn't work

R woke up this morning crying hysterically. I went upstairs expecting to find vomit or something equally horrible.
R (crying): I want my airplane pieces back!! (He has a magnetic model airplane).
Me: your airplane is downstairs
R (crying harder): But you ate them!! Give them back!!
He must have had a bad dream. Poor kid. But I swear I did not eat his airplane. lol.

Yesterday I painted mine and R's toenails. I told her not to touch them because the air needs to help them dry first. She walked over to the open window, coming back with her hands cupped like she was holding something and told me "Here some air mommy. Make nails dry."

M: (stern voice, serious face) You need to get me a banana right now! Because I don't want to do it!
DH and I: Bwahahaha! Good luck with that one kid.

In R's book we were reading, the princess' pet's name is "Lulu" and R goes "Mommy! Like the green one on the big tv." ...she's talking about the "Hulu" app on the tv.

This thread makes me feel like my kids don't say adorable things. I'm sure they do, but nothing ever comes to mind when I'm reading

This thread makes me feel like my kids don't say adorable things. I'm sure they do, but nothing ever comes to mind when I'm reading I feel like it happens less as kids get older and better at speaking. R is only 2.5 so she's still learning so much and often confuses words or takes things very literally - which makes for all the funny bloopers.

I'm sure they do, but nothing ever comes to mind when I'm reading Since this thread was started I have tried to pick up things to add. M is HILARIOUS, so I feel like it should be easy, but either I don't remember the things long enough to write it all out or it just doesn't translate into writing. Meh, we're still having fun.

We just turned Ls carseat forward facing and the first time she sat in it she said "I'm upside right!"

D still calls the opposite of backwards frontwards. We half heartedly correct him. Sometimes.

I love that now that she talks more I can get a window into what goes on inside Nugget's little head. Like the other night, I was nursing her at bedtime and she popped off and said "Kit! Kit!" I said "What?" and she grinned and said "Kit! Meow!" I guess she was having some deep thoughts about cats while nursing...

As I'm getting ready to take the dog out...
R: I'm coming too
Me: ok, get your shoes on
R: ok. I'm going to bring a banana outside just in case
Me: in case what?
R: in case I get hungry.
On our 2 minute outing.....

M asked me to draw her. I drew a stick figure, and she exclaimed, "you forgot her dress, she's naked!"

All things 14 month old speak are adorable.
If we hear an airplane she looks up and says "whassit" meaning where is it? And when she sees it gets so so happy.

J has told several people (strangers) at the fair that he is " going to see a few more different animals and then he's going to go ride some rides".
He will not be riding any rides.

At my cousin's baby shower today B said to her husband "'nother baby? Just one more, right?" I snorted. It's their 6th kid.

J had his 2 and a half year old check up the other day, and they measured and weighed him. After we left, the conversation went like this:
J: I am growing, growing so fast! I am big! Me:You are big! You were 27 pounds! J: Wow! Is Dr. P going to measure me again? Me: When you are 3 we will go back and measure you again. How big do you think you will be then? J: (pauses, then in a reverent tone) A hundred dollars!

I love how Nugget is talking so much more now and has to give a running commentary on everything she sees. Like, we put on Moana for her in the car yesterday for the long drive back from NY and every time Heihei the chicken came on the screen, she yelled "Hey!"
And when we read books, she spends the entire time pointing to things on the page and telling me what they are. She is very insistent, even when she is wrong, and won't let me correct her. We were reading Blueberry Girl by Neil Gaiman last night and she kept pointing to an antelope and calling it a dog, and wouldn't stop saying "dogga" until I affirmed that it was, indeed, a dog.
